  1. If Paypal or Skrill is not available to you and you are in a "developed" country. You should ask yourself why these services are not available to you. Usually it has something to do with the political and economical climate in your country. That is not something Linden Lab is to blame for and they cannot solve it either. I think cryptocurrencies are still too young and to volatile to be used as a serious way of doing business. I am against implementing them into Second Life.
  2. I was blessed with a gift from MrAnonyMoose as well. It was some floating lanterns that will be put to very good use on our region. Thank you very much and Merry Moosemas to you all!

Flickr is used a lot but isn't a blog
  4. All of what you say is true and all of it substantiates my theory. We are damned if we do and damned if we don't.
  5. That is what is happening. If you do not participate, people will start to skip your brand and if you do participate you are basically loosing money. I follow groupchats for some major brands and people blatantly ask for promos and when certain items will be on sale. It is a downward spiral.
  6. Marketing these days is all about creating a demand. People make products and then whole campaigns are launched so people feel they just need to have that product. It sounds harsh but these days, demand isnt natural or out of necessity, it is carefully groomed by brands. Tesla is a good example (hate that brand). They carefully constructed their marketing and are now a "have-to-have" brand for a lot of people.
  7. I cannot say much about the land business because i am not active in it. So i will not make any statements about that. I am active in the vehicle business. I never did gachas because i detest them. I think they are predatory. My business was not affected much by the ban on them, at least not that i can see in my figures. What i mentioned before and Prok mentioned as well, is that reduced price events are having a big effect on my sales. People are being spoiled by getting high ticket goods at price under 100L$. I think this is also effecting the big events because people will rather wait for the event release to pop up in a low price sale a few months later. They don't need the latest and greatest anymore, they will just wait and get it at a bargain price. I occasionally participate in these sales but not with my big event releases. I have special products for them that weren't expensive in the first place and they sell like hot cakes. But you have to sell a lot of them to make a decent income. I did not participate in Halloween. I dislike the holiday. Therefor i cant say much about sales results there. I did do a Black Friday sale. From Thursday until Monday. As usual, this was a big success. Sales figures comparable to last years. When i had to do a relog last night, i saw there were roughly 45000 people online, that is not bad either. The customer base is there, a creator just has to be really active and hands-on to tap into it. You have to be active on social media, your ads need to look great, you have to be in events for "exposure"". More than ever people buy the brand and the product comes second. Overall, my income is doing well and increasing. I have been working hard for the last 1.5 years to reposition my brand and it is paying off. It just isn't like 2008-2010 anymore, where quality was the deciding factor in whether you did well or not. Nowadays, it is your brand image. In conclusion: It is very much possible to have a healthy business in SL, but you have to really be involved in it and follow the times.
  8. I am not saying that they should be coddled. I am just saying that we should not exploit them either.
  9. Everybody has a weak spot. You can talk about personal responsibility but sometimes you have to be compassionate and help protect people against themselves. But i guess in the "Me Me Me"' era, that is a lost concept.
  10. The thing hurting creators the most is the downward price spiral caused by events (mostly weekends ones) that demand stuff to be on sale for 50-60-75 L$. People are getting spoiled by low prices and now dont want to pay normal rates for goods anymore. They will even flat out ask for cheap and free goods in a creators group and get sassy when a creator says they wont supply them that time.
  11. I am always puzzled how people cannot know the answer to their security question? Just give an honest answer when you set it up and it should be something you never forget?
  12. Regions are being taken down for a restart but do not come back. Half the grid is already turning red.
  13. As far as i know, a creator is not allowed to take down and relist it. But they would also shoot themselves in the foot because they would loose their ranking in the listings. As far as the system being biased to the creator; i am glad it is. You have no idea how much nonsens we have to deal with. So i am glad that i can pick who i dont want to do business with.
  14. Avi-glam is my go-to brand, they do amazing work
  15. Time for a change! Since my old mesh head wasn't being updated and i was seriously limited in the skin and make-up choices, i made the difficult choice to upgrade.
  16. That is your personal opinion. I think i have a pretty good grasp on what is going on in Second Life through my activities. If one keeps looking, one will always find "evidence" for any theory. No matter how ludicrous.
