    There is no compromise to work at, I'm afraid. These forums are not a parliament. The new TOS is out there already and people have to agree with them at log in. So I guess it is simply frustration on all sides.

    Why chose the easy solution of upgrading ones software, if the hardware doesn't stand in the way to do so, when one can go the difficult road to search for workarounds over and over again?

    For those who really search for the simple solution when using a child avatar: Stay on G or M rated land with always enough clothes on and stay away from adult activities. That's all. Than the whole coverage of the skin is pure theoretical. Nobody will check, well maybe a few pervs, but LL will see them as pervs too, derendering other peoples clothes, pfffft. For those with a teen like avatar that might be just over or under 18: Buy a few tiny wrinkles for around the eyes and when you go to A sims or to places with adult activity add a few wrinkles and you are 5 -10 years older. Done. Taadaaaa....... And now continue with the but, if, and what about .....

    You chose to be in Second Life. Second Life has a ToS with rules. Like it or not. It is take it or leave it. That is where it all boils down to. No need for 50 more pages of discussion.

    That thread has a very good purpose, and I guess that is the reason why the mods let it live: People can let of steam and be grumpy for a while. Within the next days they will log in and have to agree with the toss. Then they will cool down. When that thread is shut down too early anger will only grow.

    I think a mobile app is a chance to boost Second Life. If it will succeed only the future can tell. It is a good thing that the Lab takes it time to develop the devise. IMHO it will only get one chance. People are very spoiled these days with all kinds of cool on their phones. If they think that Second Life on their phone is meh, than all the development efforts are down the drain. And sadly there will be no second chance. The potential users will be of to the next cool new thing in a jiffy.

    Land flippers ain't the problem IMHO. The main problem is shortage of desirable land. If more people want a type of land than there actually is... prices will rise. And flippers will take desirable land in hostage, so that prices will rise even more. LL concentrates on Belli at the moment. But the needed capacity is almost reached. Almost all housing types are available on a daily basis. Most of types there have a healthy surplus available already IMHO they should start to concentrate more on new mainland development now.

    It is wise to let this rage go on for a while. People will log in to the world at some point this weekend and then realize they agreed to the TOS without reading or hesitating. And then things will calm down. If they close the thread the twisted nickers will only get more twisted.

    It is Friday... weekend starts at the Lab. There are only those around who feed the hamsters. Expect no answers before Monday, if ever here on the forums. More likely is a few new lines in one of the wiki pages or a new blog post.
