  1. Hello! Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this. I made a character in Blender and I want to make it animesh using avastar. I have everything rigged up, weights painted, groups cleaned up, no stray vertices and the right weight groups. Everything seems fine in pose mode and everything moves the way it should. See the pic "Character before export". Everything seems fine to that point. Then I export using the avastar export and it rescales the rig. See the pic "Character after export". It also seems to do something strange with the joints. See pic entitled Character during upload. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Thanks! (Further note: All scales have been applied as far as I know and I've gone through all the avastar documentation I can find.)
  2. first time creating a pose i followed some tutorials from youtube i did everything i believe correctly with the keyframes and ease-in did locrot and so on.. everything seems fine and works in blender and then when i export from the render tab (still in pose mode and everything is selected) nothing shows in second life viewer it even says the file size is 3kb bc its empty and nothin was exported when i check and upload the animation in the viewer. im using avastar and blender 2.83.. and cant figure out why the export is empty
  3. so i made a ring and rigged on the pinky finger to the legacy body male with avastar then when i look at the vertex group it shows me this: https://ibb.co/02F9MjT which is a problem because the avastar didnt took the actual finger bones such as this: https://ibb.co/PwzQMrm so i tried to transfer the vertex group and it didnt work it gives an error: https://ibb.co/XjBpjpq and im so soon to give up doing rings because of this.. i know theres a simple way to do it without paint it manual which would be pain
  4. so i been creating accessories for a while and thought to start with clothes and i already made my first shirt using Signature Body model on MD - to blender - to second life.. but the problem is its matching ONLY signature body and my question is if i want to make it for legacy for example do i need to get the kit and overdo everything i did and with the huds copy it like to 3-4 bodies id like to create ? it doesnt make any sense to me i need to start from zero to each body.. since u cant move/stretch rigged clothes what is the magic then is there a script or a trick or what? thanks for responding !
  5. please help, i rigged a ring on 3 bodies and i checked how they look in stand pose view and they looked fine but then when my avatar moves his hands it looks deformed and i dont understand why? i exported with avastar on blender 2.79 after rigging and im not sure whats the problem

  7. Buenas a todos. Mi problema es que desde hace un tiempo vengo subiendo a SL algunas creaciones y de todas ellas, solo la primera subió con sus texturas, luego ya no pude volver a hacer uso de esa opción. Esta es la primera vez que intento subir un mesh con rig y tampoco me aparece la opción para subirlo con pesos de piel, ¿algún consejo?. Aclaro que usé Blender 2.79, 2.78 y 2.77 y Firestorm para SL 5.1 y 5.0 y nada. Tampoco utilizo Avastar, es que solo necesito los huesos de la cabeza, cuello y parte superior de la espalda. Agradezco mucho su atención.

    Legacy Rigging

    Hi! I'm creating some mesh nails and I want to rig them for the legacy body. I'm currently using the legacy devkit provided on mighty ginkgo's website as the rest of their devkits have done the job. When I open the legacy dev kit theres only two bones (a main hand bone controlling the 4 fingers, and a bone controlling the thumb). On other devkits they've had 3 bones in the finger for each section. I'm wondering how I could rig mesh nails to the body with the bones provided, looking on MP it's possible but I;m not entirely sure how. Any tips/advice at all is appreciated! :}

I do have Avastar but it seems to be too much of a challenge for me, so I am looking to hire someone to rig it for me for SL. The model is roughly based on the Aesthetic body. I will pay 60$ USD to for someone to rig it and paint the weights properly. It is meant to be fitted mesh.

  14. I am currently attempting to upload rigged custom mesh hands. Although... when i get the chance to upload both hands to secondlife, this appears differently on SL, rather than how it looks in blender. in blender, they look completely normal with no ridged edges. They bend normal in blender, they just look so much better in blender. The weights are fine, unless that's the main problem here? However i originally deleted the right hand and mirrored the left one to the right side. So that when edit the left hand, it will symmetrically edit the right hand too. So i'm confused if the weights of the left hand is now on the right hand, yet the right hand are attached to the right hand weights? i'm just really confused at this point. How could i fix this? so that my hands don't look like i shoved them in a food processor? 🙂

