    Portals

    I'm creating a Gateway, portal, so that when a user enters it, they are automatically teleported to another location. Is there a script that would work well for this, so that the user does not have to click the portal. If not, is there a script available so that when the users touches the portal, a part of it changes, example the color or a door opens, then they can enter. I know this may be a complex script.... or... it might be easy. Thanks everyone.
  2. Ever since about June, I have been having issues logging in to second life on the official Linden Labs viewer. I spend on average 20 minutes trying to log in every time I come on. I will usually ether have it log me out immediately on getting into the game, it'll log me in, but underwater, and I can't TP or do anything, or it'll stall on the log in screen till I force quit it, eventually I will manage to log in, but it takes forever. Some days are worse then others. Ever since the most recent update, I have also started to have the TP log out issue again, though not as bad as it use to be. Here is my info from the about SL section: Second Life Release 6.3.1.530559 (64bit) Release Notes You are at 201.0, 126.0, 24.9 in Hippo Hollow located at sim10204.agni.lindenlab.com (216.82.49.70:13017) SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hippo Hollow/201/126/25 (global coordinates 238,281.0, 244,862.0, 24.9) Second Life Server 2019-08-29T20:20:39.530516 Error fetching server release notes URL. 4. For the last few years in Second Life, I've noticed that when I teleport to other people, I rez on top of their heads. Why is that happening?
  5. Hello! I want to create a teleport effect script. you know such an attached particle emitter is triggered when you teleport the avatar to a new place. I do not know from what event to start it. is it also possible to make it not work when simcrossing?
  6. Since a few weeks i've been having, just out of the blue, troubles with urls from https://maps.secondlife.com. I normaly just went on chrome and when i got an Url from https://maps.secondlife.com i clicked the orange button "visit this location" and then in firestorm a new window opened ("places") and i could tp to where i wanted to go. But recently that new window ("places") never comes on firestorm anymore. So i just wanted to know does anyone have the same problem and is there a solvation for it?
  7. The past few days I've noticed that I'm having trouble teleporting. When I TP, it takes a while and then I get the popup saying I have been logged out of Second Life. I can't teleport anywhere I've searched the forums for answers and quite a few posts mention having complex folder structures in the inventory and heavy scripts. To test this, I logged into my Alt account which basically has no inventory, and no HUDs and noticed I still had the same problem. I then noticed to see if it was internet problem, but I ran the speedtest and I get good results. To test it out, I tethered my phone using mobile data to my computer to see if the internet was better. It yielded the same result. Is anyone else having the same problem? Update 1: I've also noticed it takes ages for the sim to load and even then the sim is partially loaded, and my avi too.
  8. I have a script that sits a user a distance away. When the avatar stand, I would like the Avatar to return to a specific location, but can't find the standing event to trigger the action. Is there a status or function I can use to do that? Here is the flow Sit on object move avi to X,Y,X + 20,20,20 Stand move avi to X,Y,Z
  9. My SL husband and i Own a full region, we can not get to it tonight, Teleport failed, failed to grant capabilities, we are trying to find out if there is a way to restart the sim with out being ON the sim, - like a back door, other options, - we put in a support ticket and waiting for a response, - we hope one day they change the dashboard to include this as an option when you cant get on your sim - any suggestions ?
  10. Question: Am I overlooking anything? Background: I believe that the llTeleportAgentGlobalCoords( key agent, vector global_coordinates, vector region_coordinates, vector look_at ) does not respond to the vector look_at parameter when teleporting within a Region. When teleporting to another region (meaning different from where avatar started), the vector look_at parameter works fine. I submitted a bug report at: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-214737 , which is related to an old comment https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7987 Others have discussed this in another topic at This is the test code I used in https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-214737 . /* Step One. Go to Linden public sandbox region named "Sandbox Mirus". Step Two. Place the following code in a default cube and touch it, being sure to accept the permissions request. Step Three. Observe that the Telport within the region named "Sandbox Mirus" __ DOES NOT __ point you to the specified vector look_at direction. Step Four. Pick the cube up and place the cube in the adjacent region named "Sandbox Peritus." Step Five. Once again touch the cube, being sure to accept the permissions request. The script will teleport you back to region named "Sandbox Mirus". Step Six. Observe that your avatar is now indeed pointed in the direction vector look_at direction. */ key agent = NULL_KEY; // Region "Sandbox Mirus" is at global coordinates <256512,130560,0> // A Second Life Premium Sandbox vector global_coordinates = <256512,130560,0>; vector region_coordinates = <128,128,30>; // coordinates relative to region corner // Vector to lookat-direction when landing after teleportation // North is <0., 1., 0.> // South is <0., -1., 0.> // East is <1.,0.,0.> // West is <-1.,0.,0.> // North West is <-1.,1.,0.> // North East is <1.,1.,0.> // South West is <-1.,-1.,0.> // South East is <1.,-1.,0.> vector look_at = <-1.,0.,0.>; // Points West default { state_entry() { agent = llGetOwner(); llRequestPermissions(agent, PERMISSION_TELEPORT); } touch_start(integer total_number) { if ( agent == llDetectedKey(0) ) { llTeleportAgentGlobalCoords( agent, global_coordinates, region_coordinates, look_at ); } } run_time_permissions(integer perm) { // if permission request has been denied (read ! as not) if (!(perm & PERMISSION_TELEPORT)) { llSay(PUBLIC_CHANNEL, "I need Owner permissions to teleport Owner!"); llRequestPermissions(agent, PERMISSION_TELEPORT); } } }
  11. I have been looking through scripts all day and i am no good with modifying them at all.. i have a linked mesh teleport directory i do like i want to use that to get to destinations on the sim that are over 300 meter away. (even 3000+). It should be not landmark based nor link in chat but simple sit/ on touch go there. so far i have found sittarget which only works 300 meters, a moveobjecttotarget which does not work due to links and teleport with landmarks. I do have a teleporter pad, that uses the descriptions its counterparts to make up a menu for teleportation. well if that works and one could use the click part as a destination that is chosen like the menu and then .... well thats where i have to stop, as i have no idea how to go from there. mfg

  13. I accidentally clicked the "Don't show me this again" box in the Teleport "Are You Sure" box and I can't figure out how to turn it back on. Anyone know how to turn the "Are You Sure?" box back on for the Teleport?
