  1. The best lead on games is MadPea. Mad Pea has run many games-- does it regularly. Has a contact list--people who play the games. http://madpea.blogspot.com/ Some games I have reported on http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2012/10/media-halloween-hunt-madpea-legend-of.html http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2012/04/game-sanity-falls-new-madpea-mystery.html http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/11/media-peatonville-mystery-hunt.html annabelle.fanshaw has build games in SL -- Myst style. She cam probably point you to others Here is my collection of wnat people do in SL: http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2012/01/kif-what-do-we-do-in-second-life-2012.html Most of the people I know are musicians, artists, writers, actors, makers of machinima, builders-- that sort of thing. I could invite you into some groups with such interests, if that would be useful to you. You could find people who would be happy to talk with you. But I don't think any of them play games.
  2. I have been in SL well over 5 years, but I don't play games, so I might not be one you want to interview. But here is an article that may be of use to you as background: Hobo Kit NEW table of contents, Summary, 2012 TKR
  3. Here ia an article about finding people with interests that match yours How do I meet people? 2012 There have been big improvements in resources for that since 2006 TKR
  4. As I understand it, your machine has been banned, meaning that LL has on record information that allows it to recognize your machine. Do you have static IP address. If so, can you change it? (If you have a dynamic IP address, it should have been changed whenever you had a power outage.) SL might just be using the IP address to recognize you, so that change might fix things. If not, can you afford to become a premium member for a time? If so, you can call the billing help number and probably get a person to help you. Otherwise, in addidtion to filing tickets, you could go to the Answers section of this forum and ask how people who were banned for being underaged can reenter once they reach the required age. You can't be the only person this has happened to. Goog luck TKR

Maybe you are coming in via Steam and that causes a request for money. Try this link: http://secondlife.com/whatis/ Here is an article that tells about free stuff and how to find it: Newcomer help 2012 TKR

  16. 1. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Login-failure/ta-p/700109 Read your error message and see if the above link helps you 2. Is your graphics driver up-to-date. Use the vendor's site (not MIcrosoft) to check and update if needed 3. Does your graphics card meet current specs? http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073 4. See if you can create an alt and log in with that account. If so, the problem is not in your computer, but in your avatar. If you don't need to get to that avatar, you could just abandon it and use the new alt. TKR
  17. Here is a place being set up for making videos: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LEA20/130/128/22 It will not be crowded. You can also pick up a notecard about making videos. It has some useful instructions on settings you can use to reduce the load. TKR
  18. Something like tha happened to me a while back. Turned out to be a failing router. SL uses ports not commonly used by other software so the failure did not show up elsewhere. Test: Be sure your computer firewall is working. Bypass the router: connect your computer directly to your internet source (usually a modem). TKR

  21. See these links for info abiut groupe: Groups 101 Why and how? Groups 201, advanced TKR
  22. People have already given you good suggesttions. You need too think about promotion, too. People see your bxes, probably with story illustrations on them. Will that be enough to get people to buy? You could put out a simple slide show with pictures and text panels from the story. Then people could see part of the story for free. If the story is interesting, that might get them to buy. You could also have textures floating up from the box (with particle effects). TKR
  23. It still sounds like a connection problem. SL uses ports that are not commonly used by other programs, so a failing router can mess up SL while other programs work fine, That happened to me a few years ago. Here is a summary of problems like that -- and solutions Login fails? Lots of logouts? Summary TKR
