ressurecting this thread but nyeh I like to play baseball in SL with friends during the summer interestingly enough it's about the only major league sport in SL that doesn't have league teams, we need to fix that but yeah I do know there's playable football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, volleyball, golf, skydiving, surfing, ice skating, roller skating, shooting, scuba diving, fishing, diving and swimming, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, fencing, archery, hang gliding, sailing, snowboarding, skateboarding, simboarding, sim ball, frisbee, wakeboarding, car racing, motocross, tennis, yoga, aerobics, gymnastics, cheerleading,. equestrian events, rodeo, bicycling, rock climbing, big game hunting, jetskiing, snowmobilling, skiing, bobsledding, dogsledding, *gasp deep breath* windsurfing, canoing, rowing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, kendo, weightlifting,AND bowling and that's just based off the items I've seen for sale on Xstreet so yeah there's sports in Second Life

sorry if I'm doing some thread necromancy but yeah Hoof It horses are good for this, they are completely moddable, I replaced the textures, added a new mane and tail, replaced the saddle saddle blanket and tack, and added a few other things, and even made it slightly bigger (I just have a fascination for HUGE horses) this is the base I started with this is my horse now AKK is good too, and I think they're moddable as well (have an AKK version of my horse set for pulling carriages)

anyone tempted to go to the website these spammers are advertising, see if they have a forum, and start posting SL related threads? or as I just IMed one of them "hi I'm looking to watch some crappy ass shows like Jersy Shore or X Factor even though they suck ass, but I don't have a tv and I'm incredibly cheap, do you know where I can watch them online for free? I looked and looked in forums that have nothing to do with those shows and cant find any links, thanks for your help" I doubt I'll get a response but it was just so cathartic

if you've seen Seven Shikami's arcade games you know that there;s a pretty good working DDR system in world which makes me thing what if you could code something like that into a regular dance HUD as a way to make dancing in SL more interactive rather than click on a dance and go into auto pilot you wear the dance HUD and choose your dance style and you dance like normal, but arrows flash on the hud that you have to match with your arrow keys (you can set their speed to match the rythm of the music you're listening to) missing the key triggers a 'stumble' animation

I'm one of those wierdos that tries to make SL me look like RL me, a more stylized and idealized version sure but basically those who see my RL pic say "you look like your avatar" so I don't really feel the 'jealous of my avatar' thing

each year in November one of the residents makes a sim that replicates the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, it's really well done, and I got confirmation that it will be returning this year, I'm glad it is because I want to get video footage of it because it is really well done ideally I'd love to put together a machinema that looks like the television broadcast of the parade here's where you come in, keep in mind this would be all on a "this is just for fun" volunteer basis so you're not going to get paid do you have an avatar of a celebrity? or a costumed character? or are you an SL celebrity? want to get some footage riding on the floats? or do you do voice work and want to be an announcer for the parade? if we want to get really fancy, I can sprinkle commercial breaks in the parade of machinemas by others that are commercials for SL products or locations or shows (the SFL promo that's in another thread would go great for a commercial break) again this is a just for fun idea and you wont be paid (as I'm more or less broke heheh) but if you think this would be fun send me a message either in this thread or in world I uploaded the photos of last years parade so you can get a basic idea, and it can be viewed here

if you are still looking I would love to put in for this position english is my first language I can be online as long and as often as needed I have a bachelors in freelance graphic design and have studied art both academicly and as a hobby for years, not to mention I've been making my own art since I was a child I can assist in any way needed, especially catalog creation (see freelance design diploma above)

for me it depends upon the time of year, I wont hit summer destination sims in December and vice versa but here's a run down of my faves by month January I usually hit the slopes of Wolf Mountain, skiing, snowboarding sleigh rides, ice skating, ect Feb, warming up a bit for the winter sports but not warm enough to break out the spring stuff besides, its valentines this month, so I hit the romantic hot spots March, well o course I head down to the Dublin sims to hit the pubs for a wee drink o' Guinness April, on April 1st I find sims that tickle my funny bone, beyond that I'm having fun decorating sculptey easter eggs and hiding them around my home parcel May, I slip into my shorts and short sleeved shirts and invite friends to sims that have nice public parks (like WIllowdale) for a picnic June weather's getting a little hot so I head over to the SS Galaxy for some sun, water skiing, scuba diving, sailing and other water activities or sometimes I'll grab my golf clubs and play a few rounds at Green Acres July, BBQ and fireworks at my house! or I'm fishing across 7Seas, or I'm enjoying the rides at Prim Hearts, or Magicland August, way to close out summer by hitting the waves a few last times at some of the beach sims with my surfboard Sept, fun fact, Oktoberfest begins in late september despite the name, so grab my dirndl and a stein of beer and head to the Munich sims, otherwise I'm over at Aero Pines riding my horse through the trails and watching the leaves change, or I'm at a campground sim with some huntable deer and my blaze orange and my rifle Oct does it even need to be said? Bloodlines all the way Nov, there's a chill in the air and Aero Pines has some nice activities this time of year, including a corn maze (they had one last year anyway) and the past couple of years there's been a sim that's had a SL version of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, if it's back this year I'll get video Dec, Tis the season, at my home decorating the tree, or out shopping for everyone, or ice skating (bonus if one of the New York sims has ice skating at Rockefeller Center) or at Aero Pines or Wolf Mountain riding in a one horse open sleigh

Staying over water helps also but the places I call the dead sea are those spots the are grayed out on the mini map and you have to find away around them. Why can't LL fill these spots in so you could at least navigate from one continent to another. actually I thought a while back an idea like this, essentially they'd be Linden owned sims that you're not allowed to purchase or build on bonus if they could make them like deep ocean areas (lower the land as deep below sea level as possible) and have some whales or other large fish migrate around them or something