  14. I click on a SLURL in my email program, http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Maryport/42/21/2603 Usually I get a web page with a map of the grid and the option to Teleport or Join. Currently I get a dialog: We are unable to locate the region "Maryport" This region may no longer exist, but please doube check your spelling and coordinates to make sure there aren't any errors and try again. If you problem persists, contact Second Life Support. There is a square button: Hide message When I paste the same SLURL into Firestorm, I teleport as expected.
  15. Hello, I am new here on site and its great but I have some problems with teleport. When I choose to teleport to some destination I always get some error message that I cant teleport. Especially to adult destination. Please if you can help me about it. Thank you in advance. Regards.
  16. Hi, this is not a new topic for many here because mostly the issue is a fixed landing point, that is not an issue here because there is not a fixed landing point on the parcel. My ALT is not the parcel owner (mainland), I am the parcel owner, but my ALT has full group rights and he's wearing the group tag. He has set Landmarks before in the parcel and they still work, but he tried today to TP with a new Landmark and got the error message 'Could not teleport closer to destination' ... He tried setting new Landmarks at different points but gets the same result ... also he is not too close to where he wants to go. Any ideas why that might be?
  17. These issues started about two months ago or so. Everything works fine upon logging into to second life, but after staying on for about half an hour or so i am unable to teleport to any places whatsoever, i can't make changes or recieve items to my inventory, i can't recreate the bridge either. If i try and teleport it will freeze on the teleport loading screen and eventually log me off the viewer. Things i've tried so far: Tried multiple viewers Tried both 64 and 32 version of firestorm Tried opening ports in my firewall, also completely turning off the firewall, disconnecting from router and plugging directly into the socket. Increased and decreased bandwidth used in the viewer Turning off RLV completely and removing all RLV objects on the avatar Have done multiple cache clears as a final resort. I am out of ideas.
  18. R.I.S.K. is one of those places where you feel comfortable and welcomed. The sim is beautiful and the Naughty Box is so much fun. So many awesome nights in there! You should check it out some time. Make sure you use the teleport system to TP around the sim. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bermuda Beach/160/235/22
  19. Lately, for some reason, I'll try to attempt a teleport (anywhere) and I get a slow crawl on the progress bar followed by an ejection. Anyone else having this problem?
  20. Hello! I have this teleport script by Eightball Magic. It's no config teleport. You place two teleports and go. So. Its possible to set limited destination access for group / owner only. How to set it for two avatars only (me and my friend). I guess its somekind UUID access limit. Thank's for any help! This line gives limitation for owner only. I think to replace it for specific avatar UUID somehow... : else if (llSubStringIndex(llList2String(descriptions, 0), "!") == 0 && id != llGetOwner()) { llRegionSayTo(id, 0, "Only the owner are allowed to teleport to locations marked with '!'"); llUnSit(id); Or do i loose something else?.. 22. Yooo. I've seen some cool teleport effects in my short time on Second Life. People teleporting into a sim with arcane symbols, coloured particles, and cool sound effects. Inspired by these, I've been trying to put together a script that will attach a particular item to my avatar (it's a rotating spiral of magic symbols) when I teleport or am teleported. Now, I have next to no scripting knowledge and everything I've tried thus far has involved cannibalizing and sewing together free full-use scripts. As you can guess, I haven't gotten anywhere. Is what I'm trying to do actually possible?
  23. i'm trying to write a script that will teleport me to my home if i'm AKF for more than 3 minutes. i have the AFK timer part, but i'm having trouble w/ the command to teleport myself. can anyone help?
  24. I just downloaded the game. I am looking forward to being able to play it but every time I go through a portal to teleport to another place I end up floating above an ocean and can't go anywhere else. I am playing on a macbook pro. Someone please help me to resolve this issue so I can explore
