I have been on SL for over 11 yrs. and have never been banned from a store because I portray a Vampire in here.  My family that I belong to are very respectful to all peoples and sims.  I do not run wild in a biting frenzy.  I went to the Isle that sell Lara bodies, but when I arrived They said I had like 15 seconds to get my Bloodline Hud off.  I took it off.  I still got booted and now I can't get there at all.  Don't we have enough of that stuff in real life?  This is suppose to be a fun place to live your fantasy.  I am truly upset over this.  My friends bought there bodies there and they are all Vampires in here.  I wrote 3 people that are in charge of the store.  If I get help I wonder?  Where can I go to get a mesh body?  Help someone.

I did speak with Sandy eventually and was able to explain the situation.

Maitreya Isle has always welcomed everyone in whatever form they may present - within reason of course. But what we have never allowed or tolerated is harassment of others for any reason.  The activities that have been going on at our store recently created a situation that we could not ignore.

With the arrival of vampire HUDs that allowed attacks without consent, we began to see more and more complaints, upwards of 30 a day recently.  This was no doubt due to the fact that a group of vampires had claimed our region as their "territory" and were, as a member of that group said to me, "protecting what's [theirs] and establishing dominance".  This was done by attacking vampires and non-vampires alike.

We are fully aware that most vampires do not behave like this, in fact as often as not the attacks were made on vampires.  Could we have simply put up a sign? Sure. And who would abide by that sign? Not the attackers, just the victims. Yes, we did try the "Ask nicely" approach - it was an utter failure.

We have an automated system in place now that will temp ban and teleport home.  The ban duration is short, just enough really to keep someone from TPing back repeatedly to continue an attack.  The system cannot read intent.  But it can detect the HUDs and fangs if they are part of the system.  We don't want anybody attacked or griefed - no matter what their form.  And our vampire friends are just as welcome as always, along with everybody else. Just disarm yourself first.  Thanks

 

p.s. We are not asking anyone to change their appearance, all we care about is the scripted systems.

People are very very jaded over bloodlines, because of the lack of disrespect and how the system worked at one point in time and even after a fix was implemented it turned into people spampiring bites and that's another reason most people kick and ban.    but it is their sim and you came in with something on their auto system did not like, you'll have to take it up with them directly.

Sweety, if you think that someone dissing a Vampire in SL can be referred to as racism, then you need quite a bit of RL education.

Create an alt.  Give the alt the L$ to buy the mesh body.  Have the alt buy the mesh body as a gift, gifting it to you.

Create an alt if you don't already have one and gift yourself the body.  Going to busy places wearing unnecessary huds and such can also get you booted for too many scripts.  It's hardly discrimination or racism anymore than any rule a region has.  Anything about yourself can be changed to accommodate the region rules.

Well Vampires are not a race, so that wouldn't be racism. But I mean it would be discrimination alright, I mean if someone has a problem with your lifestyle, but I can see why. I get the annoyance, but as someone else said. Just create an alt, and just gift your main the stuff.

Region owners have always had reason for not letting people enter.  Too new, no payment info, too short, no males, no child avs, high script count.  

I do think, in this case, that they will probably let them back in after an explanation.  They've probably had trouble lately with vampires preying on new people coming in who may not be aware of the system.  That's my guess since I haven't heard of a region disallowing bloodlines in awhile.

I have not heard of regions doing that either in a while. So there must be more, than what she is actually telling.

Thank you for you responses.  I have been told on some sims that my scripts were to many.  But this is new.  A big red circle around your avi telling everyone that your a Vampire has basically arrive.  Some avatars are annoying to me also, but if a person respects the sims rules they shouldn't be put in a batch of (Oh no she is one of them).  It sounds like what is going on in the real world today.  Like I mentioned I have never been banned before.  I'm not keeping any Dark Secrets here.  I just want to buy my body and continue to enjoy SL.  I think anyone would be taken back if it would of happen to them.  TY for all your input.  It is appreciated.

I did contact anyone that could help me on the sims.  My friends who have the Lara body already and are Vampires had the same thing happen to them.  They wondered how they were going to upgrade?  My family is totally against the Vampire that use lies, badgering ,and total disrespect for other players in SL.  I am hoping I will get a Lara body,  but if not who else sells a good body that wears maitreya clothing?

As was mentioned previously -- just create an alt and give the alt the L$ needed to buy & gift the Lara body to you.  

Side note - once you have the body, you don't actually need to go to the store for any updates.  Those can be done with the updater that comes with the body.

I got my body!  I just had to remove all my Bloodline huds.  I guess customers were being harassed by vampires.  Up to 30 times a day.  I'm glad I joined a group that respects all the peeps on SL and Sims owned by them.  Now I don't have to make an alt.  Hard enuff to keep this one active.  Thank you all that took time to respond to my ranting.  Hugs

I wouldn't classify  this as "Racism" due to the fact that Vampires do not belong to a cultural or ethnical group, they are rather creatures. Also, sadly this doesn't violate any of second life's TOS or any rules and regulations. If the sim owner has a preference to not allow vampires, furry's or animal characters on his or her sim, that's just his or her regulations and neither would classify as "racist". The only way you can go around this is per say, change your avatar temporarily or like others stated simply create an ALT who doesn't have vampire huds or aesthetics and gift yourself the gift. It's kind of silly and I do believe that everyone should be able to experience free speech and free expression in second life. It shouldn't matter if you are an alien or monkey, however from my knowledge there were vampires years ago who weren't following regulations and it basically turned into a few bad eggs spoiling the whole dozen.
