It also allows people to do wonderful and imaginative things and to share of themselves in ways they might not otherwise. You'll have to thicken your skin, temper your expectations, work on your patience and believe that there are neat people here. And I apologize for swearing at you when you came out of your house the other day. I mistook you for my *^@#$ neighbor. ;-). Oh Maddy, you make me laugh And then I remembered this.....Monty Python: The Argument Clinic

  4. I didnt understand this also...I have noticed some dance clubs ban 'furries' but now I see its because of 'ambience' OK, this makes some sense. One day Im getting an alt>>furries. I think it would be fun to be a cat or similar.
  5. Im loving Amethyst suggestion...come back and let us know if it works. And good luck.
  6. Here s how I learnt to do mine, Hoppi (and if I can doit...anyone can) http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Your-Avatar/How-to-create-a-cool-forum-avatar-badge/m-p/707025#M190

  8. Well done Hoppimike...you have mastered a lot in such a short time. And Karen...can you include me in invitation with Hoppi & Maddy, would love to come over.
  9. I like to read reviews ...so I try to go back and leave one too. Trouble is I usually do this if I like a product and not so much if I dont. Lately I discovered, under my name in market place...a drop down menu that takes me to all the purchases I have made (my order history) and I can go back easier to those products to give review. Once I reviewed a wonderful wall clock and the merchant sent me a thankyou note and the story how he came to make it....it was a memorial to his partner who loved butterflies. Now I love it even more. A couple of times I have bought clothes that offer gift vouchers for reviews and they have been honoured.
  10. Its the same in rl. Guess it depends on your group. Ive learnt not to take offence easy in sl..its best just to enjoy or laugh things off...not get seroius
  11. haha...not the result I was expecting but more truth to it
  12. Phil Deakins wrote: This thread has too many new pagefuls of posts for me to read all the way through........ Well I have read all the posts and they are interesting. Yes took a while Phil, so I know where you were coming from. Good discussion I thought. I cant offer any help about the rules of spam or not spam.... still learning things here. And I havent been approached by someone advertising but if I was once it might be ok but I can see if it became a practice with many, it would spoil my sl time...which already is so precious. I make it a rule to answer anyone who comes to chat so you wouldnt be ignored....just after that offer I might (probably would).
  13. Conifer Dada wrote: Now we've got cheese to go with all that daily spam :smileylol:
  14. Im a sucker for cheese too. Favourite being open grill toast with bacon, onion, banana toppped with cheese.
  15. Sy Beck wrote: No worries anybody who is using Heartbleed and has access to SL users accounts and/or their passwords will only be interested in the rich and important so 100% of SL users can rest easy. :smileywink: Im safe then lol
  16. Czari Zenovka wrote: Thank you, Darrius, for further explaining this issue - I'd been hearing about it on the news but wasn't sure if I needed to change my passwords; and thank you so much, Tex, for providing the website to check which sites need password changes. That was extremely helpful. I add my thanks too...to Czari's I had not read about this before here (too busy with exams I guess) so thanks. Not read all the links yet, so not sure how it effects me yet.

  18. Qie Niangao wrote: ... and further on the plus side, it's some relief to know the thread is really gone and it's not the ol' hysterical blindness flaring up. Does seem an odd topic to need blocking but I trust it's because the solution is in place and we'll never have occasion to think of it again. I knew Id said somthing in that thread too...and was looking for it, glad Im not mad either And I agree...does not seem something that required deleting! Maybe it was the title that sent up the Red Flag.
  19. I was the same Morgan...I hung out in the forest, learning how to do things before I was confident to go places. I did talk to people who I saw there a few times and two of them are still my good friends now. Ive been around year now and still make mistakes but I dont worry so much now. I came to this forum much later. Wish Id come here first. Its a great place to get your questions answered. Perseverance is my best advice....try and practice until you get there....its fun even if it doesnt go right.
  20. I had same thought Innula Zenovka wrote: Oh. I was rather hoping someone was opening a club for furry rocks, sort of like mossy ones but covered in fur. ETA At bit like these delightful chaps, only more so:
  21. I noticed the spellcheck was gone so Im happy another has arrived to replace it. Not that incorrect spelling worries me (in others posts)...as long as I understand the meaning, I dont care. But for some reason I always leave off the R when writting 'your' and this doent ever get picked up in spell check..maybe because it more gramma than spelling, I dont know.
  22. After spam, spam and pages of more spam here and getting really pissed off decided to go to youtube and saw this.... Now Im smiling.
  23. I think the best thing you did was to dissociate yourself from that person. They didnt want to listen to you and seemed intent on accusing you for some reason they had. Nice people would have been helpful instead. Dont take it too badly. At least you can come here and tell us what happened
