Trying to find the name of the area I first ever owned 8 years ago

Have an idea it was Waring which I thought was part of the korea main island.  Could be wrong but just running around the map inworld hasn't helped and I think I would have deleted the original landmark.  I DID find a Cicero landmark for a 512m block sale that appears to be around the same time which led me there.  I looked in my Biling etc. but it doesn't seem to show an awful lot.

Would contacting billing help find the name?

Thanks in advance.

Pretty much.

I was trying to find old areas I used to visit around there as well. My girlfriend had a block next to mine and a friend I worked with was the otherside.

Guess it is a nostalgia trip but also want to document a short story in memory of my girlfriend who passed away in February.

It was her first shop and we had a great time there.

So much much looks familiar there but the name was all I wanted to know not the site.

Billing only goes back so far, and probably, over eight years, you'd have deleted old landmarks. However, did you take any photographs that would jog anyone's memory?  A long shot perhaps. Also take a look at this website for lists of sim names, see if your memory can be jogged.

(You can also see whether a sim is still active or not, or when it was added/removed from the grid.)

Pictures, unless you changed the name, will also tell you where they were taken.

Your mention of Waring brings back good memories. The first parcel of land I bought on the open market was in Waring, back in November 2006. At the time, the neighboring sim of Shubelik was for sale in parcels. Someone bought them all in order to have the complete sim. He built a huge complex that included artworks lining the walkways that spiraled up to a store. If you remember a build in Schubelik that was kinda like the Los Angeles airport tower, then Waring is your sim.

Land in Waring was selling for roughly L$8 per m2 in November 2006, which was rather cheap at the time. There were a couple nice builds on the eastern cliff, but Waring was generally empty. I loved the peace and quiet. The view was spectacular.

Actually, 8 years ago, all Snapshots were simply saved to the Photo Album folder as 'Snapshot'.

However the description field of snapshots maaay contain the location, even if it has been renamed. I can't remember if this was sthe same prior to the change to snapshot naming in... either late 2006 or early 2007.

you may have more landmarks than you think! if you haven't tried it yet, use the filter panel on the inventory, uncleck all, then turn on landmarks, and look at the whole inventory that way. you will probably find hundreds of old landmarks mixed in with old purchases and gifts, totally useless for finding places that moved or left, but awesome for waking up sleeping memories. old boxes can reveal another trove of fossil landmarks.

these might point to different regino names now if the places were on private islands that were renamed, but mainland landmarks hold up well.

You said you deleted the original landmark, but maybe you still have one to you friends land or other nearby place.  Maybe you have one that you renamed to something else.  I'd use my inventory filter to sort by date and look at your most ancient ones.

I've kept a landmark for every place I've ever lived or owned land.  Its fun to go on a nostalgia tour once in a while and see what, if any, changes time has wrought.

Yep I spent the last week going though a ton of Notes with landmarks in as well... Sure is EASY to accumulate a lot of stuff even since I returned :)

Pretty sure the site I was at in Waring is the place. Just no long a newbie first land area and all the silly houses and things we all used to build are gone.

Well thanks for all the ideas and have a good life, Second AND first.

There was a place down on the shore in 2006 when we all bought our land there that had the first mini casino I had ever seen on a small 256 block with camp chairs :) What fun AND a waste of hours LOL.

And off the coast was the first SL castle I had ever seen as well next door someone built a huge building that covered like 6 regular lots although I think it showed up just before we left.

Seemed that once we got lots of neighbors the land prices went up and so did WALLS and stupid things all in the air around us!  Had to get out and find a nice place without poofers and rotating monstrosities (can't say I wasn't part of it myself now and then tho).

Memories :)

Seems the quest is over. I was half right.

Waring was part of the early discount land packages on the bottom edge of Sansara.

There are still a couple of Castles off the coast but more updated than the old prim units :)

Biggest problem I found was the amount of abandoned land packages in some places 80% of a sim over the hill from Waring and further west have been just left fallow.  Kind of sad.  I still find the odd small parcel that has remnants or haven't changed a lot though.  Nostalgia is a killer :(

Anyways. Thanks for the ideas, I just wish I hadn't deleted all my DEAD landmarks, I might have been able to sell them on the market as antiques ;p
