  1. Everyone must keep in mind that LL have for YEARS, and are even still, loosing enormous amounts of money (tier wise) through their lack of converting abandoned land to revenue. I haven't been on a mainland parcel search for a while, however did late last year and unless things have drastically changed (bet they haven't) Governor Linden is sitting on the biggest waste of resources and potential revenue ever. For years there has been swathes of land abandoned of which their auction solution, even the new one (which was just a lie and all they did was update the webpage) just isn't enough to turn it around (most don't even know it exists). They could of course (and should) just make it so that as soon as land is abandoned it becomes for sale instantly and sold by Governor Linden (LL taking the profit of the sale) in world and highlighted on the map like other land for sale. They could even have a bid system on the land in the right click buy menu itself that notifies users that have bid if they have been outbid via IM). Alas, if they haven't incorporated that method (and still gone with the bad out of world auction system) after this amount of time I doubt they even know how to or perhaps a matter of lack of foresight and ingenuity. Hell, they could (and should) even have it that as soon as you decide to not have a mainland parcel any more users cant sell it to others but have to abandon it to Governor Linden. Just like a real life house/land rental system. This would mean that, not only will prices be more reasonable, (rather than $200-$1000USD just to BUY a parcel from a user in a popular area like Blake Sea not including your monthly tier) but also give LL a much needed additional revenue source that will allow them to LOWER tier across the board! That all said and therefore, whilst they refuse to lower tier prices claiming woe is me, we cant lower because we need to have tier high due to cover hardware costs etc, they are sitting on empty un-owned land whereby it isn't making any money to cover the running cost or provide a profit and also not looking at the potential other revenue stream sticking out at them for all to see except LL. For example lets say that they have had on average 200 sims (mainland is around 6-7000 sims - including the numerous sandboxes that are usually empty) worth of land abandoned and not rented per year. That is a total loss of $429,600 USD per year in tier. In another example, lets say on average out of the (approximately but probably more) 3000 rentable sims on mainland of which, say are divided into quarter sims (generous considering the amount of parcels under that on mainland), they see half of those available parcels transfer hands twice every year, they could sell them after abandonment/premium cancelation etc. (rather than user to user) direct to users for $20US or 5000L$ (in addition to tier) they would make an additional approx.: $240,000 US/year. (possibly more if they have inworld auctions). So in total, by providing a better inworld land auction/buy system that will show to more users than their flawed hardly known web auction and potentially selling all abandoned land within a matter of days along with converting the system so users can no longer sell RENTED FROM LL land to users (instead abandoning back to LL for them to sell), per year they could, using the above figures (that are completely approximate), make an additional $669,600 US (tier per month of all abandoned land + revenue by land sale). So whilst many say its an impossibility to reduce tier cause LL will loose to much money, I say it is a pure example of robbing Peter to pay Paul all the while having their head in the sand thinking everything is fine by lacking ingenuity of how to make money elsewhere from areas that aren't making enough money (apart from increasing user fees) to reduce tier.
  2. You forgot the horse from 1911! As to the shells, no idea why a person calling shotgun will need them but whatever...
  3. Hmm, think us Australians will have difficulty with this one.. our thongs don't stretch like that...
  4. Completely irrelevant but let me see, I don't know... perhaps it had something to do with them not cremating individually to keep the ashes to put them in an urn to return to the family. That is to say (for the uneducated non self thinkers out there) they mass cremated. 🙄 Same data is coming out of Australia that the mid range groups under 60 and mainly 30-40s are catching it more than the elderly but the elderly are the highest deaths. Though this can easily be contributed to mid age covid-19 parties (words fail me with these people) etc, and negligence of them passing it on to others.
  5. Don't know what is more disturbing. The fact that I found this amusing or that Mr Harris there is still smiling with no hands. How is he going to get them out of the washing machine now?!
