  1. Alright, so. I went back to Blender 2.79 with the avastar I have and lo and behold, the dress works! Well. A different dress using the Slink Hourglass body. Fits perfectly too! I think shape keys are what helped as I noticed using the avastar attach to bones thing, it added shape keys ad then transferring weights from the body (which went smoothly). So I'ma try again with that dress onto the belleza body using avastar.
  2. Aaah. I think I see the problem. The fitmesh bones are what is making it squash. The avatar workbench bones work, but not the fitmesh one I got from Machinimatric. Which... the fitmesh is kinda what I need for the Belleza or any sort of clothes I would plan on making Are there ways to solve the fitmesh bones doing this sort of thing?
  3. Welp. I didn't use the avatar workbench but when I did transfer it on over, that was actually what made it work! Not bento (not like I plan on making gloves however!), but I should use that for all my clothing I plan on selling! So that was apparently the problem. The darn skeleton! There was no check box to include the custom data but there is one for bind pose however
  4. Well, fixing the rotation of the axis, and the t-pose (which I apply to rest pose in an easier way thanks to handy dandy plugins) did help some as the sleeves are correct now. Oh, and the rotations and scale. But it still appears to be 'squashed' at the belly, pecs, and butt and/or pelvis bones. https://gyazo.com/7599b4486472a3fbe6952f66e9b7b693 I know there is no backface/inside to it especially with this dress needing it particularly at the legs, I figured I'd try to fix this before duplicating, flipping normals, then joining.
  5. So I made a dress that I would like to sell and it seems like the weight is good and I transferred weights from the body to the dress and all and it moves fine... But why when I import it to SL, the upload viewer weights look like this? https://gyazo.com/a65e3dd1cb04829db96aa14735e9234e I don't really understand it, as I've looked through everything and can't seem to find the cause. The weights are at the right spot... Supposed to look like this: https://gyazo.com/8f6e2af5cd00f4663eb757c6d4f3c0db It's fitted for just Belleza Freya right now and can switch to T-pose if needed (I've changed the arms as necessary and all) but the difference between poses doesn't seem to matter when it comes to uploading it. Both poses have the same deformity in the upload viewer. My Blender is 2.8, no avastar, a little bit of subtracting weightpainting with the sleeves so they aren't attached to the hips and legs as they did with automatic weights and transferring weights... I tried using it with 2.79 and that didn't work. I also tried transferring weights from a dress/different body that actually worked but even that did not work or the weights didn't transfer!
  6. SO, I figured I ask here since this is more fashion related and figured creators who make dresses and pants, etc, go here more often. But my question is... How do you take a piece of clothing and rig it without having to redo the ENTIRE thing for a mesh body and then rig it/resize it (either works maybe?) for a different body. I have Belleza, Maitreya, Slink, and Alice (hoping to get Legacy!). I have a beautiful dress I made in Marvelous Designer 9 and then transferred and rigged it in Blender, then exported seamlessly into SL. (I need to work and practice on my textures) I have it rigged for Belleza Freya natural currently but I want it rigged or however it is done for the rest of the bodies too such as Maitreya (especially that one as most use that one it seems and is their first mesh body). TLDR; How do you rig something to multiple bodies without redoing the entire garment from scratch and hope you get the same results. https://gyazo.com/3e40cb456ee2b7b46682c862e423b052 Link above is the garment/dress in question. I absolutely love it, the design of it, and am so proud for what I still consider myself a beginner just by experimenting with things. ❤️
  7. Aaaah. That could have also been my problem too where I didn’t use smooth or smooth shading in the beginning Though I didn’t make it in MD as that is something I can not afford at the moment. So for now I’m just using Blender. But thank you, I’ll try to decimate modifier!
  8. I was wondering if there was a modifier in Blender to reduce vertices while keeping things smooth? I learned that there is a 65k vertices limit when I upload things and whenever I try lessen the vertices (via limited dissolve), it gets the mesh a little blocky or loses the general, smooth shape I want. I tried making a dress and it was going well till I ended up with that limit and well... it’s practically ruined at this point trying to lessen the vertices via the limited dissolve lol. But hey, I’m still a beginner, so... it’s a learning process, ya know! Anyways, anything other than limited dissolve to lessen the vertices to be put under that limit of 65k vertices? In a way to keep the general smooth shape of the clothing item?
