  1. If they were to add in a new mainland area then perhaps they could use it to link Gaeta to Corsica and the rest of the grid, maybe, even finish off the East side of it. If they were inclined to test the impact of a new covenant then Gaeta might be a good option, it has been isolated and has traditionally had lowest occupancy rate.
  2. Following on from that thought . changing the way banlines work so they work like a wall you bounce off or edit out of without breaking vehicle scripts would make travel easier, and investing in road and river parcels more appealing.
  3. Originally I was unhappy about the SS Galaxy move, it broke up the route between Honah Lee and Sailor's 'cove South without forewarning to the estate owners who took a few months to replace it. I suppose what happened behind the scenes impossible to be sure of, but the perception was it was done without thought or consultation with the estate owners. That said it is moved now and where it was are now rentals, moving it back is not an option. Where it is is fine it still fulfills a function as a place of interest and can be used as a venue. The first time I visited it was for a friend's wedding, it is nice it can still perform that function. But it's primary function is as a place of interest, people don't need to be visiting it daily to be a success in that regard. So long as it remains somewhere you might want to travel past or show to someone, then it is doing fine. Like the Bremner dinosaurs it is a wonder of prim building. Meshifying it would remove part of its charm. Mesh and materials are great, but let's not get carried away or we lose our history.

  6. One specific example of somewhere really sad that could perhaps do with some love is Frostar, on the east edge of Gaeta iV. It quite possibly is a monument to the end of an era when mainland was being expanded, a rushed ugly expanse of "Palm tree 1"s that don't properly resolve unless you cam to within a few metres of them. I might have previously blamed the moles for this but looking now it looks like a Governor Linden build. the structures are frugal and rundown but not so bad it is the expanse of those ugly palm trees that makes the area an eyesore. Arguably I suppose the austere, rushed lack of love is indicative and a monument to its time and therefore worth preserving because of the way it portrays that, but really even that considered.... please just do something with it instead. Maybe the library palm trees can be universally replaced with something that has a lod factor that works beyond 2 metres, or send a mole there to rip them out and redecorate, put in a park or just nicer trees and some shrubbery, just deleting those trees would be an improvement. It is a glaring exception to the high quality Linden and Moles builds elsewhere.
  7. The argument around resource for enforcement only applies where the rules need to be manually enforced. If enforcement of a rule was automated or if a functionality was removed then there would be no additional resource required. Even when enforcement is required, there may be changes where benefits outweigh resource needed.
  8. I would like to see some active purchasing or reserving from sale parcels being used or that potentially could become protected waterways along areas like west and north nautilus. I think there is potential to increase value and customer experience at a relatively modest cost of time.
  9. I rather like forum as a name, it harks back to Classical Rome, and reminds me of A funny thing happened on the way to the forum and Up Pompeii. Maybe Agora would be better, with a Classical Greek reference point instead.
  10. I came to Secondlife after a stint in the Utherverse\Red Light Centre virtual world. The 5 minutes after the dancing and sexy possibilities had grown dull it was the free home that kept me there and decorating it. Decorating there involved assembling a limited pallet of objects and shapes, and linking textures to them from a photobucket account. With the tools available and a bit of experience and trial and error you could do some pretty amazing things. When I came to SL, and after I got the hang of getting dressed and had decided I was going to stay for a while I was looking for somewhere to call my own. My first land was a sky platform on the Bloodlines\Vampire community land that had got me to join them for cost of my soul and rent. They were my mentors through newbie mistakes and confusions. Like, I had an early freak out over an onduty pregnancy they helped me through. I remember I had some breedable fairies there, they kept breeding and made me unpopular as they left eggs everywhere and kept breeding continually pushing me over my prim limits. I progressed through rentals on private estates to once I had got in to motorbike clubs to group ownership of a full region for building sky roads. For mainland it was the attraction of travelling that got me buying parcels and renting.
  11. I have to go to work, but one last video. Carlos Santana - with Europa. One of the greatest guitar solos of all time.
  12. Cassandra Wilson, singing in homage to Miles Davis
  13. Or maybe prefer something stronger? Straight, no chaser - Thelonius Monk
  14. Tea for two always nice, especially when Art Tatum serving
  15. Molly Bloom's work springs to mind with regard to breaking free from a flat canvas. One of their works as an example captures the stumble of an Alice in wonderland styled Knave or Queen with a pack of cards in their hand, the cards flying out from the frame frozen in a moment. With SL you can create effects that can't be done in real life.
  16. Not just comedy, SL art is a great medium for Trompe L'oeil or for surreal\ post-modern juxtapositions of ideas. Comedy is good but you can also use those techniques to be thought provoking.
  17. Head and shoulders above othe tree house options in my opinion at least is the old Laq Decor Treehouse (now Heima), it does require a 6000m2 parcel though. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/HEIMA-Serene-Tree-Windmill-Home/6876323
  18. Some of my favourite artworks from SL reference SL in some way. Just as examples I have a series that are classic paintings where the humans are replaced by Tinies eg the Nighthawks at the Diner redone with Tinies. Another artist did a cut out avatar with a woman twisted in a scream as she reaches to her bald head - obvious to the observer that her hair hasn't rezzed. Another by an Italian Artist with a framed scene being built with prims complete with cut out long haired male outside the frame arm raised with dotted line extending to a prim he is manipulating within the frame. Not suggesting you copy that exactly, I just think if you can make the art in some way refer to the SL experience it adds a smile and a bit of additional interest.