  6. The issue here is that it is supposedly Chinese investigative journalists that have published the data along with photo evidence of it. https://wearechange.org/more-evidence-china-is-lying-number-of-urns-more-than-double-reported-coronavirus-deaths/ What is more prudent is that they had to secretly investigate it by photos and talking to the truck driver to confirm the numbers. Western media have even phoned the same funeral homes and have been told mysteriously "that they either did not have that data or were not authorized to disclose it". Given the places would certainly know how many urns they ordered as it is an inventory issue, one can only presume the later which is a red flag. Regarding your cremation conspiracy theory, yes I agree no sulfur increase happened and Snopes are right, but you must also take into account that the very same articles they have mentioned also stated credible source informants from the crematoriums stating that they are burning 24 hours 7 days and cant keep up with the amount of bodies being delivered. Interestingly, Snopes never mentioned that in the debunk, which one would assume they either cant debunk it or it is truth. Good to see that they have come back into operation, however I certainly hope that there is some form of investigation and sanctions applied to China if it is proven that they lied about the virus, both by numbers and its infectiousness. Also hope there are sanctions imposed on them for their now documented https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8167869/Inside-Australian-factory-packed-coronavirus-supplies-sent-CHINA.html (and as reported by the British government) abhorrence in using Chinese government owned companies they have world wide to purchase medical supplies from other countries and send them back to china during their outbreak leading to a shortage in the western world. Not to mention that the illegally requisitioned British owned factories in China manufacturing PPE for the UK meaning the supply chain to UK was removed. I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories either. I certainly wouldn't also agree with your neighbour, unless you submit to conspiracy theories about China's Mobile phone carriers recently loosing 21million subscriptions over the past months and try to attribute that to deaths like some are...
  7. Until exact numbers are known it is still a little hard to talk about death rates etc. I read this article today which seriously puts a very large question mark (despite many people probably not being surprised) to the official death count. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8165717/Locals-Wuhan-believe-42-000-people-died-coronavirus.html tl;dr: basically locals in china have been getting the cremation urns delivered to them (before a specific Chinese holiday) of those that have been cremated due to having the virus and apparently in Wuhan alone according to local sources, now that the area has re-opened and word is getting out, it is estimated that 40k have died in that area alone. Hankou town received 5000 urns in one day according to the local Chinese media there, meaning that town just by itself has almost doubled the officially declared China Statistics. Unfortunately what we have seen in Italy, this figure may well be the true impact the virus is having. I think its good that the western world is locking down and putting restrictions on well before China did and hopefully this will help which it seems to be, however I am still more concerned about countries like India whereby the slums and sheer population of India would be a breeding ground and could see many, many dead, many more go un-noticed with the potential of re-spreading to the western world if it isn't contained there. Potentially prolonging all of the restrictions we have in place now.
  8. What I meant by claim is in that I haven't seen the video you just posted (as I just cant sit and watch something like that without skipping due to a short attention span and just the way the interviews seem to be haphazard, hence why a transcript should be offered) and therefore can only go by what you have said he 'claimed' to have said. Not calling you a liar or anything.
  9. Very much this. Out of all that they listed so much is either not even released or half finished and only gets more promises of SOON from them. Still waiting on name changes oddly enough even after announcing not long ago the finalisation of the competition which was supposed to herald the features implementation. For a company of their size as well as their age, they are the slowest to implement anything at all, with as you say other platforms releasing content every month not every 2 years. Whilst I understand that moving to the cloud is a big thing to do any company by now would have finished all of that given its been over 2 years since they announced that they were doing it. It should have been their #1 priority over all other features listed in that blog post as it would have improved the entire experience for everything 10 fold. Are we in the twilight zone? Rewind back to 2009 and this is the very thing Mark Kingdon was proposing and working towards of which he was ridiculed for by the user base which through his wanting it and sacrificing things for it led to his departure (Here's a hint, display names were introduced to help this transition but that didn't go down to well). A secure area for businesses to host their own area for meetings etc. The one point that was the stickler for businesses that he was working for was a secure area free from LL eyes. Granted he was trying to have it so that those businesses host the world themselves for security, but it isn't short of what you claim (by replying to rasterscan) Ebbe is stating they are now working on. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/second-life-gets-ready-for-enterprise/ . As I mentioned in a post in another thread a while ago (the marketing one), unfortunately since Mark Kingdon there has been no vision to second life from the heads of LL. Unfortunate if they are working on this now given that the very thing was proposed and being worked on over 10 years ago and scraped. It will also be a matter for them of too little to late given that that very thing is needed now, and given their track record I would say we wont see it for another 2 years 10 years.
