  1. for other users who are allowed in skill gaming regions, but wish to voluntarily choose to exclude themselves from skill gaming is what I meant
  2. True, so it shouldn't be hard to offer an option on the account page to prohibit users from entering skill gaming regions. This is assuming that once the option is enabled, it cannot be easily disabled.
  3. Do you think the gaming operator has no responsibility? Responsible gambling is not a concept that I made up, it already exists throughout the gaming industry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsible_gambling If the provider of such games gives the option of self-exclusion, then the player can also act responsible by using that option.
  4. Skill gaming is legally defined as not a game of chance, however, the consequences of skill gaming are the same as gambling. The price to play skill games starts at L$ 1 and it can go all the way up to L$ 100,000 per play. Players can lose a lot of money and it certainly can have a negative effect on their real life. I looked and I could not find any resources for players who have a skill gaming addiction here in Second Life. I feel that Second Life has an ethical responsibility to provide a responsible gaming environment, especially for users who are experiencing an addiction to skill gaming. One of the things I would like to see is the ability to exclude yourself from skill gaming. The option to exclude yourself is already available at most online gambling sites. Currently, the only option to prevent you from entering skill gaming regions is to remove your payment info. This is not a good option for someone who has a gambling problem as the payment info can easily be added back in about 30 seconds. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this subject.
