Let's all just ask ourselves how we really would feel if we were official mentors and oldbies were coming along to observe or otherwise. It does appear to be rather undermining.

Perhaps it would be best if oldbies just stayed away from the Welcome Hubs and left it to the official mentors. After all, there are plenty of people to advise here on the forums and in world in groups.

Biggest problem I can see is specific people who post on the forums but are renowned for posting incorrect information.

If I was a mentor, that would be a nuisance as the mentors apparently have been trained to provide correct information, to see someone spouting incorrect information.

London City is a good example of how a Welcome Hub should be setup. There are several single player games there, poker, a pizza game (you can win L$2), shops, an area for busking, and generally a small circle of people staring at each other, with two or three people in the group conversing in voice.

    No, it's not.

It's the worst place on the entire grid to start out.

I won't start posting more ref sensitive people

BUT avoid it, like the plague.

  3. Like I said earlier in this thread, if you're an EU/UK user, file a GDPR request with any company that you have ever dealt with.

I've had some big successes in getting my personal data deleted entirely from some online services.

Currently, I've several GDPR complaints open with META regarding my personal data that have been forwarded to the UK ICO.

The GDPR is a game changer.

Got it, so it's not a new issue with Meta.

*currently has formal GDPR complaints open with instagram*

as in, filed with the UK ICO.

if you're in the UK/EU do NOT underestimate what the GDPR can do for you and your data

also, a uk gym chain - my data deleted

a streaming platform - my data entirely deleted

my local council - SCREAM when i contact them

cold calls - thing of the past when you make a GDPR complaint over them having your contact details that you didn't consent to them having. (that's a BIGGY)

That's not as true as you probably think. Unless you do a lot of esoteric tech updating a RESET will restore the drivers the computer came with. The older the computer gets the more out of date they are.

When Windows goes online to update drivers it does a rather poor job. Plus the people making drivers tend to post to their own websites first to pull people they can show their NEW stuff. too. So... good up-to-date drivers are harder to find, I suspect, than most people think.

    Check your graphics driver versions.

I found that out the hard way, when I restored my own PC.  The graphics were appalling to the point I couldn't even log onto Second Life.

However, when I went onto the manufacturer's website for my graphics card (in this case Nvidia) they had a tool to scan for the card, and give you the most up to date driver.  Now my Second Life graphics are turbo charged.

  6. unlike you unhelpful lot, last night I reached out to an SL friend who is religious and asked her if she could help out.

She told me she has reached out to the OP with details of an active Christian group with names/location etc. via a Christian friend of hers.

What makes it all the more better, said friend is an active Muslim.

Perhaps food for thought for some of you.

Nah. I'm thinking it's the other way around they were far more successful than they anticipated and am now ruling out how far they can go with the user base😂

Don't care how many subscription levels they have - for a company with a worldwide user base that runs 24/7 give us the 24/7 live support we should have as standard.

True, however those kind of people tend to be the architects that my clients left and went elsewhere because said architect still couldn't take the criticism from the clients and stakeholders about their OWN building requirements.

I've employed plenty of such architects as well that have the mentality they had in uni insisting that criticism isn't allowed as their way is better or "that's the design I came up with the client has not right to criticise it". Such employees either adapted to taking the criticism or were fired.

In this case users are the client to the moles/LL and users have every right to spout their criticism, feedback, etc to ensure that their experience is improved which includes improving retention. Just like those architects the moles and LL have the right to not accept it, however the clients also have the right to go elsewhere.

Considering this entire new project was to improve retention, after LL have failed at welcome area retention about 7 times/builds. Perhaps its about time they start listening to that feedback/criticism seeing as they themselves know those 'clients' are going elsewhere and want to stop that.

Big difference between criticism and downright moaning.

Is that a rather rude and subtle hint of "if you think you can do better do it yourself"? If it is, I would be rather surprised considering such a response came from a mole.

Not sure what you are suggesting (other than the afore mentioned) as that link doesn't address any of the issues I raised or suggestions I made, which frankly are legitimate concerns. This is an area new people will be exploring. Those same persons probably want to see something that is near perfect like they experience elsewhere in other games.

Abnor took the wind out of your sails alright 😂😂😂😂

should, if you like, AR them anyway . . . although I wouldn't count on LL doing anything about them, to be honest.

Actually they DO do something.  I've reported hundred undeclared bots and they're all gone from sl search.

If something actually is a tos violation they'll act