  10. Why? Because I dared (and some others) to suggest that LL could reduce their prices to accommodate other businesses need for virtual space during this time like the OP has suggested? Or do you think its because I dared to suggest that by offering to help those businesses it would also help LL during this time when they also might be affected by the situation financially? Or is it because I suggested that LL can market the very thing SL can offer better in some ways than what many other virtual businesses at a time like this and potentially gain some relevance again by this whilst supporting other businesses and isolators? I mean, it isn't like other businesses haven't offered free things to help users or keep people isolating at home with things to do. I like to do a little genealogy here and there and Ancestry.com have offered many USA government records to be available for free without a subscription so as people stuck at home isolating can access those records without financial burden whilst they possibly aren't getting paid. MyHeritage have released a new service whereby you can colorize old black and white photos, and guess what they are offering that service for free as well specifically during this time for the same reasons as Ancestry.com. They are even doing a competition via social media to get the word out and promote their new service. No one has thought bad of them for doing it. There is no I'm going to boycott that service because "how dare they support other businesses or people whilst also promoting their own services to help them in this time as well". Just because something is offered for free and marketed doesn't imply that it is distasteful during a time like this. It is simply a way for companies to help those that are doing it tough by providing free or discounted services during this time as the OP has suggested and in return those users that come also help to support the business during this time. Second Life has the luxury that it is already free and benefits the average user by offering socialisation, however land isn't and that is what would benefit businesses.
  11. Its called contingency of which most tech companies have built within their business strategies. If what you say is true and that LL don't have the extra hardware to pick up any potential increase in regions over a short period of time, then that would be one massive business failure on LL behalf. Any business always (or at least should) allow for contingency within their business plan. If they haven't done this then it has to make you wonder just what LL spend their money on. You say most tech companies don't sit on hardware for periods of time, implying that they upgrade it once they get real close to their maximum? Then how come we have seen over the course of a few weeks these same tech companies offering streaming services for free. Even Discord who is a relative small tech player in the grand scheme of things have enough capacity to offer out to all schools a 50 user count stream per channel for free over this time. So no, you are incorrect. LL's bad planning in not having contingency is not like most tech companies. No, that is not distasteful. It is business and marketing and affordance in business run hand in hand. How can a business offer help to others if those people don't know that a business exists of offers relevant services? To get the word out there they have to MARKET there services, what they can offer, etc. and the only way to do this is though advertisement or news articles, or press releases etc. A business is all about looking for potential increases in revenue or users or showcasing what they can offer people/businesses and whilst yes, they should offer help in ways they can during this time, it is in a business best interest that by offering that help they also can help their own business in the process. Whilst you might consider it distasteful, most businesses wouldn't and I think you would be surprised at what businesses are marketing tastefully at this time, especially tech companies that offer some form of virtual potential. Sure they are offering their services to help but, you clearly don't understand business practices from a good CEO or CMO perspective if you don't see the underlying rubbing of hands together with glee at the prospect of more money or users by them showcasing what they can offer all the while having an outward look of charity. There is even a specific phrase for it, it is called 'Public Relations' and the internet is also awash with articles on how you can market during this time by offering services. https://www.business2community.com/public-relations/pr-and-marketing-during-covid-19-what-you-need-to-know-02294307 Point 2, 5, 6 and 8 apply to LL and Second Life Service's and their Marketing potential and how to stay relevant. Also for example: Instagram has launched a co-watching feature, enabling people to view the making of their friends’ new posts via video chat. Government health organisations and UN health agencies are now able to use Facebook’s Workplace for free for the next year and is working on helping them use Messenger to create scaled and educational responses to the virus Discord has actively advertised to the education department to use their software for virtual classes and have increased for free at this time their streaming allowances to non subscribers Microsoft team has actively advertised to businesses and educators their software for them to conduct virtual business meetings and classrooms Microsoft has advertised skype for video conferencing for classrooms and businesses Facebook are advertising free grants to small businesses of which they select after you apply https://www.facebook.com/business/grants Do you think these companies are spending millions in lost revenue by offering these services free as they are - out of the pureness of their heart? No, they are advertising key elements of their platforms tastefully to prospective future users or account holders (especially to other businesses) in the hope that they continue to use the platform after this is over. All the while showcasing that they can be charitable and earn brownie points for doing so. There is a vast difference is distasteful and tasteful marketing. For example tasteful marketing for Second Life during this period would be similar to those above. They could advertise: One free month region rental for businesses and a discounted rate for the next 3 months to conduct in world meetings to help those business from not loosing income or going bankrupt due to lack of not being allowed to do meetings with clients or staff etc. They could advertise to Architects discounted regions for uploading their 3d models along with direct teleport links from account creation and advertise them as virtual "site visits' allowing the client and architect to explore the design together of which is usually done in meetings They could advertise to the education sector virtual classrooms, experiences, experimentations etc and bring back the education discount for a short period or permanently for good will The could create a few linked regions that provide virtually up to date information about covid-19 and allow for free virtual seminars by leading professionals that the average person can attend explaining verbally and through models the virus, its affects on the body, social distances and the need for it etc. approved by the WHO. Just like Facebook, Reddit, Google. TikToc, Microsoft etc have all approached the WHO to offer what they can to stop misinformation through the virtual services they provide. There are so many potential tasteful marketing avenues LL could take during this time to help not only their business but also others and other average joe's, just as pretty well much every business that isn't a shop is doing right now. As to those saying that reductions in price for regions for a certain period of time etc., saying it wouldn't work etc. Why wouldn't it? You claim because it will reduce their income or make them go bankrupt but, this isn't the case as you are putting your platform out their to help those in times of need. Marketing always has a budget and the prospect of future revenue and user retention is far more important at this time to businesses than adding extra $ to marketing to accommodate for a few freebies over the next 6 months. Well at least it should be and clearly the above mentioned (and many more) tech/virtual driven companies listed above seem to think the same.
