Let's compare some of the menus in the two viewers.    Here's the first one on the left on the Official Viewer, next to the first on on Firestorm.   Different names, and completely different items.

Unless you're using the same viewer as the person to you're trying to explain how to do something, the result is going to be total confusion.

Just proves that Firestorm *IS* what the LL viewer should be.

I was a volunteer for the original XOOM clip art thing in the late 90s for their message board.  The IRS got on their rear and they closed the boards.  A staff did make a board on DelphiForums for a short  time until that was eliminated.

Having a grounding in the official viewer first actually makes that transition easier. Firestorm is an overwhelming pig for a brand new user.

I might help work on Catznip, but I honestly don't care what viewer people use. So long as they use something and log in and have fun.

I'll disagree with you on that one coffee.  Firestorm in its phoenix mode is so easy to use as based on the old v1

Use the ll viewer? That'd be like going from using a NASA super computer to a zx81

Given the amount of frozen water and chocolate confectionery we see on the forums and welcome areas this is a disaster waiting to happen.

maybe next time ask Support for help directly/restart the sim yourself.

 

you'll get help MUCH faster rather than running to the forums to get your post count up intentionally, and avoid the keyboard warriors doing nothing but waffling.

Just an FYI here - the LL support bot can't seem to restart Linden homes regions, so if you are trying to use live chat, say "talk to an agent" to get a Linden staffer and ask them to restart your Linden Home region.

you know, as in actually asking the people who can help, rather than just posting wiffly waffly answers.  it took me exactly 24.3 seconds to get boxy to initiate the restart.

There are dozens of rezzing areas in the blake sea and other ocean Sims, some adjoining land so it's not like there's nowhere to rez your boats for sailing.

If you file a support ticket and ask, they can provide you with a list associated with a specific email address.  You'll need to verify your secret question with them, and to reset passwords for any long forgotten account.