  16. Hello everyone, I just wonder if there any bento head dev kit i can use for making a good a BENTO beard and rig it? I have another ideas in my mind but i just wanto to make sure finding a dev kit for using on different heads . I dont want to customers waste their money just want to make a good work.
  17. im using blender 2.7. i rig two year ago and took a brake and now back. An old avatar i had made clothing for and rigged in the past and when i upload it doesn't attach as a rig anymore an just an object. i try bento skeleton. basic skeleton. everything move fine in blender. i try avastar and even old rigging method before avastar days. i even try a basic rig box. when i upload and click weight box on sl to upload. it shows that it weight to the body and moving and bending but when i upload and attach it act like and object and can resize move etc on the avatar. i try beta server. try a different computer. basic blender with no add on. i even downloaded the sl basic viewer. had a friend screenshare and made sure i was doing thing correctly and it even puzzled them on why its not working. sl upload gave no error warning. try different selection method to export to make sure i was not doing anything wrong. i probably am doing something wrong though lol. i find. alot of tutorial are outdated maybe?
  18. SO! To start off, I am making a bodysuit for the Signature Alice mesh body. Since it’s a new body I like quite a bit, want clothing, sell clothing, etc. I got the Dev Kit, but I replaced the armature/pose with the workbench on one of Avastar’s blog post. (NOT the plugin you buy). The devkit armature didn’t work, so thats why. I tried to bento skeleton but I couldn’t seem to get the grid to recognize the skin weights. So I’m trying with the default, non-bento armature. I used the weight transfer option when attaching the bodysuit to the pose/armature as well. Which makes it rigged perfectly to how I want it to be so far. NOW. When I upload to the beta grid to test, everything is fine... BUT. It is not deformed to the Signature Alice mesh body (which I have on the file for reference). It looks more deformed for the classic avatar? I was wondering if anyone who has dealt with rigging clothes to a mesh body has any tips or tricks to deal with this? I am using Blender 2.8 (which so far does the same thing as 2.79 and honestly has an easier UI than 2.79). I do NOT have the Avastar plugin (don’t plan on having it anytime soon). I am using a default, non-bento skeleton (couldn’t get the bento skin weights recognized). And I am a complete beginner at this. XD I literally started less than a week ago. My Process ——— Rig bodysuit to armature using Armature Deform with Weight (something) Rigged perfectly fine. Export as DAE file and choosing the dropdown option for SL+OpenWorld rigged Upload (all good so far yepperz) Wear Rigged good... ... ..Not deformed to mesh body (Signature Alice)... TLDR: I got a mesh body devkit (Alice Signature) switched armature to default non bento skeleton because the devkit one wasn’t recognized as well as the bento skeleton, rigged it well (great even if I say so), upload normal with all the skin weight checkbox... but it isn’t deformed to the meshbody from the devkit. So I’m asking how to get it where it is scaled and deformed to the mesh body. Do not have Avastar and using Blender 2.8 btw.
  19. Hello! I'm trying to rig a bento hand for avatar, but every time unsuccessfully. Can someone give a link to a good non - Avastar tutorial or explain in your own words what I'm doing wrong? here is the process i use: -- downloaded bento workbench from this site. -- opened in a blender. -- I create an object (hand). -- I place the object and the skeleton on one layer. -- I select object, then a skeleton. -- I hit control + P. -- I choose the Armature deform -- With automatic weights. -- I check if it works in a Pose Mode. -- I export in a collada format with object and skeleton both selected. -- These are the settings I set when exporting. -- When uploading a model, this is the screen (weights and joints are not displayed). that's all. I do not use Avastar, because I am not familiar with it. can this be done without it? what am I doing wrong? With a regular skeleton rig, everything works out perfectly, the process is the same. How is bento different from normal besides more bones? And do i need to delete unused bones? Please, help!

Does anyone know where I can download the mesh with all the bones as a file that can be imported to blender? thanks
  21. Hello, I'm looking for a rigger as I'm trying to create clothes for the first time. I'm entirely useless when it comes to rigging, I've tried dozens of times and only achieved loss of keyboard buttons. I don't know how riggers work and/or what is required or how much it costs, but I'd appreciate it a lot if all of this is explained either here or in SL.   23. I'm new to avastar and I use blender. I messed up the weight on one part of my model and now I'm stuck, long story short I ended up removing all the weight on that bone. My question is pretty obvious, how do I copy the original weight of that bone back to my model, but only that bone while keeping the rest of the weights untouched. I'm desperate for answers, I don't wanna have to redo the whole process. Please help me.

Okay so I took Signature Gianni Rigged body and exported it as .dae file , including armature and checked "deformed bones only" , then I imported that dae file in Marvelous designer and when i move the bones the mesh does not move with them, it seems unrigged. Please help me figure out what I'm missing what I'm doing wrong. I checked Forums and Youtube but nop no answers related to this issue

Hello, i'm Nicholas and i'm learning how to make clothes for SL, i have a big problem and i don't know how to fix, i make everything right for make a fitted pants, and in blender i saw everything ok, when i make the upload for SL the pant not fit well, i really need help. i tryed first make to belleza jake mesh body, and i thought that maybe could be the dev kit, but i tryed with others bodys and the same happen, so is not a problem in dev kits i think. I know that in sl image is missing some parts of pants but the problem is that not fit well.
