Trying to buy some lindens before the fees go up and I thought I would try the best rate option for a change. I set it for 249 exchange rate and it came back saying it would take about 10 minutes. I clicked Place Order and the page renewed to a blank white page. I waited a bit thinking it would refresh and show a successful transaction message at some point but it never did and eventually my default homepage showed up. No L$ and my connected Paypal account shows no activity. Is there somewhere that I can see if the buy option is still pending?

An increase in the stipend if signing up for another year like they do in IMVU, would be a great idea. It would certainly swing me over to renewing for this coming year if they bumped it up to 350 for example whereas as of today I am thinking of letting it lapse for now to see if I would actually miss it. The saving does not seem all that good like it was a 2-3 years ago.

I agree some are challenging even to get a hint of a smile though as I mentioned, the lip width slider helps with keep the the potential for grimacing to a minimum. Sometimes too, I have to add some lip fullness to moderate the effect. One head I picked on a limited time free offer, I wound up not even being able to get something close to a smile so it sits at the bottom of the closet and am thankful it was free. There is always the pouting look though which seems to trigger invites for lap sitting from strange men!

In my defense I changed from Paypal to adding a canadian credit card figuring I would save money by cutting out PayPal as a middleman. Ouch. I just looked through all of Tilia's and relevant S/L pages involving the buying and selling of Lindens and Premium and nowhere do I find any reference to their currency conversion fees. Would have thought they would be required by law to have it prominently displayed. Strikes me as a little underhanded considering the excessive amount they charge.

The drop in region sales was as a result of the uplift rather than because of Covid.

I usually turn mouth corners up very slightly in the Appearance hud to 55-60 or so depending on the head. At the same time I tend to keep lip width a bit under 50 so I get just the hint of a smile without risking going into a grimace with some head ao's. I find it best for inworld so I don't get mistaken for a domme

Like Firestorm? It is one of the busiest groups on my list but to my mind an invaluable service to the community. I can think of a few other large groups too that are very good at providing help to new and old alike though maybe because they are more commercially oriented, there is some justification.

Because after 5 months of badgering the Lab to fix it, it deserves it own thread and headline probably.

I looked into how much it cost me last year April to buy premium ($99 US) and then a few weeks later to buy $100 US of Lindens. The Premium went through my Paypal and the L$ went through my credit card. The credit card purchase cost me an additional $16 Ca because of Tilla's higher exchange rate. So I removed the credit card I had filed with LL and now payments will be through Paypal as its exchange rate is better than Tilla's at least. YMMV but worth checking out.

Was assuming American as they are one of the few without universal healthcare.

And those creators rent or buy regions to support their product sales. I suspect a good percentage of those L$ eventually get back to the Linden coffers in one way or another.

Thing is that the Lab was making enough to put a sizable investment into Sansar which has now been stopped and sold. If the amount they were making then was enough to create that platform, then they should still be making enough to hire more people to create a new viewer. At this point I have not seen any changes in the way the Lab is going to proceed that warrants investing even more in the way of fees. Still just hearing "soon". Personally I find it a little crazy that I actually have to pay a fee to buy the tokens that allows me to pay them upload fees as well as buy items in their world. At $1.49 it was no more then a transaction fee but at the new rates, they are making money at it, not just a bit of compensation for the actual transaction.

I simply reported the study's infected mask wearing numbers. That doesn't equate to misunderstanding it. I get the sense that you just don't care for the implications but on the other hand it does beg the question whether the mask failed the wearer or did the wearer fail the mask. While I am at it, this study proves that influenza, flu and pneumonia's cannot be down because of mask wearing. Since the viruses and their transmission are similar to the Covid one, it does not make sense that mask wearers are only prone to Covid and somehow magically filter out the rest. I don't know why the numbers are down other than there simply isn't enough people infected with the flu to pass it on but from a practical point of view, it isn't because of masks.

When an entity does not look outside of itself, it is doomed to become irrelevant.

There are other grids that have figured out how to do that so likely S/L could too.

I dunno but I still experience server regressions in terms of performance from a lag and slow loading perspective. Almost 4 months after the Uplift has been completed, certain clubs and regions are still a laggy mess whereas 8 months ago when they were still on the server farm, they were no problem. Teleports are no longer crashing but TP transit times have significantly increased to a point where when jumping away from busy regions, it is faster to log out and back in to the destination. Maps are still not working in spite of several promises they were to be fixed soon. The Mobile viewers for IOS and Android are getting to be the usual long term project with no word on their progress. And we recently had word the TPV meetings are now being cut back to once every 2 weeks which does not sound positive for continued opensource side of S/L. The only things the Lab seems to actually schedule with certainty is increased fees whereas system updates are on the order of indefinite. If the fee increases were to actually help with the Lab feature update schedules with the same certainty as fees, I would be quite fine with paying out more but at this point I see it being a case of paying more for less. There is a boatload of feature requests that couldn't be implemented even if you doubled the workforce so what the use of submitting more? Just adds to the pile you will have to say "soon" to while working on features like EEP. Maybe LL could consider taking the extra money it will make from these fee increases and hire someone who can schedule dates for when features or bugs will be implemented rather than leaving it to the inscrutable future. I'd wager a lot more would be accomplished then putting the word Soon to every ETA.
