  2. Today I'm number-crunching. (Mmm, tasty!) Since I'm forever harping on about how hard it is for guys to find anything over and above the 'norm' (eg: jeans, sweaters, t-shirts, etc) I thought it might be an interesting exercise to take some of the popular events in SL, go through the Seraphim galleries for them, and tot up a rough idea of male:female item ratios, plus get an idea of the spread of clothing types available for guys at those events. I'd like to do this 'clothing spread' for the four main male events, too, so that's a future project. (And you'll end up understanding my loathing for sweatshirts, sweatpants, sneakers, and hoodies when I do...) So, if anyone's interested...
  3. I know what you mean. I want every one of them. So what was the one thing that SL's fashion designers took away from the F/W collections this year? Sweatshirts and sweatpants.
  4. Well, since someone brought up religion, and since I happened to visit both The Darkness and Romp today... Credits Constraint, Sintiklia, and Anxiety for Romp!, plus 4bidden and Wild Roots for The Darkness Event, and Cubura for The Men Jail. Suspension: Constraint - Fallen Angel Setting: Anxiety - Confessional Skybox Corset: 4bidden - Brent Corset (Sig, Jake) Hair: Sintiklia - Francis (black & white) Tattoo applier: Wild Roots - Tragic Sleeve Tattoo (Darkness group gift) Shorts: Cubura - Arcangel Shorts (Sig, Jake, Freya, Isis, Maitreya) Boots: Cubura - MenBoots (Slink, Sig, Adam, TMP) Head: Catwa - Victor Body: Signature - Gianni
  5. According to his profile, Osiris is vehemently anti-LGBT, calls transpeople 'fakes', and informs us all that we should only do what Jesus wants us to do. He also automatically blocks people who are not straight, who are not in SL as their "God-given birth gender", who "do the master/slave crap", or who have... uh... "collard in your profile." (Bit harsh to be so hateful toward such a healthy vegetable, if you ask me.) Aww, bless. Here's how my avatar looks today. Please pre-emptively block me, Osiris. You really wouldn't want to catch my gay cooties
  6. Ahh, I see. "Caitlyn Jenner is still Bruce." Gotcha. I suspected as much, but wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for telling me where to get off
  7. Second Life is many things to many people. To you it's "just an instant messaging client in 3D, with dancing". You see no reason to change; others enjoy changing. To each their own. This, though? God didn't make our SL avatars; we did. Our avatars are as we want to be, and for many residents their avatars reflect their inner selves. The way they feel inside is often not the way they are in real life. So are you saying here that you refuse to recognise that someone in their 60s might still feel 20 inside and want to recapture the beauty of their youth? That someone in a wheelchair might wish to dance or run?
  8. If the hair can be edited, choose the strands that are doing this and - under the Texture tab - set their alpha masking to a cutoff of about 10. That should fix it. Caveat: this won't work well with hair that has fine strands, or some very curly hairs. It's best on straight, sleek styles. Example:
  9. Having conniptions over the Balmain F/W 2018 menswear collection that I've just finally got around to checking out from Paris Fashion Week. I just have to spam some of my favourites here:
  10. Hey, baby. You goin' into that club all on your lonesome? You want some company? Full photoset here. Credits CheerNo, L'Etre, and Cubura for The Men Jail. 11. I own all the Catwa Bento heads but out of all those I tend to wear Daniel and Victor the most. I also use LeLutka's Andrea head a great deal, but mainly because I find it's good for more androgynous looks.
  12. Channelling my inner redhead with this new skin from Vendetta for BdyFy event Credits Skin applier: Vendetta - Pierre* (Tone 03 - Catwa & LeLutka) Hair: VoltHair - Tom (red) Jacket: Etham - Josh Blazer (black) Eye appliers: Avi-Glam - Vivid Eyes* (Hazel) Ears: L'Etre - Stretched Mesh Ears *review copy Note: This skin matches the Gen.2 body appliers from Clef de Peau.
