  1. That's great for people who want that and they should pursue that. Some don't including me. It wouldn't matter how great, reliable or cheap people say they are. Generally: People in this topic need to get a grip. At no point have I said that this is a deal that will appeal to everyone or even all Europeans. I said it makes perfect sense for people like me. This is all starting to look like people are shilling for the estates. Some people prefer estates and estates want you to put your business with them, we get it, move on. *checks topic* Nope, this topic is definitely about P+ and Homesteads and not estates.
  2. I'm going to nip this in the butt right now and for all intensive porpoises these things are one in the same. You have another thing coming if you dare to wreck havoc in this topic. I could care less but here is the case and point, nobody but nobody will get away with these supposably bogus activities which precede to demonstrate a deep-seeded disrespect for everyone. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

  4. Just adding to this that some areas of mainland also have blocks on subdividing as well as terraforming.
  5. A lot of the land under water cannot be raised enough to make it appear above land. Most of mainland has -4m/+4m limits to raising. Unfortunately it can be really hard to know when buying what is the situation without getting the person selling to show you. What people do when they cannot raise the land enough is build an island or base of some sort to go on top of the water. Another option is a stilt-style house with decking.
  6. I stand by what I said. There is now a private island ownership option from LL that is half the previous cost, the tax has nothing to do with that either way. I'm not excluding anyone. It makes perfect sense if someone wanted to buy an island from LL but was put off by the cost of a full island but find that these changes bring it within their budget and what they are willing to spend. End Of. That is all I meant and if you have an issue with that, then I'm afraid that's all yours. In Your Opinion . Please remember that. It may mean that for you but you don't speak for anyone else and as such it is pure speculation that everyone thinks like you about it.
  7. It makes perfect sense if you don't want to rent from a land baron and if you don't this is the most cost effective route. Getting the absolutely rock-bottom cheapest price for something isn't the primary driver for everyone.
  8. I expect that this is because the key/values are being stored as a dictionary/hashmap/hashtable which often do not guarantee any particular order and are designed mainly for fast random access.
  9. It certainly isn't an option you can select when placing your order. LL does have program to request connecting private estates to mainland but I doubt they would do it for a single homestead.   11. Just to revisit this now that my new region has been delivered, I can say yes you are allowed to have neighbours with your region by mutual agreement just in the same way you can with a full region.
  12. There is literally nobody over the internet I would ever trust with this. People may disagree with me and again that's their risk to take. I just wouldn't.
  13. It's just my preference to go directly to the service provider that provides the service to everyone. Everyone else should choose what's right for them. Of course it's YMMV, I didn't suggest otherwise.
  14. At least now there are more options and PI ownership is more accessible than it has ever been before. If ever you feel different it will probably still be an option.
  15. Let's not forget that the P+ with Homestead option you don't just get the Homestead and that is it. You also get the 2048 tier along with all the other P+ things. True that without the Homestead option it wouldn't have represented good value to me but I do want the Homestead and those other things are still very desirable to me. Even if I could have just rolled on up and paid for just the Homestead on its own without P+ on top, I would still have retained my Premium anyway due to wanting the priority access to events, the extra groups, the stipend, the extra animesh attachment and the tier for my existing mainland which I will be keeping. So they got USD 150/year extra from me over that option. So yeah not as low cost as any of us would have preferred but all in all the price point definitely represents good value to me.
  16. I'm lucky that in my country while we have GST (simillar to VAT), LL does not charge us GST on LL purchases so far.
  17. Even to take just a full private island instead of the P+ Homestead option would be: Cost of full private island = USD 349 Full Private Island Setup + USD 229/Month Full Private Island Fees = USD 3097 for first year and USD 2748/year after that.

Cost of full private island + Homestead = USD 349 Full Private Island Setup + USD 229/Month Full Private Island Fees + USD 149 Homestead Setup + USD 109/Month Homestead Fees = USD 4554 for first year and USD 4056/year after that. 2. Cost of P+ Membership + Homestead = USD 249/year + USD 149 Homestead Setup + USD 109/Month Homestead Fees = USD 1706 for first and USD 1308/year after that. Clearly the costs of 2. are lower than the costs for 1. if you want a Homestead regardless of the fact you are paying for P+
  20. The benefit is the significantly lowering the cost of ownership. The alternative if you don't want to rent is to own a full private island and then add the homestead costs on top. That comes to a significant amount more than going the P+ route.
