  1. There are lagit ways of makeing L$ in world. Most places don't hire noobs less then 60 days old. So be patiant. Learn, explore, and enjoy SL in the mean time.
  2. I have never been one to like alot of rules in RP. But, there are the TOS issues. Face it griefing is highly against LLs TOS agreement. I certainly wont be going back there and know quite a few others from that sim who are migrating over to a better run urban rp sim. Kinda makes me wonder what the owners RL is like as well as the griefing gangsters. But yes staying away is best and thats what I plan on doing not to mention tell everyone I know about the place. I have been told that it continues to go down hill more and more every day. I suspect that sim will not be around a year from now or less. It's sad that sim owners let things get that bad where griefers do as they please and dispite having rules, some people play unfair in combat. Oh well.
  3. This link might explain more about the sim and whats going on. I din't write this blog post. Some else did. But, it shares similer expieriences about the sim as I found. http://squeak-yognaught.tumblr.com/post/53763276559/traveling-second-life-exploring-outside-the-mainland
  4. You can try going onto SLs main website and log in. It sould show your status there. If you own land and forgot to pay teir fees they can suspend your account till you pay. That happend to me. But check your status on SLs main site first.
  5. I have trouble keeping up with one lol. ALthough I do have an alt I hardly ever use. I dont know how people have more then a couple.
  6. I have been hanging out at this one urban combat sim lately. Lately they have had gangbangers lately doing anything they feel like it even if its against sim rules. This includes griefing and harrassment of the reguler users. Yet, the sim owner refuses to do anything. My question is, can the sim own be held liable for alowing the sims users to violate TOS?
  7. That has happend to me several times. I decline ALL bite requests. They get mad and grief. I don't think much of the bloodlines clans. I am in the BDSM community and as such we have certain rules and protocal unwritten that we go by. Like never binding the unwilling. I assume Vampire clans are the same way. Maybe not.
  8. This happend to a club full of people yuesterday. The DJ thaught it was on their end. Good to know the DJs not at fault on this one.
  9. Thats why I find nice big sims to fly on and mainly fly on one sim or another.
  10. Absolutly I agree with you 100%. Clubs need DJs, DJs need Hosts. As for the expense it takes alot of L to have a club. DJs and hosts help bring in people. People bring more people if they like the place. Clubs come and go because alot of owners have high hopes. They start out big emplamenting big ideas from the start. For instant trying to have 24/7 events right out of the gate. Dreaming big is fine, just make sure you are realistic at the same time. To end off, staff has to do their part as well. Without the right staff doing their job and bringing people in, the club goes nowhere.
  11. I host and have for a while. Doesnt matter what genra. The job of a host/ess I see is this. A good host or hostess is there to suport the DJ. That means when people come in you welcome them. In your welcome every once in a while let them know who the DJ is. Promote requests and tipping of the DJ as well as Dancers if there are dancers. When I host I am active in local chat. I am constantly/ every 10 minates promoting either Tipping the DJ or letting people know they take requests. A good host is an active host. Just my expierience.
  12. My best advice is just take another pic. It only costs 10L to upload to inventory. Its not worth fighting for. Although alot of copyriting is broken in SL. If you look at everything people make you will see they make things with name brands like Coke, and I even saw a McDonnalds once in SL. Use your best judgment. But, Its just as easy to change the pic.
  13. DJs in SL make fairly good money depending on the club the work. MOst DJs Dj for many clubs. I have been working in SL for a year and 4 months. I save my money and don't spend on much. So invest wisley and save you can make real money in SL
  14. With platforms you don't pay for size. You pay for how many prims you use. Thats why Platforms are cheap.
  15. NOt sure where they come from but that does seem to happen in contests. And it never fails most who come to a club just for the contest usualy don't tip the Host or DJ. Just seems to be a common practice. If you are goign to come and enjoy a clubs contest at least show the staff a little L loving. Just a suggestion. After all contests bring people in they are there for the peoples enjoyment and contests are not cheap to run. Imagine spending 500L per contest with even one contest a day it adds up fast. And thats what the club owner is having to pay out each time. Thats why I don't run contests.
  16. They also have a 10th anniversury bear avi and a hat from what I understand. To my knowlage both are free on MP.
  17. The Linden homes are OK. I had one for a couple of months. Its amazing what you can do with 117 prims. But, considering premium costs about $10 a month and you lose the house if you lose premium. I didn't think that was such a good deal. For my platform I get 60X60 to do whatever I want to with 300 prims. Amazing what 300 prims will do.
  18. Today I was looking around at land just out of curiocity. Currently I rent a decent sized sky platform for reasonably price. Anyway I was looking at buying land perticurly in "estates". I noticed small partials teir fees go for more then what I pay in rent. I would love to find land I can buy without having to pay every week or every month. Whats the point in paying teir fees.after buying something. Might as well rent. Just my opinion.
  19. There are places where it alows you to set home possion. Newbia has a small sandbox for that. Also certain places will let you set home loction long as your a member of their group. I do find that wearable homeless tent interesting considering they want 500L for the thing lol. Another option is there are realy cheap 25-50L a week apartments. Just have to know where to look.
  20. You seem to get banned alot. Yes there are idiots that run alot of the sims. Personaly I would stick to those sims that like you and ivce versa. If you go to a sim where you are unsure of the rules, ask before doing anything. There are sim owners where that wouldn't mater. Alot of sims have rediculous rules and don't care what their users think. Thats not a very good attitude to have. It loses visiters fast. Perhaps all these bans are telling you try opeing your own.
  21. Feel free to shoot me an IM in world. I can think of lots of NON club things to do inworld thats fun.
  22. I have always thaught it anoying when even a skirt or shoes come with a note card. The simplest things come with note cards and is unneccery. Same with the email notifications. I am in some realy active groups and it can clog up email. I could go on lol but I won't.
  23. The invissable man or woman in the makeing. Intresting.
  24. I have seen in world where if you have an inworld compter or tv, you can view youtube. Also I think you can go onto facebook if I am not mistaen. So in a way SL is going in that direction where you can use your avi in world to view the internet.