  12. I would say you might be correct about the insurance, however it was in the news today that our insurance companies over here are redoing their T&C's to specifically state that Covid-19 isn't insured. How nice of them.🙄 That said, just found this which shows what China did apparently in February/early march to solve the situation - so @Lindal Kidd got it right. 😄
  13. You think that's bad? Our stupid Prime Minister down under believes Hair Dressers, Barbers and Hair Salons etc are 'essential' and therefore remain open. With the caveat that strict social distancing of 4m² be in place for each person. How does he even think it is possible for the hairdressers to distance themselves by 2 m from the person getting their hair cut. 🙄
  14. Cant see any form of reduction in price happening as LL just are to slow and just don't know how to market Second Life anymore. Only possible way this could be done is for maybe businesses that register can purchase at a discounted rate for the next 6months so as they can see the benefit for meetings etc. But even that will not happen. Even better would be for those businesses to be able to register for a region that is already built with offices and meeting rooms for those businesses to use in this time. Why would it be more expensive? People have been asking for years for this and as far as I am aware homesteads are far cheaper to run that full regions. Considering there continues to be a decline in regions for many years, the hardware is still there to handle that and I would assume that could pick up any slack. Also hosting regions on the cloud (if they get a move on with doing so - should have been done a while ago IMHO) would be a benefit but the slowness of LL have once again stung them in the butt. Where this time is a prime time for Linden Lab to get a huge marketing boost and possibly bring back the 2006 hype for second life with its vast improvements over the years as a showcase to businesses and users. I'm going to put my hat on the table and say that I'll eat it if LL actually manage to market this time properly or reduce tier, offer regions etc.
  15. Hmm, if I did say that wasn't what I meant. What I was implying is that you isolate everyone for whatever the minimum/maximum time it takes to show symptoms +1 day. Once you have determined who has the virus or is asymptomatic those people are locked down entirely and have food delivered. People that after the minimum/maximum symptom time don't show any symptoms and are not asymptomatic (ie look at the database to see if they had contact with anyone showing symptoms of which computer algorithms and AI can help by using Facebook etc to find out where people have been etc) are free to go to the shops etc to get food, however they must return to the house straight after until all people have shown no signs of the virus spreading. Best case scenario. Problem is, will it die out or will it become part of the yearly flu cycle like swine flu has in some instances etc? These things are still unknown as Japan and a few others imply even still it is possible to be re-infected (for reference: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2020/03/15/can-you-get-infected-by-coronavirus-twice-how-does-covid-19-immunity-work/#8744bf95c0f8). Until it is certain no mutation has occurred and that it is shown 100% that re-infection can not occur herd immunity can not be relied upon.
