"Dido Haas presents Hilaire Beaumont, an artist who is once again almost unbeknownst to me. I saw one picture of Hilaire so far. it was exhibited at Valium SL – Hermosa in January 2021 (read here). And Dido wrote: “Until now only existing flickr works of Hilaire were shown at a few galleries”. At the August exhibtion new artwork from Hilaire Beaumont is shown, The title and the pictures speak for themselves – Tough Man." Read more on the blog.

Second Life Endowment for the Arts - 26.jpg

"“Metsovaara Oy! Galleria” is a new exhibition celebrating one of the most internationally recognizable, productive, and creative textile artists of all time, Marjatta Metsovaara. She also happens to be the Aunt of a long-time Second Life citizen and prolific RL/SL Artist Musician, Mario Metsovaara. Mario has created a conceptual gallery build at Second Life Endowment for the Art’s central region, SLEA 7, texturizing more than 25 prim tiles with actual photos of textile prints that his famous Finnish Aunt designed. The exhibition also includes several portraits of the celebrated businesswoman and the artist in her prime." Read more on the blog.

"I went there on Saturday, July 10th, and I was overwhelmed by the many different installations. Each of them would easily be enough and worth an extra visit and a seperate blog entry...Delain Canucci’s scenes are in several separate rooms. You can see 4 boxes from where you land and several entrances, marked with light frames along the walls." Read more on the blog.

Virtual Chelsea Hotel - 1.png

"The virtual Hotel Chelsea can be looked at as a continuation of what had begun in a section of Manhattan many years ago. Painters, sculptors, writers, photographers and musicians began to gravitate to the area surrounding the hotel, and to the hotel itself. What the virtual Chelsea has done is a continuation of the traditions that formed there in the 50’s and 60’s. It is the intent of these writings to recognize and to celebrate these traditions and its artists." Read more on the blog.

"I was first introduced to Nekonuko’s art around four years ago through a couple of exhibitions in 2017. I’m not sure if it is because she exhibits sparsely, or just that I’ve managed to somehow miss any exhibitions of her work between then and now, but I confess I was surprised that is has been so long since I’ve had the opportunity to write about her art, as it really is quite captivating." "The exhibition is shown at the main building of the Kondor Art Center. As the name implies, it features a broad variety of Akim’s artwork. The gallery building has 2 floors and offers quite a lot of space for displaying. In the center at the staircase is a picture frame where the pictures showcased in this exhibition are displayed as a slideshow with smooth fading transisitons." Read more on the blog.

"Each year the Second Life Birthday events attracts resident exhibitors from across Second Life and its multiple communities, giving them the opportunity to promote their work and their activities to the virtual world at large, and SL18B in no exception. One of the communities that, through individual and cross-supportive exhibitions, always offers much to see is the Second Life arts community, and in this article I’ve tried to highlight as many of those that I’m aware are participating in this year’s event. If I have missed yours, then I extend my apologies." Read more on the blog.