  13. As Orwar said, it depends on the look you want. Both are equally well catered-for when it comes to clothing these days. Most menswear designers now rig for both. Signature Gianni has more muscular biceps, triceps, and deltoids. It's a very distinct 'gym-shoulder' look (I can usually tell instantly which guys are wearing Gianni, just from the upper arm shape), and the arms subsequently 'bracket' out from the body slightly to accomodate the bulkier muscles. They can be edited to be slimmer and pull the arms in, but it takes quite a bit of work and some slider knowledge to do so. Belleza Jake is still technically in beta, and there are one or two issues with matching the neck perfectly to some mesh heads. However, it's less muscled in the shoulder area while still being a great body. Demo both, and try several skin demos on them, to see which one you prefer.
  14. Free group gift Catwa skin applier from Stray Dog for L'Homme Magazine readers. The necklace is also a gift for the same group. Credits Skin applier: Stray Dog - Erwin (buttermilk) Necklace: The Forge - Rockstar Necklace Jacket: Gabriel - Ashimentory Knit Jacket (black) Hair: Dura - B82 (dark) Ears: L'Etre - Olympe Mesh Ears Eye appliers: Avi-Glam - Vivid Eyes* (pearl) Rings: RealEvil - Striker Rings & Claws Pants appliers: Sn@tch - Carnal Leather Pants (Omega) Head: Catwa - Victor (Bento) Body: Slink - Physique *review copy
  15. I don't care what the fashion catwalks say this year; sweatshirts and trackpants are NOT FASHION, damn it! Every sodding menswear event in SL is swamped with the damn things lately!
  16. Heh, thankee! Surprised the hell out of me when I saw it
  17. Landing a Flickr group cover? Feels great. Landing a Flickr group icon? Feels even better. Landing both? Oh myyyyy...
  18. I've been watching this thread with interest, and the above is exactly how I have viewed it, but not in the direction that you mean it here, Lil. Why? Because the following - - is how teachers will often react when trying to bring a class full of naughty children to heel: by congratulating them on behaving like a grown-up. Apparently, the OP isn't the grade schooler here; they believe that we are.
  19. Avant garde today. Couldn't resist this headdress: Credits Kosmii for The Coven, plus a gift from Zibska for readers of L'Homme Magazine. Headdress: Kosmii - Eve Headdress (black) Makeup: Zibska - Aelfhare Makeup (gift) Armour: Gabriel - Armour Gorget Collar (black: gacha item) Tattoo: Zibska - SineV Eye appliers: Izzie's - Demon Eyes Ears: L'Etre - Horn Mesh Ears Skin applier: Tableau Vivant - Mort Vivant (Lelutka) Head: Lelutka - Andrea (Bento) Body: Slink - Physique Male
  20. Almost human. More Windlight, plus projected lighting. I'm aiming for something very specific here, but not quite hitting it yet. Still, it's getting closer...
  21. Playing around with Windlight and trying to find something stark and harshly over-lit that nonetheless looks interesting. Another shot here on Flickr.
  22. Cross-posting from one of our Look At Me threads: No pic, just a headsup to anyone who has alts they want to kit out with new skins (or to those that have recently bought a mesh head and/or body) that 7 Deadly Skins have reduced their group join fee to just L$50 for the next YEAR, and for the next five months they will have a new group gift (one each for men and women) every single week. The gifts are going to be a mixture of new and old stuff, so expect some system skins and shapes in among the mesh appliers. Ideal for alts that you don't want to chuck too much money at

  24. Let's try finding another definition. Perhaps one based on your own words. Hmm, I'm sure we can find something... Oh, here we are! - If it's not real then it's fake. You're a fake. You know, back when you made your first introductory post, in your male incarnation, I welcomed you with encouraging words. I still stand by the words I uttered then, to what I thought was a genuine new person wanting to find friends. This side of you, however? Is deeply unpleasant and disappointing.
