So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Rowan Amore replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
I just wouldn't want my child account connected to adult products but that just me. If I were to have a child avatar account, it would be in no way connected to my adult. -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?

Children are allowed on moderate land so selling moderate items on the MP wouldn't be a problem. If it were adult, personally, I'd use another account to be safe. -
Premium comes with 1024 tier allowance. You can choose a free Linden Home or you may purchase a 1024 mainland parcel. If you choose mainland, you pay the.price.the seller is asking or request Linden Lab sell you an abandoned 1024 sized parcel. Any amount over your free 1024 will incur an additional cost. A few articles to read about land. https://secondlife.com/land/pricing

So what changed in the Terms of Service?

So you're saying, LL banned him, someone spending hundreds of dollars each month because of a report by a vindictive ex for absolutely no reason? What would their reasoning be to do that? He said he appealed so.he was getting communications. They DO tell you what you did as I've seen that exact AP ban email.someone posted on another website. How exactly can LL be transparent about something like this without exposing themselves to a libel suit? They're doing it just for sh*ts and giggles? Since no one but the banned person knows about it for certain, they can't be doing it to "show they're doing something" about AP when they can't show anyone except the one involved. Does anyone think it would be hard for LL to check chat logs for a specific avatar on a specific day at a specific time to check? All.the report would need to provide is those dates and times. I keep my chat logs. I can find what anyone said to me on any given day. They can, too. -
SL Events - Fair Use Competition
Rowan Amore replied to Winter Silversmith's question in Everything Else
You're allowed 15 event postings per day. You can not use alts to increase that amount however, if your parcel is set as a hangout in search, your friends can also post events. https://secondlife.com/my/community/events/tos You may currently post up to 15 events per day (including event edits). In addition, your friends will now be able to post events on a parcel that you own. However, you must set that parcel to show up in Find Places as a Hangout. If your parcel is not set up as a Hangout, the parcel will not be available to your friends, but will continue to be subject to other availability rules. -

Unless...For the more severe offenses, the immediate action will still be to terminate their access to Second Life. -

Even I, with no legal background whatsoever, could have worded that one single line in the ToS and the reply in the FAQ so there was no room for interpretation. Why didn't they do that? -

So basically, a rule doomed to fail as written. Sounds about right. -

Exactly. That avatar you're wearing without the panels.can't be worn but anyone can edit Maitreya down to younger teen size and wear that one. Only specific requirement I can see is no nudity. -

Do they really not know.that all child avatars don't use child specific bodies? Sorry but obviously some of us interpret the rules one way and some another. This is definitely going to cause issue. What is implied needs to simply be stated unequivocally and it does not do that... Obviously -

Is it splitting hairs? Damn right. LL.being clear as mud shouldn't be surprising. We're going to be in the same boat if they don't clarify this rule.specifically. -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Rowan Amore replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
The answer was even somewhat ambiguous... Q: I already have a child avatar that does not have a built in modesty layer. Can I still use that since I purchased it already? A: No. Going forward, child avatars will be prohibited from being fully nude. Why didn't they simply say...no child avatars can not wear any body that doesn't have a modesty panel. If someone switches from Tweenster because it has no built in panels to Maitreya flat or petite, then they aren't using their current body that doesn't have the panels. In two places, all they've really specified is.you can't be naked. -

Residents presenting as Child.Avatar shall be prohibited from being naked. The next sentence is about content creators being required to add.the panels. Where does it say that child avatars must wear content from child content creators with modesty panels? -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Rowan Amore replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
No where does it say the child avatar MUST wear them. If I missed that, someone show.me. Even when asked in the FAQ, the reply was the same. They did not say they must wear anything only that they couldn't be naked. An oversight? Perhaps but wording is important. -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Rowan Amore replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
Yes. Being fully naked. The next part is for content creators regarding modesty panels. No where does it say...child avatar must wear a specific skin or body or use the modesty panels. They just can't be naked. -
So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Rowan Amore replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
There is nothing in the rules that specifically says child avatars must wear modesty panels. They just can't be naked. Creators of child specific bodies and skin must include those modesty panels. Even in the FAQs, it's kind of ambiguous Q: I already have a child avatar that does not have a built in modesty layer. Can I still use that since I purchased it already? A: No. Going forward, child avatars will be prohibited from being fully nude. Why did they not just answer...No, going forward, child avatars must have a modesty panel. One of those things that they'll need to clarify since THE major issue for most. ETA..from the actual policy page and what child avatars are prohibited from doing... Being fully nude. Child avatar content creators are required to add a modesty layer which is baked into child avatar skins or bodies, is not transparent, does not match the skin tone, and may not be removed. -

IF I were trying to change in public, which I rarely do, I'd either toss on some BoM undies first or simply put on the new before taking off the old. Sometimes works and sometimes not depending on if the items have auto hide. That's why I prefer doing all that at home. -

Seeing as how a 13 yr old is considered a child avatar, they couldn't BE on adult.land and certainly couldn't engage in adult activity. They couldn't as child avatars before the new rules. -

No way in hell would we have let our 14 yr old daughter have a tiny bikini or skirts so short her cheeks hung out. You know what? She hated us at times, too as she should. As a 30+ year old now, she understands why. Just because something is sold for children doesn't mean it should be and it angers me when some parents allow it. We do these things to protect our children from unwanted attention. -

Then I apologize. Humor doesn't always translate so well in text. These forums could use a humor font. 🤗 -

Well, I did control my young son with a plastic ring leash as I mentioned. Control meaning follow, tp, whatever in the context of SL. Or were you just being funny? -
If you've chosen a skin from the HUD, it means you've turned OFF the BoM. Unless you wear.the alpha included with the Jake body, your underlying system body shows through.
