  1. Yeah have looked into all of those as well as others. Still doesn't prove that free will can exist if God is Omniscient. Prophecy etc claimed by various religions imply that God knows the future and what path you will take. The mere notion of prophecy goes against free will.
  2. I have already provided an example of a gacha that is being resold without a limited quantity listing. So until someone can clarify if that is a work around or a somehow missed pre change bug. Consider me still not convinced.
  3. I couldn't resist... Even more controversial free will doesn't exist if God is Omniscient.
  4. No worries at all Qie. As to your comments with the fees, I quite agree, however LL have no one else to blame but themselves (not that it seems to bother them anyway) considering they advertised the fee increase as a spam reduction method.
  5. Thanks for the help Dakota, however I'll have to decline such an invite to in-world meetings. As much as I would love to attend, time zone restrictions make it impossible. I really shouldn't be on these forums now and should have been snugly tucked into bed 5 hours ago.
  6. I am a bit confused. If a gacha by definition is selling a chance to get a random or themed item, then by definition all those other listings for a random item would despite them not being labeled (even though some are as per my post above) in the description a gacha, be a gacha. So now I must ask, what was the motivation of Linden Lab bringing in the Limited Quantities filter if it wasn't to filter out all gacha's as your entire userbase has been requesting since they were created in SL? Furthermore some of those examples I posted are not even in the gacha category (random chance for an item category). If this isn't against Marketplace Listing Guidelines, then I really don't know what to think at this moment with regards to these guidelines or LL's stance as far as anything guideline goes. It is also interesting that the Limited Quantities filter, filters out genuine non gacha items that are for sale as a Limited Quantity, yet the statement by you Dakota on the other hand shows that you are not prepared to take the same stance on all gacha's at the cost of what you seemingly portray as genuine random item listings (despite those also being by definition gacha's).
  7. I think perhaps you may have misinterpreted my post if this was directed at me. I'm not saying that Linden Lab did it as a profit making move. Whether they did is here or there and no one would be able to tell that, though marketplace fees are in $L and contribute a massive amount to their profits and are specifically a profit making endeavour. My intention was to highlight they have made the move to attract people to premium instead of looking at it as an even playing field to reduce the amount of spam with regards to events. As I mentioned I think tiered premium models are a good way for LL to move forward with things, I don't believe however these kind of moves benefit anybody especially when they are added to a generic subscription plan and cause more annoyance to basic users as opposed to benefiting the system as a whole. If, LL came out with figures saying that basic users are the number one spammers from specifically 3rd party rented mainland or regions then I will say ok fair enough for charging more for the events, however if (and I believe this may be the case) the majority of Adult clubs or those that advertise with clubs and spam are perhaps on the mainland or adult mainland where a subscription is needed to own land, then I would suspect that having a negligible L$10 fee for listing events a bit irrational. Not to mention against what they have initially stated as being their intent with these specific fees and a pure move to force club owners to premium (more LL profit) where those owners can use the stipend to pay for as much spam as they want without it generally effecting them profit wise at all. As for my section on money spent between premium and basic my intent there was to highlight that a premium member cannot equate to basic members that own sims, rent sims or the like and that in the grand scheme of things, despite moves for LL to monetize SL through premium, given the expense basic users go through already even the average basic user would in theory probably end up spending just as much or even more than a premium member would over the year. In other words far more than $12 or $9/month especially when you take into consideration those that simply have premium for the great new Linden Homes and only spend their weekly stipend within SL instead of buying more lindens.
  8. Not that simple. To have items categorised you would still have to rely on user input to make the right choice. If they are forced to select a category they can easily put it in the wrong category, which then forces the use as it is now of flagging, which has proven to not work and clogs up the system. If you make it so the filter catches keywords from the title and description this should work a lot better however then you will just get people uploading images with a green background and bolded text with GACHA. Not to mention it then also penalises the people tryin to sell gacha's as their listing wont show even if you search specifically for gacha. Basically it is a lose-lose situation. Even as it is now the Limited filter is already impacting on other peoples products that aren't gacha's but are limited options due to other reasons.
