  1. Thanks so much... this helped a lot. I think I had this at one point, but was so overwhelmed with everything I was learning that I forgot about it lol. Thanks! I appreciate y'all's help. I have my face figured out now.
  2. Hi. I'm trying to wear makeup on my head instead of using the makeup that is included with the HUD. I don't think I understand quite how it works, even though it's been explained to me several times. The last time it was, I thought that because the makeup is a layer on its own, you must clear the makeup on your head hud so that you will be able to see makeup that you add on. However, I don't know how to get the hud makeup completely cleared on my face. If you look at the pic, my eyeliner is still on...even though I pressed "clear" several times on both layers. I also do not know how to change the HD settings back to clear, and I am wondering if that is what my problem is. This is the barest I could get my lips and eyes (The glitter is an add-on not through the HUD.) In the second picture, I put on my makeup. Although you can see the eye shadow better, the inside corners of my eyes are supposed to look different (something I think is covering the makeup there) and the winged eyeliner is the HUD makeup and not the actual eye shadow. My lips are supposed to be brown, like in the picture circled. Almost half of the colors in the lipstick hud are not the right shade. What could I be doing wrong? I have my hud set to EVO X as well.
  3. Thanks, guys...I think it was actually that I had a body light on and a face light on, and they were conflicting.
  4. I have tried relogging, adding the makeup back on and taking off again...what do I do? Also, when I try on eye shadow, I can only see the outer portion of the lid...on the actual eyelid, that's the eye makeup that I did in my HD portion of my head hud...can they not mix? Thanks.
  5. Is there a way to fix this? I understand that it is two opacities conflicting with one another, but I thought perhaps there may be a setting I could change or something? When I tried the hair on, I didn't have any clipping issues. These are the same eyelashes that I had on before. Example
  6. Thanks so much for that! I think it's best for me to start with prims and work my way up. This gives me a starting point. Thanks so much for your post. It was very informative and helpful. Don't worry about me overwhelming myself. I know what I am in for. You didn't mention that there's also making your ads, your brand, your catalog, etc...it's a lot. And as a "self-taught", I can tell you that I have spent days just on a table top to look nice, so I know all to well how time consuming it can be to make it RIGHT and make it NICE. But thanks for the warning. A lot of people need one. I have seen time and time again when people think "Oh, I can make things and get rich; all these other people just don't know what they're doing..." and they fart around and find out., to their disappointment. Thanks for the support and the information! Especially where to start and begin, and the Builder's Brewery info. I'll be sure to check them out, as it's a big concern of mine, how heavy my products would be In World, and we ALL could use to learn more about that...always room for improvement.
  7. Hello. I want to learn how to create. For some background, years ago, I used to create for IMVU. I made houses, furniture, clothing, hair, accessories, just about anything you can imagine...but I only made textures and created from another artist's meshes. I've got thousands of items in my old catalog, and did my own work. I realize SL is more complicated to create for, and I've been looking in the SL forums and blogs trying to find a good starting point for research, and I really can't find one , lol. I'd like to start at the basics and just work my way up. If anyone has suggestions or links, I would be so very grateful. I am most interested in creating houses, furniture (with animations), clothes, and hair. I am also willing to take In World classes, if there are some really good, verifiable ones out there...I'll pay a fee to learn. I also have some questions... 1. It looks like you can combine different meshes in outfits, for example, and sell them together as an outfit? I have recognized some of the same elements in different outfits and was wondering if this is how that happens. 2. If I were to, say, decide to make hair, what about HUDS? Would I pay someone to make the HUD for me, or how does that work? 3. If you have idea for scripts or products, can you pay someone to make these scripts and products for you and you resell them? 4. Is there a way to find out what mesh a certain product came from? For example, an outfit that has a different opacity map can look different from the other, but they come from the same mesh, but you can trace it back to that main mesh. I also ask this because knowing that you're using the "base" mesh will save size on the product and to also stay true to the original artist of the mesh. I will also confess that sometimes I would see an outfit and realize that I could make something completely different, but that particular mesh actually allows for more detail or the other mesh has more facings, etc.
  8. All I did was click on the "Hide" option in the face HUD. Are they still on? I suppose I need to unhide them and remove them? Ohhhhh that makes sense now! I think I'll need to invest in some makeup. It will be much easier than messing with my HUD all the time between outfits. Thanks for the tips. They all make sense and are super helpful.
  9. 1. How do I change my elf ears back to normal ears? I am wearing a Lelutka 3.0 head. 2. When I save an outfit in my appearance, will it save the color settings for my clothing and the settings I have for my body and head? Like when I adjust my alpha for my body (Reborn) or I change the HD makeup settings and such through my head hud. 3. If I want to start buying and wearing makeup, what do I need to look for, and what are the steps to me wearing that makeup instead of the makeup I have on my head?
  10. Thanks. Most of the stuff I have wishlisted was in World, so I guess that's on Caspervend. How do I get to that? 🙃
  11. I have noticed that some stores, while shopping in the game, have options where you can add items to your wishlist. I have used this option a few times. I have also added to my wishlist via the Marketplace online. When I go to my wishlist, only a few items that I have added via the Marketplace are showing. The other items that I added in game are not showing. Is there two (or maybe more) wishlists? When I add to the wishlist in the game, I have noticed it takes me to a different page that looks to be outside of the Marketplace, so I wondered if there were more than one wishlist?
  12. Thanks everyone. I finally have an image up. I didn't have issues of loss in quality, really. ETA: I cropped my photo in a 1:1 ratio and sized it down by halves, sharpening just a little as I stepped down. I uploaded a 1024x1024, but I also have a 512x512 backup just in case. I appreciate everyone's help.
  13. Posted in wrong forum. Sorry.
  14. Yes, a tutorial I watched recommended this for photos and I forgot to make it smaller and was hoping I wasn't out of luck with resizing at those huge proportions. lol.
