  1. He's my virtual dog, along with Wesley the Chicken Nugget! (Who knew a pit bull could be so adorable?)
  2. Oh, I *know* I'll want one of the log homes 'for keeps'. But I'll start with a month.
  3. Drat. Now I've gone and done it - my alt only landed a Vic across the road from open water in Ingram. Definitely not as prettily-situated as the riverside Century house I gave up (I've been experiencing Abandoner's Remorse), but it's the best Vic I've landed since then while waiting for the log/lodge houses and has, I think, a more interesting view of the water than the new Vics awaiting release. If I start to feel at home I'll have to promote another alt to Premium for the new theme. Not something I was intending to do. At all. Edit: And I've only just realized that train tracks run right behind the house (hidden at ground level) because I heard a train as it went by! Urgh.
  4. It's been back and forth: Meadowbrook then Belli alternating with refreshes. I'd leave it for a bit - see my comment about the Holliday parcel. Currently in maintenance.
  5. My alt just abandoned a trad in Holliday - I think it's been thrown back a few times because the nextdoor neighbor has erected a fence around his property that looks to be the height of a single storey house. There was a clue before I got there. (Didn't stick around long enough to see what it looked like when it rezzed.)
  6. Ah, so the ownership shown on my TP history and landmark lied! Kept showing as Linden-owned. *Still* showing like this - the first time I've seen this. Hmmm. At least it didn't stop me from having another go, as I'm in a time out.
  7. As you're into natural history displays, have you seen this? (The source includes some really nice insect illustrations.)
  8. I'm not a sand person, but if I were... it still hasn't shown up on the LP. Edit: There was a trad at 7:11, but not this one. (Maybe I broke it by changing the house type and opening the windows )
  9. Last one for the night - a sandy trad in Well Springs. A quick walk to the water. It's the Spring Moss Alderley with the light roof in the center of the aerial photo. I'll release it at 7pm SL time, in 11 minutes. Still in maintenance at 7:37, and with that, goodnight!
  10. Just got a Vic in Tingsbury, near but not on the water (it's the pink Doyle). Will release it at 6:10pm SL time. GONE before I could even hit the button to TP out.
  11. I'm going to release another Vic *with a driveway*, this one in Darromnan. At 5:25pm SL time - 13 minutes from now. GONE in about 15 seconds. And it's been released again...
  12. Apple Fall does a nicely-detailed wingback chair, which has an 'old leather' option; you could probably tint the cream version to another color as well. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Apple-Fall-Oxford-Wingback-Chair-Solids/15872370
  13. In terms of picture frames, while you won't need it for this room, Fancy Decor does a grouping, including oval frames, for ~$125. The best bit, besides the ability to use your own images, is that the whole group is only 1LI. If you join the Fancy Decor group (~$200, I think), you can then pick up a number of free gifts, including some nicely done photo frames (not wall frames), and the leaning mirror and the leaning group of paintings, which can be useful for filling in a space. Each is only 1LI.
  14. Surrounded by hills, with no visible neighbors, not a one. Heaven. I stayed in my Meadowbrook for ~9 years, this one will surpass that, as long as SL continues to exist.
  15. There are a number of color palette apps and websites; I use Pocket Palette for iPhone. Within the app you can pull in an image/screengrab that you've saved to your camera roll, and then sample it. (This can be a bit imprecise for very small areas .) Each palette you save can include up to 9 colors. Clicking on a saved palette brings up the color block screen I'd posted previously. Basically, shells are duplicate versions of the walls in your house that sit in front of the actual walls by a pixel or two. They can be colored from available choices via an interface that you attach to yourself as a HUD. And some shells are able to accept textures like wallpaper or brick (in other words, they can be MODified beyond the choices given by the shell's creator), giving you more options to personalize your space. (See example below, using a mod paint shell for the Adams trad.) The builders here can provide more technical explanations. (Along with tutorials to make your own!) Just to be clear - as you have the ability to color every wall in a Vic precisely as you want, the only reason to buy/make a paint shell would be to use textures for *wallpaper*. (The trads are limited in the available colors, and one color needs to be used throughout unless you use a shell.)
  16. I'm going to release a Vic *with a driveway* in Pudding at 7:15pm SL time. Gone in less than 5 seconds.
  17. Had a look on IMDB and this screengrab is the only visual reference to the rooms I could see. Do you have a better image? (It's a shame there aren't any mod interior paint shells for Vics, because there are some tremendous wallpapers you would have been able to use.) Here are some colors that I sampled from the image, along with the RGB values you could use as starting points to get precisely the color(s) you want. Edit: Actually, Givoria does make a mod paint shell for the Verne - perhaps one for the Shelley is in the works.
  18. They tend to be long, but some Native American tribal names would maybe be appropriate for the new forested region: Susquehanna, Onondaga, Algonquin, etc.