  9. Fun isn't it. I glimpse of what is to come perhaps...
  10. Probably going to regret posting this... but let me preface this firstly with I am in no way trying to be patronising or mean or those sort of things of which I am more than likely going to be blamed for from this reply, however this whole premium 'fanboyism' of late is getting a little on my nerves. This, with the whole premium deserve better rewards or LL should support premium members more, or its good basic users need to pay more lindens in fees etc., because they don't pay a yearly subscription and we do. This same rhetoric is evident in LL announcements of late diminishing basic users as well as their insistence in putting basic members behind premium members as far as accessibility in SL goes. I also have no clue how much you have spent on SL and whilst I quoted you this below response isn't directed at you. Hopefully this post will also help LL and perhaps others to see WHY they cannot remove their reliance on land ownership and basic users and replace it with generic premium memberships of little offerings in comparison to what a basic user needs or can obtain without premium. I am also sure I am not the average basic user and know many just go by playing dress up and socialising and spending a little here and there, however also keep in mind many basic users are known to be big store owners, big creators and big land owners all without paying for premium. I am also not trying to brag or flash about, but just simply do a comparison the best I can based on me. I have been in second life since before the 2006 hype, with this account now my main. So with that said, if I was paying for premium yearly for 14 years I would have spent approx. $1188 USD for that premium (note I am using the increased premium rates for the whole 14 years that you pay for premium now) and lets chuck in $5000 USD for spending money over those 14 years. That means over 14 years the 'average' (loosely implied) premium user has 'supported' LL and their SL venture with a total of $6188 USD. Cool, thanks, glad you can enjoy second life and am also glad you have supported it with premium so that you, I and others can benefit from a great system/platform. Now lets however look at how much I have provided to LL, as a basic user, to fund premium users experience. Over those years here and there on different accounts I have owned 2 full regions and 3 homesteads of which the last I stopped paying for about 4 years ago. For the 2 full regions (at different times) I had those over 4 years which means I have paid approx. a total of $14,160 (old monthly price amount) and the 3 homesteads (at different times) over the course of 3 years totalling approx. $7020. On top of that around $3800 in region set up fees and then probably around $20k USD in linden purchases for furnishing those sims, upload fees, general SL fees and general spending etc. That means I have paid over $44,900 USD over approximately 14 years. I do it for fun because I can, budgeted for it and never wanted anything in return other than to have fun and be allowed to have fun without to much restriction. Now using the above figures, the above hypothetical premium members spending money pays for approximately 4 premium user accounts yet the amount I as a basic member have spent over the years (without including the few years I was premium and owned a few 1/4 sims) pays for the equivalent of 37 premium member accounts. I get that premium needs to offer incentives to make people buy it, you can just read my post history on my feelings towards premium and how I agree it should be tiered etc to make SL better, however placing restrictions or annoyances in areas which directly impact basic users and their ability to conduct business, earn money or have fun such as this random unannounced recurring event system is not the way to do it. That said, it is also the greed LL have been showing as of late that shows through more than ever. Since when is a "method to reduce event calendar spam" the equivalent worth of L$50 for basic or L$10 for premium. If this was to stop event spam as they announced it to be they would have placed the same fee for everyone not make it a marketing strategy to get people on premium. When most clubs that do spam the event calendar are located on mainland or zadrina where you are required to have a premium subscription to be there it certainly shows LL's true intentions behind this move.
  11. Glad you like your premium and have nothing against those that do, but your calculations are only that value if you pay yearly. For people that pay monthly, for whatever reason they decide to, it is still cheaper for people to go rent land on a private sim whereby they can (depending on the land owner) get more prims per parcel or the same prims for a negligible extra cost. Those items you list as having no cost associated with them, that it true, however all of those are either available via residents or not needed for the majority of residents.
  12. I cant say whether this is a new feature added with the filter or not but, currently there are items that are on the marketplace that are gacha items being sold by resellers that are ignoring the filters. If what you said is a new feature introduced as part of the update, then perhaps these are just existing ones pre changes, however they are present on MP. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/8GBCummerbund-Gray-Signature/13946783 As to gacha's in general. It still doesn't stop gacha's that a copy and it also doesn't stop gacha's that are sold by the creator. When I want to search for something and LL state that they are doing something to fix it so gacha's don't come up in search I, as I would expect most people, want no gacha items to come up in search. This isn't the case with this filter. A couple of examples of these systems not being filtered: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/inZoxi-Kitsune-Animesh-Shoulder-Pets-SERIES-3-XMAS-Edition/18609945 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Tardfish-Robo-Lurker-Gacha-1-play/18628480 https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Tardfish-Chompy-Tail-Gacha-V2-1-Play/18628355
  13. If they did, I wouldn't be surprised at all. But that said and not related to you at all but some others, so long as it clears up the events calendar…. 🙄 As the saying goes, give them an inch and they will take a mile.
  14. Perhaps its a premium only thing? and considering the cost of L$50 for premium one can only imagine what it would be for basic users...
  15. So, considering the resident 'last name' doesn't appear unless you use specific toggles in 3rd party viewers wouldn't it have been far easier for LL to just allow for a space to be used in the (first)name of all those that have resident last names? Would have taken less time as well as probably scripting etc. The difference is that wouldn't have been chargeable. As to the married comment, believe it or not the display name was one of the fixes for this as even back when last names existed, as you know, most people had to create two new toons if they wanted the same last name. I would highly doubt that people marrying or being partnered in SL are going to pay $50 to change names when display names are the most common form of name now and far cheaper. Agree with this and do the same regularly for myself as do many of my friends with last names. It would be different if you were able to create your own last name, however many people when last names were selectable from a list chose whatever mainly because they didn't like any of the options and were forced to make a choice of something they didn't like (just to play SL) otherwise, would have to wait for a month or so for the new set to come out. It was extremely restrictive then and is probably why they aren't introducing it for new users now.