  9. Thank you Jane. I hadn't plan on SELLING anything from using that kit, I just needed something to play around with and at the time I didn't have a store or anything. So I couldn't exactly apply... Now that I have a official devkit, although not Maitreya, I can create stuff now so that I CAN apply for more kits. But oh well. In terms of rigging, I found the Avastar fitmesh skeleton found here worked the best: http://blog.machinimatrix.org/fitted_mesh_survival_kit/ Other than tweaking in weighting when doing a transfer from the weighted body (as some of the very top vertices are stretched a bit), it is rigged perfectly. I found that using it, I can size it how it needs to be with the devkit body as a reference for the sizing! So all is going well so far! The bodysuit in question! : https://gyazo.com/1cf1fb81701a2034ed572464fc639d77 Once I had it rigged and weighted, then I'll start adding embellishments~
  10. Ripping content??? No, this is just some file I found on some video for it actually. I never used it though. I can see how it is ripping content but I wasn’t one who personally did it. But again, I never used it or figured it out. But the devkit for Alice Signature IS the official one though I am having trouble to get it to fit the actual Alice body in-world since I do have it. On the topic of the ‘bootleg’ Maitreya devkit, it was, again, a file I found attached to a Youtube video. So technically I didn’t rip but I did... ‘support’ it in a way... >.< Agh. Sorry about that!
  11. UPDATE: I got it to rig with the Signature Alice devkit skeleton that IS bento. I just couldn’t do automatic weights resulting in a TON of work in weighting. BUT I would still love some help on getting it sized and rigged specifically for a mesh body easily and quickly! My plan is to have clothing available on MP (maybe in-world eventually!) for this mesh body but I also want to include other bodies (particularly Maitreya and I do have a devkit although it is the bootleg kind... shhhh). So, again, any way to rig or scale it easily and quickly to fit a mesh body other than having to do it all by hand and testing it hundreds if not thousands of times?
  12. SO! To start off, I am making a bodysuit for the Signature Alice mesh body. Since it’s a new body I like quite a bit, want clothing, sell clothing, etc. I got the Dev Kit, but I replaced the armature/pose with the workbench on one of Avastar’s blog post. (NOT the plugin you buy). The devkit armature didn’t work, so thats why. I tried to bento skeleton but I couldn’t seem to get the grid to recognize the skin weights. So I’m trying with the default, non-bento armature. I used the weight transfer option when attaching the bodysuit to the pose/armature as well. Which makes it rigged perfectly to how I want it to be so far. NOW. When I upload to the beta grid to test, everything is fine... BUT. It is not deformed to the Signature Alice mesh body (which I have on the file for reference). It looks more deformed for the classic avatar? I was wondering if anyone who has dealt with rigging clothes to a mesh body has any tips or tricks to deal with this? I am using Blender 2.8 (which so far does the same thing as 2.79 and honestly has an easier UI than 2.79). I do NOT have the Avastar plugin (don’t plan on having it anytime soon). I am using a default, non-bento skeleton (couldn’t get the bento skin weights recognized). And I am a complete beginner at this. XD I literally started less than a week ago. My Process ——— Rig bodysuit to armature using Armature Deform with Weight (something) Rigged perfectly fine. Export as DAE file and choosing the dropdown option for SL+OpenWorld rigged Upload (all good so far yepperz) Wear Rigged good... ... ..Not deformed to mesh body (Signature Alice)... TLDR: I got a mesh body devkit (Alice Signature) switched armature to default non bento skeleton because the devkit one wasn’t recognized as well as the bento skeleton, rigged it well (great even if I say so), upload normal with all the skin weight checkbox... but it isn’t deformed to the meshbody from the devkit. So I’m asking how to get it where it is scaled and deformed to the mesh body. Do not have Avastar and using Blender 2.8 btw.
  13. Hello! i’m Muiregwen and I opened a shop where I sell my art on the marketplace called Sapphire Raven. I am also looking for people to critique my work as I would like to know what would people like and don’t like. I also have a deviantart you can look through and check out my work as my portfolio to see what I do for commissions Deviantart Portfolio: https://www.deviantart.com/iisapphireravenii Marketplace; https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/210247 I am also taking commissions ranging from 600 to 1000 per piece depending on what you want. I use digital art mediums on a tablet to do my work. How I work is I get half upfront and once you receive the piece, the rest will be paid. This is to cover the costs of uploading and materials. What you will be sent is the texture and a frame with said texture to hang on your wall. 600 - Pattern, Galaxy, Print texture and frame, fully colored 700 - Headshot texture and frame, black and white 800 - Headshot texture and frame, fully colored 900 - Full body texture and frame, black and white 1000 - Full body texture and frame, fully colored. Please send a notecard with your IM to me (Muiregwen Resident) of what you want done, colors, bust, pattern, etc. If there is a fully body shot wanting to be done, please tell me what pose you would like. If you want your avatar done, please send a photo of yourself and if possible, in the pose you would like it to be done in. Example Work (Please Critque): Thank you and hope enjoy my art!
