I can't agree with you more.

I want to excel in RBF too. If anyone's got any tips... please share!

I'm sad that you got injured as well... And also curious whether you phrased that intentionally... getting burnt out as a pastry chef makes me think of something getting burnt in the oven... and after getting burnt... became a fireman... in-te-res-ting ??

oh.. and my brain must not be working... I had to draw myself a little diagram to grasp your Joe example... quite embarrassed about that... ?

Hm.. I think if blocking was two-way, then if you have blocked the owner, you would also not be allowed on their parcel... Sort of like on facebook, how if you have blocked someone from seeing your profile, then you wouldn't be able to see their profile as well or be able to search them.

1. If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask? If there is a heaven, how exactly do I get in?... (I'm actually trying to squeeze two questions into one... If I get an answer to this question... it would mean that yes, heaven exists ?) 2. What are some things that sound like compliments but are actually insults? You're smarter than you look 3. What’s something your brain tries to make you do and you have to will yourself not to do it? Scratch a mosquito bite... apparently you're not meant to scratch it ? -

Knowing when I'll die would definitely change a lot of things... like what I'd worry about and choices I'd make. Like, I wouldn't have kids if I knew I wouldn't live long enough to take care of them.. and more seriously, if I knew I was going to die in a few months time, I would eat all the damn chocolate I want! -

Hostility increase in SL

So sorry to hear you having such an awful experience ☹️ I think you're onto something.. as SL popularity increases, the greater exposure you will have to different types of people... and some people just enjoy being aggressive. There's also the keyboard warrior phenomenon. But as Selene Gregoire has said, if you wait it out, not everyone's like that so you will get responses from the more helpful peeps ? -
This made me think of a quote from Westworld.... Boy: “My father used to say that only boring people get bored” Ford: “Mine Too. But I used to think it's only boring people who don't feel boredom, so cannot conceive of it in others” My bro and I spent 3 hours waiting for a connecting flight. He was on his laptop but my batt died so I spent the entire time staring into space, completely content, not one bit bored. Still can't figure out whether it's because I'm a boring person... or that I'm the most interesting person in the world! ? You are so right with your ETA2 'cause at the end of the day, everyone will find at least something boring. You can have one person being so entertained with something, and have another person be completely bored by it... so that person will go find something else to do that they won't be so bored with.

I personally like reading complaints! Sometimes 'cause they're interesting and funny... but also 'cause having everyone be completely happy about everything can make me wonder if something's wrong with me... you can't possibly always be happy about everything, right!? The good thing about freedom of speech and expression is... you'll never feel like you're completely alone, especially when you find other people sharing the same thoughts as your own. Sometimes complaints can also be constructive and bring about change and improvements... just sayin.

I think being bored is a good thing. Boredom triggers you to do something different, create, explore, change... But if you're never bored and you keep doing the same thing over and over, that's a good thing too.. Happiness is the ultimate goal ? If I wasn't bored in the first place, I would have never found SL

I Don't Know Why I was Banned from a Region

Very true. Thanks! ? -
Totally agree that it should be two-sided... 'cause otherwise, it can get quite awkward! Thanks for your reply ?

I Don't Know Why I was Banned from a Region
Hollie Leavitt replied to RoyMc3's topic in General Discussion Forum
Is there a way to find out all the places you are banned from?? I think I was banned from a store 11 years ago (they didn't have demos so when I bought something that didn't match the picture display, I asked if I could get a refund.. but got banned instead ☹️). Anyway, so I've only recently just come back to SL after 11 years and I guess I'm a little curious whether I am still banned or not ? -
What Keeps You Coming Back To SL?
Hollie Leavitt replied to Cristiano Midnight's topic in General Discussion Forum
I find myself coming back to SL whenever something's missing in my RL. I first joined SL when I was depressed and things weren't going well in my RL. SL can add to your RL by bringing enjoyment, but personally I think it can also take away from your RL. Because although there are less constraints in SL as there are in RL, there are constraints nonetheless which can sometimes lead to a choice that has to be made - whether to invest in your SL or in your RL. For example, choosing to spend money on dolling up your avatar vs spending money buying an outfit that you can actually wear in RL... or spending time living through your hot avatar vs spending time at the gym in RL so you can be a hotter version of your real self. Personally, I don't like that opportunity cost but I guess that's just life, whether it be SL or RL. After having disappeared from SL for 11 years, I only log in to the extent that it adds to my RL satisfaction... which I admit, is not much. I actually frequent forums more than i do inworld. I guess I enjoy the connection ? -
Is SL getting stagnant?
Hollie Leavitt replied to greek Wingtips's topic in General Discussion Forum
Whether something is stagnant or not, is like asking whether something is beautiful or not. It's very much subjective and largely dependent on the individual. I first joined SL way back in 2007, was active for a few months, lost interest and left for years. I've only just logged back in over the past week or so. So I guess for me, it has felt stagnant. But I can see so many other members active for so long and obviously, for them, it is far from stagnant. SL is what it is... and many who expect SL to be what they want it to be instead of what it actually is.. may end up being disappointed. I've gone back to SL with the same hopes I had when I first joined - wanting to escape the real world to a world where almost anything can be possible... even flying! And I think a lot of people turn to virtual reality to experience things that are either difficult or not possible in real life, eg. fantasies. My personal disappointment (no judgement please!) comes from the feeling that this virtual world is a bit too similar to the real world for my liking in that to have a truly awesome limitless experience, in most cases, it comes at a cost.. which in turn makes it limiting (and also limiting the escape from RL that I was after.. the escape from RL and its constraints). I do acknowledge that there are still plenty to experience without paying a cent... but its limited. And just like the capacity to have or do amazing stuff in RL is available at a cost, the capacity to have or do amazing stuff in SL is available to those who choose to spend. And it's completely fair - people dedicate so much of their time and talent to amazing SL creations. I've just been spoilt as a Sims player for which so many top notch creations are available for free (I'm sure those creators get paid through other means though). And for me, I have arrived at a point of assessing whether it's worthwhile actually spending money on my "second life" instead of spending that money on my real life... I can't seem to justify it. So yes, my freebie experience in SL has become quite boring so I've stopped logging in. However, in saying that, I'm still around on forums out of sheer admiration and intrigue for the work of so many talented members, and I'm just enjoying all your thoughts and ideas. So I guess my account isn't going anywhere any time soon ? ...I'd also like to add that I have generally found people to be much nicer and more approachable in SL than in RL! Weird huh? I already anticipate that my post won't get a lot of love since SL forums would be mostly occupied by SL fanatics... so in case I have offended anyone, I'll say sorry in advance 'cause I definitely don't mean to offend.. but just sharing my personal thought, which is in no way intended as an attack on anything SL. -
Sorry if someone has already answered this question already... I have read all the posts here but I may not have understood it correctly so here goes. Is there a way to block someone such that they never see any trace of you, i.e. they don't see you as a dot on any map (mini or radar), they don't see you come up in the public Nearby Chat, and they don't see your av physically should they happen to be at the same place as your are, at the same time? I ask this because I have thought of blocking someone before, but didn't want them to know I have blocked them, and also didn't want to have to keep my eye out for them and have to avoid certain venues in case they saw me... ?

That's so helpful, thank you!
