Mature female skins

I just signed up with an avatar looking 20 years old but I would rather like to have a character in her 40s or 50s. Where should I start please? Thank you in advance for your help.

The  majority of us aren't trying to make our avatars look our RL ages, but there are some mature skins available.  Here's one  Brazen Women.  If you search the Marketplace for "Mature Skins" you'll find some others.

Yes Brazen Women is a good shop. They also have a 'straightforward walk' instead of the swishy sexywalk but they call it something else.

I don't remember if they have shapes. If not I have a middle aged and two granny shapes in my shop & they are free. I used a Brazen Women skin for the middle aged shape.

You can use the text for the smiley face, like colon and parentheses for a normal smiley. Or you can click on the smiley above where you type. That will drop down a bunch of faces to choose from. Just click on one of those.

I think it's great when people choose to use a middle aged or older avatar without it being some kind of joke. Many of us behind the keyboards in SL are middle aged or older, and not all of us want to play skinny 20-somethings. I like my main avatar to look more or less like my RL self, so she's heavier than average for SL. I don't need a mature skin, but I'd like to have some hair with grey roots, because I actually like that look.

Ruby's has shapes and skins for a wide range of ages, including older women. Personally I find that among large skin makers Redgrave has skins with a more "mature" feel to them.

Pulse has skins for various age ranges too.  Some of their skins come in differnt versions for people in the 20;s, 30;s, 40's, 50's etc.  Basically they are the same skin with aging details added appropriate for the age level.

Thank you all for the great tips! Now all I have to do is ask money from my children who are already in Second Life and go spend it! After all, I bought them clothes for so many years when they were young, now it's my turn! :smileyvery-happy:

I saw the pics on the Marketplace and Brazen Women skins have poor quality in my opinion. They look like skins of some years ago. Looking for mature look, Pulse or Redgrave offers skins more realistic and detailed.

you can make most skins look older with shape adjustments..

if you are looking for middle aged skins that are around 35 to 40..you can get most any skins really..just do some adjustments to your shape that would add a few years to the skin..

i make my shape change and it changes the whole age of my skins pretty easlily with a little cheek puff here and eye adjustments and a little lip tweak ect..

if you are looking for past middle aged..then ya a skin could get those wrinkes and sun spots and other things that would make it look skin wise older..

I "think" Lion skins and Pulse also have more mature women

After looking on Marketplace, I think Pulse has the best-looking mature female skin, but it only comes in beige with different lip colors. If you want a cheaper skin with more skin tones to choose from, Dolly Rotten has some on marketplace for $L 99. The Brazen skins are priced between there somewhere.

I notice the men have many more choices for matuskin & shapes than the women do.

Are we women that much more vain than the men are?