  14. I now have a market shop for my artwork! My marketplace shop is called Sapphire Raven. Come look at my art and perhaps get some for your home in SL! Sapphire Raven: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/210247 I am also doing commission art for 400-600 depending on what you like. That a look at my deviantart also called Sapphire Raven at the link above this post. 400 for patterns and galaxy and simple designs, 600 for more complicated, cartoon/anime rendition of a person, such as your SL avatar. If you wish to have your avatar drawn, please send me a image of them at Muiregwen Resident and what pose you would like to have them in. If possible send the image of your avatar in the pose you would like them in. Thank you!
  15. Not sure about a band manager as I don’t have that sort of capability nor requirements. I wish I could help but sorry... Please IM me (Muiregwen/Muiregwen Resident) for a position if you are looking for host, dancer, in a moderated setting. Or if it is a paid roleplay position for a job in a city or office worker. Or perhaps a digital artist as I am a student/hobbyist in that field looking for a bit of commission. On an added note, I am starting to sell artwork. Depending on what you need, my rates may change, but for now I offer commisions for 400-600 lindins to cover time and texture uploading costs as well as a frame. You check out my deviantart to see what I do (I upload once a day), to see my work. What I upload and more os available for buy in SL as well and not just etsy and deviantart. I can migrate my work to such, just please ask. I will soon open a marketplace shop and will put in a link eventually for it once set up fully. https://www.deviantart.com/iisapphireravenii I can do space theme, midcentury modern theme, or any general patterns requested for 400 while full/partial/headshot drawings in ‘anime’ style is 600. I am broadening my horizons in art and can offer a more realistic approach, being that I am an art student in college. And if you happen to read this and have a gallery, please contact me if you would be interested in displaying my art for some outreach. Some art below: .
  16. Hello, I am looking for a job as a host or dancer. Preferably in a moderated club and not adult, as I am not looking for adult, sexy style sort of things. I don’t have much social skills, but I am working on it the more I am playing. I feel like I could be a good host and dancer as I continue working! As of right now, I can work most hours until August 16th when college starts back and I am going on vacation in a few days from the time of this post and be back on July 8th. So if anyone is hiring one of these two types of jobs in a less adult, more moderated area, please let me know I will get in contact soon. (: Pay is not an issue but I would like to not have it lower than 50L$ per hour and including tips, be it a small percentage or big percentage. Just wish for a job that pays better than free offers and fishing and such. And I’d think I’d have fun with it too! Again, thank you for anyone who guides me to a good job and I will contact the person soon! Edited; and perhaps any job like retail. As long as it is not adult activites such as an escort and stripper. i prefer not to work those sorts jobs.
  17. Okay. Thank you for clarifying those two things. Especially the payment thing, as I had read about it, but it still confused me a little in terms of limits, buying, and transferring. Like I had said, I was only looking for L$ and not US$, so right now, transferring is not an issue.
  18. My question is, since people don’t have to buy land, and some people can’t as they don’t have the money, is it okay to make what you want to sell in a sandbox and then upload to marketplace? I understand no selling in sandboxes, which is fine with me, but does this include making items you want to sell in the future and to upload to the market place? Again, no actual marketing and selling items /in/ the sandbox, just making said item. I wanted to ask before uploading textures and making the frame and such, so I don’t do something that is not allowed and then get kicked. Obviously, because that is not preferable. I have to wait to be five days old, that’s fine, but I have a plan of making art pieces and decorations (paintings). And yes, I understand that it hardly pays and it is difficult, but I am looking to make L$ not US$. I just thought it’d be fun and maybe get a little bit of exposure for when I sell my real life work. There is also the question of do I absolutely have to pay for L$ with US$ before selling things in the marketplace? I know I need link a paypal account (just one of the options I chose and prefer), but do I have to pay for currency with that account instead of just linking it and start selling?
