  3. Being as you seem to have an affection for legal principles with latin phrases, here is one for you: Caveat emptor. This more appropriately addresses this situation I believe.
  4. There has been more debate on this subject than I could keep up with. Knock yourself out on that link.
  5. Yes it is, but from a legal standpoint only the original IP owner can make that claim with a legal certainty. Edited to add: If you feel strongly enough about it, the only option available to you is to notify the original IP owner, then they can decide if they want to pursue it, if the content is stolen.

I hate to break it to you, but you did just react...
  7. Simple. Only the IP owner knows if they have an arrangement with that person allowing them to market their IP. Therefore, only the IP owner can knowledgeably say whether or not the IP is stolen.

It's called exercising GOOD SENSE on the Internet. A brief perusal of this Forum will turn up many threads about people who have had their accounts compromised, people who have been griefed, and people who have had other problems. In many cases they failed to exercise GOOD SENSE. What is sadder though is many times when this is brought to their attention they then argue and fight with those of us who do excercise GOOD SENSE. As Canoro pointed out, there are better ways to reach an audience. What you are asking people to do is not an exercise in GOOD SENSE. It would be a BAD HABIT for people to get into. You tell the audience more about you than me. Yes, because you did not take the time to tell the audience anything about yourself or your motivation to preface your requests for emails. Anyone with good sense who has been on the Internet for more than 5 minutes knows to be suspicious. Trust on the Internet must be earned, it is not automatic. This is not a court of law, the burden does not rest on the audience to prove your motivation, the burden rests on you to provide a foundation for trust. I have no reason to trust you yet, so the safe avenue is to treat you cautiously.
  9. I would like to hear some of the other Marilyn Monroe quotes that you have come across, or was it just one that got you to the tipping point?
  10. It is not (just) the data limit that can cause a bottle neck, it is the number of users who can listen to the stream at one time, and this depends on the upload speed of your internet connection if you are hosting from your own machine. If you are streaming MP3s at a bitrate of 96 kbps, then having 10 listeners at the same time would require an upload rate of 960 kbps. My particular upload is 1547 kbps, so I could only stream at 96 kbps to about 14 people at a time. That is where the limitation can come in. Edited to add (just).

While bandwidth packages are increasing for a lot of Internet consumers, the amount of bandwidth needed for a busy club would prohibit most from doing this. Though it is good advice, and certainly something one should look into before spending the money on a dedicated stream.

She was afk at the time will receive it when she gets back. Hopefully she will take action. I'll send you her avatar name in a Private Message here in the forum in case you need to contact her further. You can also PM me here if you need any further assistance. Lol, now she is getting spammed. I had not refreshed the page before I sent my response. I was unable to find Comfortably Numb SE. I found SW and several other directions, but SE was missing from my area search...
  13. I have chased down the owner of the object, which does not appear to be in world anymore. It is appears to have been the rental device on a sim. I left the info of this thread with the owner, perhaps you will see a resolution.
  14. I would start by trying to hunt down the object. There appears to be a Comfortably Numb sim in SL. Perhaps start there.
  15. You will never see him coming....

  18. Everytime I see one of these very public, big-production proposals, the thought always crosses my mind at the end, how can the woman say anything but yes? Talk about pressure. Seems to me it eliminates the possibility of them being able to entertain any of their own doubts should they have any.

  21. The op did not say anything about the site not working, he said he switched to a different site.

Pussycat Catnap wrote: Currently, nonpayment results in a permanent account deletion - unrestorable. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Delinquency_policy You have 30 days before an account is placed in delinquency. I don't believe accounts are still deleted for nonpayment, there is no mention of this in the terms.
  23. It would really not be good business for Linden Lab to treat nonpayment as an automatic downgrade to service. There could be any number of reasons including temporary financial difficulties, healthy issues, unexpected incidents/accidents, or acts of nature that could preclude someone from paying on time, without the intent of downgrading service. It would be a great disservice if an event like one of these were to occur, and the customer inadvertantly loses their land and has their prims returned (hopefully without loss), or other unforeseen ramifications. For this reason alone, LL cannot treat nonpayment as a decision to downgrade.
  24. You are way late to the Party. But don't hold your breath, you will not get a response from Linden Lab.
