Claireschen Hesten
i just saw about this on the news apparently the best time to see it is sunrise since it's going to be more than a hundred years before this happens again i may well make the effort to be awake at sunrise to see it

Lynda Baran
If weather prevents good viewing you can see the event by going to NASA's website. Since the end of Shuttle flights, they have nothing better to do than put stuff up on the internet.

Here is a link with more information. Check the 'Where to see...' graphic toward the bottom of the page to see where it will be visible in your part of the world (weather permitting). http://www.space.com/15541-venus-transit-sun-2012-guide-infographic.html

Nyll Bergbahn
I witnessed the entire June 2004 Transit of Venus as it was a gloriously sunny day here in Ireland and the entire transit was visible. The transits always occur in pairs eight years apart and this is the last one anyone alive today is likely to see (next one is in 2117). Unfortunately this time for me I'll have to get up at 4am or so as the Sun will rise with the transit near the end so I'll need a clear horizon and a lot of luck with the weather!
