0 Rolig Loon
As far as I know, those are the only two controls that you have unless you move to Phoenix, which doesn't have the annoying little yellow bubbles. :smileywink:

0 LoveAngeL Lyre
Hello Charolotte. I see long time your question here but no many answers. To make that issue less annoyable you can change your settings about your "toasts" (pop-ups). In viewer 2, Menu Me --> Preferences --> Tab Chat --> Set "Nearby chat toasts life time" to 1 and "Nearby chat toasts fading time" to 2. I cant think something else. I hope it will help you a little. 0 Luc Starsider
I think, as well as what the others have said, you can go to the properties of each inidividual grout and deselect the option to receive notices. I'm not entirely sure, though, and it would prevent you from receiving ANY notices from the particular group. - Luc -
0 Charolotte Caxton
Hi Luc. Thanks. I have already done that, you are right, it stops all notices...but not the ims. smiles
0 Charolotte Caxton
hmmm, interesting. I will try that. thank you.
0 Luc Starsider
/me slaps forhead. IM's! Not notices. I really should read things twice before answering, shouldn't I I suppose, if you don't want any notices or IM's, you could simply leave the group. That would surely solve the problem - Luc -
0 Claireschen Hesten
if you don't want group chat install phoenix viewer they have a preference where if you disable group notices for any group it will disable the group chat too
0 Rolig Loon
In Phoenix, you can turn off group notices selectively, and you can turn off ALL group chats (with Preferences >> Phoenix >> Chat >> Disable ALL group chats), but you can't turn off just a selected group's chats. It's all or nothing.
0 Peewee Musytari
@Rolig, that is correct, though you do also have an option to turn on being notified when a group chat opens (when you have them all switched off) so that you can choose to open it manually if you are interested in that one. 0 bee Baroque
in phoenix there is this option: "when receive 'group notices' is disabled, disable group chat as well", meaning you can select which groups you want group chat from by disabling their notices (notices can still be viewed in the notice archive). 0 Karu Wickentower
But what if she doesnt like Phoenix viewer? I personally like Viewer 2. I like the sleek UI of it and i should not have to switch to a 3rd party viewer that risks exploitation due to security issues and flaws contained within the program. 0 Rolig Loon
If you like V2, fine. Nobody is telling you to use Phoenix. In SL, you get to choose which viewer fits your own style and needs best. There are no security issues or flaws contained within Phoenix, BTW. You're hanging around too much with conspiracy theorists.
