for hire LTC IS HIRING, THERAPY WORK IN SL 🥼🗂️✍️🗣️
Rowan Amore replied to Chaynerdbin's topic in Inworld Employment
I would suggest you also make it obvious that it is RP only. I don't see any mention of that on your socials. Studying psychology and having a degree are vastly different. It takes 8-12 years to become a licensed psychologist. -
Diversity and Inclusion in Second Life
Rowan Amore replied to Love Zhaoying's topic in General Discussion Forum
You do all realize that a lot of men in those black supremacist groups aren't actually black men in RL? Some white men make black male avatars because white female avatars often have a specific fetish in regard to black males so they have upped their chances of getting some SLex by quite a lot. Interestingly, a lot of those white females are also piloted by...white men. As far as the misogyny goes, SOME women allow it and actively look for it. Sometimes, we can be our own worst enemies. -
Diversity and Inclusion in Second Life

But wouldn't that then have to apply to gender as well? If it doesn't matter what someone is behind the avatar, as you have said yourself, why does it apply to race? Is it fine to use a male avatar as a female but not a white avatar as a black female? I think a lot has to do with not having a variety of choices where skins were concerned. When I started SL, there were 2 stores that catered to African American skins. A few more came along over the years until today where you can find them everywhere. And well done, too. -
So, you're someone completely different inworld? You've said in the past you're not into RP and you play SL as yourself. Which is it? Is this the real you or the one inworld?

Bet you meant to post in the General Discussion forum and not the Land General Discussion. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/321-general-discussion-forum/

Just for clarification. From the US census bureau...2024 Even though a lot of the United States is, by definition, rural, very little of the population fully resides in rural areas. Though many speak of how nice it would be to move out to the country, it makes sense that few actually do so.

those deals were MONTHLY. $5.50 per month for a Basic Premium account and $8.25 per month for Premium. If you paid for one after the other had expired already, then you wouldn't be getting a refund for the first month.

Many different pose stores have static standing poses or slightly animated one. If you're on Firestorm, you can use the built in AO and add poses that you like. It's much cheaper than purchasing an entire AO with things you may not like in them. Stun Poses, Secret Poses, Versuta, Mirinae are just a few stores you could check.

Maybe we can leave the RL psycho-babble out of the thread as it's basically irrelevant in regards to SL.

What's funny is that the oh so aggressive male IMing has no idea who is behind the female avatar. Is he messaging another aggressive male or perhaps an aggressive female? It's honestly kind of silly to equate what happens in RL situations to SL situations. It's actually a great place for women to empower themselves by not putting up with it. Ignore, block and move on with your SL with no repercussions.

Last I checked, no one is getting murdered in SL so the whole 'men are more aggressive and therefore kill more women than women kill women is completely irrelevant in the context of SL. No matter how one chooses to deal with unwanted IMs, the only sure way to avoid them is to do as the OP has done. Shut off IMs from non-friends. Period. People have been sending unwanted sexual IMs since I started SL. I choose to not be offended by them. I simply ignore them or say No Thanks. Ignore then block also works to avoid any ranting about why you didn't respond. Honestly, it's the exact same as I'd do in a RL situation at a club. Someone wants to buy me a drink or dance and I'd decline. The great thing about SL is afterward, you have no fear of them following you home and harming you. They just cease to exist if you block them. With that said and the fact I rarely get IMs at all, I have received them from women, too. And, the male friends have informed me that women can be just as nasty and aggressive when IMing about SLex. Men just don't complain about it. They handle it however they choose at that moment. Some may take them up on the offer, some may not. The issue with women is that there are a lot of women who DO respond favorable to these types of IMs so...they try it until they get an OK!

LL doesn't even have a bare minimum graphics card mentioned anymore although they did in the past. All they say now is minimum OpenGL 3.2 and recommended Open GL 4.1. Being a non-tech person, that means nothing to me. 🤣

I was typing my response and took a phone call so I didn't see yours before I posted. I suppose this might be why the IMs I do get are respectful for the most part. As I mentioned, even those who might be looking for a hookup do so without being nasty. I'm always polite when I decline and honestly, don't get offended or bothered by them. It's SL. It happens.

Actually, I think it's because of how you look from what I've been told by male friends. Someone who is extremely well put together is intimidating.

That's been my experience in the past few years as well. I don't care where I go, I almost never get unwanted IMs. The ones I do get are generally respectful and usually lead to a.pleasant conversation. Even the occasional one hinting at slex aren't bad. A simple "no thanks" is enough. No one has gotten upset or rude.

Actually, BOM has no effect on complexity. It would actually lower it if you're using Maitreya as you wouldn't need the extra body additions that use appliers.

Marketplace reviews, what is the point anymore.

There are actual RL ramifications if you falsely accuse someone of this. They also require your RL contact info and some sort of proof. i. a subject line that says: "DMCA Copyright Infringement Notice"; ii. your complete contact information, including your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address; iii. a description of the copyrighted work or works that you claim have been infringed; iv. information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the specific allegedly infringing material on our site, including the URL where the content appears, or other means of identifying the allegedly infringing content with particularity; v. a statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner asserted is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; vi. a statement under penalty of perjury, that all the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner (or, if you are not the copyright owner, then your statement must indicate that you are authorized to act on the behalf of the copyright owner); and, vii. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name will serve as your electronic signature).