  16. The other issue is that these politicians are just using the Covid-19 virus as a scapegoat for the terrible economic management in the USA and the world. The economy was already on the brink of crashing last year. For months the stock market guru's have been wondering when the 'black swan' will swoop and crash the markets. Any look at the enormous unsustainable growth (bull run) seen from 2008- late 2019 is evidence of this, whereby the band-aid of the GFC in 2008 of lowering interest rates and keeping them low produced an enormous economic bubble and consequently gave absolutely no room to lower them further to impede another major crash. Covid-19 virus was the straw that broke the camels back, and whilst yes the virus is to blame for the economy going down, it was only a matter of time that something else would pop the bubble if not this one. Even though capitalism has many benefits, avoiding market crashes and creating an ever growing divide between rich and poor are not counted as one. What would be interesting to think on is, if it wasn't a pandemic virus that crashed the markets, would the world governments give the same financial support for the average Joe to the extent they have for this pandemic related crash? I would dare say it would be a 100% No. The only way to stop this thing as evidenced by china, S. Korea and now by the looks (hopefully) Italy with their decreasing numbers over the last 2 days is to literally lockdown by force and ride it out. Trump or any other government thinking that going about normal business in a few days whilst it is still rampant is just irresponsible. Is there a chance of the whole virus is being blown out of proportion? Yes, however the risk of thinking this vs the possibility of it being a nightmare scenario is one no government should be playing Russian roulette with or it would end up like I said being compared to Nazi Germany. What Trump and these other senators in the USA also need to realise is that whatever happens to the USA effects EVERY other countries economies due to them all being tied to the US Dollar. If the USA doesn't get the virus under control before they open for business again it will just be an up and down scenario. Look at China. They thought the same thing to protect their economy but as soon as they fired up industry more people got infected again and they had to close it down again. It took them 3-4 times to get manufacturing back to normal after many stops due to not containing the virus properly the first time. Yes you do have such a service. It's called Meals on Wheels. It just takes the CEO over there to expand the services accordingly and partner with delivery persons/companies to expand for this short period. The question comes will the capitalist nature of American CEO's bend to meet the need? Unless Meals on Wheels is entirely different to what it is over here in Australia. Over in Australia we have meals on wheels that provide this very service as well to the sick and elderly and they have advised they would be willing (and in some cases already have) to expand this to any COVID-19 infected people. On top of that Woolworths, which is a grocery chain, over here has partnered with them in both providing additional supplies and delivery methods as needed. Only in America will this happen as you guys seem to be hellbent on protecting your constitutional and bill of rights despite the sometimes necessary need to compromise for a short period of time for the benefit of everyone. Did you see riots, looting, chaos and human meltdown in Italy, who have been locked down in their homes by force of enormous fines or jail time for over 2 weeks? Where their civil liberties have been removed whereby they need to fill in a form as to why they are leaving their house prior to doing so to get approval to do so? Do you see the same riots etc. in other EU countries that have implemented the same lockdown procedures as Italy, or even New Zealand? No you don't. American politics seem to be the ones that are downright not taking this seriously enough which is sad given how much their politics and economy influence the rest of the world. Yet, for some odd reason no other country seems to have an issue with kit shortages up till just recently due to what seems to be export restrictions now placed on them. Very odd considering many are made in the USA. America have one of, if not the lowest test per capita. Them not having infected was recently shown in a scientific paper as basically impossible. Indonesia, for the entire month of February stated they had no cases despite every country around them having it, which was also stated as a mathematical and scientific impossibility. Even most governments are now saying that in all likelihood millions are infected but considering asymptomatic and mild cases go un-noticed/diagnosed they are not added to the official tally. To put it into perspective, they are all now funding research to try and find out how it is spreading as they are completely baffled by it based on the official numbers not lining up with zones it is revealing to have spread to. As to china's death count, I don't believe that for a second either, considering all the leaks from workers that happened stating crematoriums running 24/7 etc.
  17. So glad I don't live in the USA if this is what their leaders believe that to ensure economic security you must sacrifice human lives. Lets see: Economy downfall and therefore must improve to ensure the economy and capitalism survives... Check Place to take elderly and those that are disabled or high risk to die... Check Leaders evil enough to do this... Check Now all you need to do is get a red flag, paint a white dot in the middle and a broken cross and you can go back to 1940 Germany and live the good life again where invalids, the sick and mentally ill were all treated the same way by that evil leader and sacrificed to take the strain off the economy they created. 🙄
  18. True, however no society can not stop people from going to the supermarket as food, medicine etc are a necessity. Even China's lockdown allowed movement to the store and back. It comes down to a few things. Once a lockdown is in place, if you come down with symptoms within 5 days after the lockdown (the min. known time symptoms begin to show) or have come in contact with a person who has come down with symptoms within those 5 days, then you need to report that to authorities or a new fancy website (China had a finger print scanner) that records all people infected (most people would have 5 days of food by now). During those 5 days of no movement other than emergency services, disinfect the city. Once those 5 days (+1 so as people can check if they have been near someone and are asymptomatic) have passed those that have recorded having symptoms or being near someone with them must stay indoors and have their food etc delivered at a certain time of day when others (non-infected) aren't moving about. Those critical are taken to hospital (with an alert given to the suburb stating to stay indoors whilst they are moved) and those infected daily report on that new website if they have increasing symptoms etc so as medical treatment can be prepared for them if necessary. Wait 3 weeks with this process (or max time known for virus to stop spreading +1 week) and hey presto virus contained (in a perfect world). The problem is that in order to do this citizens MUST comply with staying indoors for the first 5 days and also MUST report. As we have seen however that isn't going to happen (and not enough people to enforce it), just like the tracking website isn't going to happen due to too many people probably screaming privacy issues. There is a reason the lockdown worked so well in China and this is because they had the technology in place already due to their privacy/freedom restrictions to allow the government and professionals track the virus, infected and enforce the lockdown. It is a catch 22 for our modern society. We are all for freedom and hence the lockdown cant work and yet in this situation it is the removal of those freedoms we hold so dear that China had created years ago that has proved beneficial. As far as partial lockdowns are concerned, they shouldn't have happened. It should have been full lockdown, but governments are more worried about the economy than properly containing the virus.