  16. As far as searching goes if I set it to general and search for something within one session, I can search multiple times without having to re-dropdown the maturity ratings box, same with sort by and item number dropboxes. This is what I was implying the new filters should be. The only time the dropdown boxes reset for me is when I have to log in again or reopen the browser and go to the site due to another issue LL have with their MP website where it doesn't save settings over multiple sessions. Such as the sort by and item number dropdown boxes. That said, the maturity ratings for me default to general, moderate, adult so no idea why yours would be defaulting to just General.
  17. Apologies, I was supposed to quote Tarina above you and not you. It is also why my response talks about her comments about firestorm, whereas you never did.
  18. Why do I get the feeling this is just a short term fix until we see sellers and resellers just abusing the system (like they are already) by just selecting unlimited quantities when listing them. Also, as nice as it is (for now) 2 questions for LL: Why cant I filter out results of these new much needed filters from the home page? Why do I have to continuously select the tickbox and refine search every single time I search for a new item - requiring a scroll down the page just to reselect it? Wouldn't it be far better and easier to have a drop down box like the maturity settings so you don't have to constantly reselect the tick box and then refine search after every new search.
  19. Your point? Why isn't this a priority fix. Considering it directly impacts on people's perception of SL performance, it should be first on their list to fix especially considering the time it has been affecting people. I've had it since 2008 but more frequent of late and one can peruse the SL archived forums to see these issues going back to 2009 and even before then to many users. If they have no clue how it is happening then it speaks volumes as to how inept their team may be in fixing such issues. Some back in the day, suggested that the cause was due to a change (force objects to be less 'vertice intense' to improve fps) LL did and suggested debug menu fixes, but even that eventually didn't work. Additionally, it is not just solely mesh that it impacts as I and many others over the years have had it happen with sculpties and prims as well (I've even had part of the sculpts of hair disappear whilst some strands remained). Also to those comments about it being restricted to firestorm, no this is an issue across all viewers not just firestorm, and contacting support as premium doesn't help fix the issue as it is a well known issue that has been reported many times with no resolution. That aside, the whole teleport issues of late is ridiculous, long hanging, tp crashes, tp refusal, missing objects attached and in world etc. The list goes on. @PatricaC as I mentioned in the other thread about disappearing objects in world, the same workaround (until it is fixed though hasn't been for over 10 years) can be used to 'unhide' any objects rezed inworld or attached that have disappeared due to teleporting. Enter into wireframe (ctrl+shift+r) and then exit out of wireframe again (same key configuration). This will refresh all objects in your viewer (including attached items) without the need of editing the objects, detaching, logging out or tp again. Some, suggested years ago just refreshing the textures (ctrl+alt+r) works but I find this to sometimes not work and therefore do the wireframe one instead.
  20. I agree but such things that the OP requested (such as a supporter tag) do exist in the forums of communities much larger than second life with no I'll effect or perception of elitism that some suggest it would have. That said I will say comparing the request or its implementation to that of how Hitler treated the Jews as someone in this thread did is going a little to far.
  21. That is exactly the same issue I have been getting for about the same time period and due to the same issues. Hopefully someone smarter than me can provide a more permanent solution and that my wireframe fix works for you like it does me in the meantime rather than needing to tp out.
  22. Fully agree with everything you said. That said, just because it isn't a reliable method doesn't mean that people don't use it as an excuse to claim or believe that it is an alt due to no payment info not showing in the profile. It is also a completely unnecessary thing to be listed in the profile as it serves very limited purposes for things that are processed in the background anyway such as sim entry etc.
  23. Sometimes I don't know why I even bother. I never said it was a way for others to check who has done this or that. That is how you read my post and incorrectly at that by reading between the lines when there was no hidden message or intent. The OP specifically wanted a way to show that THE AVATAR (you know, singular) has paid for premium. I answered correctly stating that THE AVATAR (singular) has this shown in their profile. I.E. he already has a star on his profile saying he supports SL. In hindsight, it seems I should have said 'avatars' instead of 'everyone' as that seems to have confused you in someway of me suggesting I meant every single alt that doesn't have premium despite the OP specifically talking about one avatar/account and premium. But whatever. Additionally, I like Elena Core am in favor of Payment info on file being removed from the profile as showing this opens up for griefing as well as being used as a method of identifying alts and selection to sim entry etc.
  24. Not sure I understand what you are implying. If you have bought a premium subscription as the OP suggests your avatar will have payment info on file/used in the profile. That was his main concern albeit in the forums instead. Recognition that you have supported LL with some form of financial means. If anyone with a basic account has bought something with RL money or bought Lindens, you will have payment info on file/used. If you transfer that money to another alt, the main account will have payment info on file suggesting that they have supported LL with RL money. Having an alt with nothing shown on the profile is a moot point as you have already been given the accreditation of supporting LL on the main account. Why should you get multiple accreditation for something on all your accounts when you are still one person and only use one account to support LL. 🙄
  25. There is a method in place to show this in the profiles of SL inworld for everyone that supports (has supported) SL. Payment info on file/used.
