Astrid Vemo
I thought this was not allowed. Who are the residents without the hand logo.? A Linden invasion or anybody has a clue???
Heart Brimmer
Those are merely members of the forum. One of which is ME.
Knutz Scorpio
My guess would be they are fresh meat new employees just hired and not yet fully processed. Just did a search on Baker and Caleb Linden, Baker now has the SL logo while I guess Caleb still hasn't earned his.
Echo Hermit
Knutz is right; Caleb and Baker just haven't gone through whatever process it is to appear as fully-fledged Linden people here on the forums. Keep watching :matte-motes-big-grin: There's a multi-step process. Involves slaying dragons, inventing cures, and convincing the Linden Badge Protection team that you're worthy. Oh, and there's an Essay. (that essay has been the undoing of many contenders) *winks*
Innula Zenovka
They've both been around for quite some time -- Baker some weeks, at least, and Caleb several months, I think.
Perrie Juran
See this thread where Lexie Linden explains that phenomenon. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Something-Linden/m-p/1586431/highlight/true#M69943 Essentially as I get it from her comment, the account is reserved for the Linden but for some reason the hand does not appear until (after) their first log in to the Forum. eta for acuracy
Nuhai Ling
There are three phases a Linden name goes through... The account is created by Master Linden when a new employee is hired. It appears as a normal account until it is used to sign in. Once the new Linden signs in, the automated system gives them "the hand." Signing in to the grid is different than the forums which is why an in-world Linden might be without "the hand" in the blogs. Once the Linden leaves, the system downgrades them to just "the finger." Because SL and its associated forums, blogs, etc. are no longer Linden Lab's priority, hires who never learn about them appear to go strait from creation to being given "the finger." Linden Lab plans to correct this problem with a new app due out this winter. With one touch, employees will update to "the hand" without any knowledge of Second Life AND it will give regular users "the finger" too. For those not using Apple iPads, Linden Lab is assuring all its residents they will get "the finger" eventually! Aren't you glad you asked?! :matte-motes-big-grin:

LOL, because Lindens NEVER log in.