  19. But that's my point though. Any form of lockdown that has been instigated by governments means just that. All persons isolate themselves (infected or not) within their own house and don't move about. That is what a lock down is. That's why the WHO announcement is just ridiculous as isolating non-infected AND infected is part of the lockdown. Infected people don't need to be at a hospital to be isolated unless their case is severe. (If a person has COVID-19 and doesn't realise it before symptoms show then there is a 90% chance those in the house also have it). In some countries such as USA and Australia, other than the select few states no true lock down has been ordered. Closing borders or self isolation if infected is not a lock down. What Italy and many other EU countries have down however is a lock down whereby ALL movement is restricted and EVERYONE isolates in their own home - or if severe a hospital. Any suggestion by the WHO or other governments for emergency services to lock down is ridiculous and would just never happen as that would put even more lives at risk etc. In addition they have preventative measures in place to help contain transmission (i.e. masks etc).
  20. Sorry, stopped listening to the WHO after they: Refused to call the virus a pandemic for 1 1/2 months despite its clear pandemic spread across Europe Allowed China to redefine who officially is counted as infected 3 times Allowed china to not count asymptomatic people (i.e. virus carriers) as part of the official infected count. Just to expand on this, through documents it has come to light that China had 40k asymptomatic people that were not counted as part of the 'official' infected rate meaning that their 80k infected is actually over 120k. All this due to point 2 above (them redefining who isn't infected to fudge the numbers). Due to WHO's ignorance of the above it has meant governments were continuing their strategies on flawed data whereby the WHO was declaring a 3% asymptomatic infection rate as opposed to the now believed ~36% asymptomatic infection rate. Dilly dallied on providing decent and accurate information to the world governments so they can prepare better. And probably more I have forgotten Now, despite for weeks prior stating locking down a country like China did is the only way and used China as evidence of this they are saying that isn't good. Hence we have governments using this method due to previous WHO advise and in the process destroying economies to do it. To top it all off they are saying lockdowns are, per your post, not a good idea unless those with the virus are not isolated? Well unless I'm wrong, forcing people not to move about not only helps pinpoint cases but also isolates those cases to not only the cases themselves but also people they have had the most contact with. This contains the infected to a specified zone whereby measures can be put in place to properly help them as well as disinfect the zone they were in. That is to say, per their wording, allowing the "putting in place strong public health measures" so that when the lockdown is lifted the virus doesn't spread. The mind boggles how the UN and its numerous associations are still around after having absolutely no power, doing nothing for mankind or the environment and providing no educated responses to crises, apart from a few hand spankings every now and then to a few countries with a floppy ruler. Fact of the matter is WHO have been the ones driving all of the government responses to this virus and so far everything they have said has been incorrect it seems and only contributed to the panic.
  21. I would say idiocy or arrogance would be the more correct. Society would impose the position that everyone is to blame which is not the case when it is the select few that think they are the exception to the rules.
  22. And yet, it is the ignorance and arrogance of international travellers who are the ones that put Australian citizens at risk. Instead of self isolating for 14 days when coming into Australia like they are supposed to or if they have any symptoms, they go about flouting the current law. So what happens when people disrespect laws in place to stop the spread? You get news articles the next day revealing that 4 backpackers (i.e. international travelers) have tested positive, and instead of isolating like they should have been go outside and spread it around. So yes, any person that goes to a packed beach like that at these times are stupid, who is really to blame for the spread? I do certainly hope that those that have ignored the self isolating laws such as these backpackers seemed to have, are treated to the full force of the current law which is a lovely $11,000 - $50,000 fine (yes those are the correct figures) and a nice holiday in a jail cell.
  23. In case of emergencies there is always this method. In all seriousness though diarrhea is a symptom of the virus, I just don't think these people stock piling toilet paper understand it is a rare symptom
