scripts will not lag you. they are server side, they have not been client side in ages. when they was, they was rippable. LL closed that loophole with moving them to server side only. so they would not affect the client. Draw distance is a key factor here though, which quite a few people forget about. in a busy sim with 15+ av's and you can see a sim over or 2, guess what. you are drawing both of those sims and the sim you are in plus the avatars. yeah that's a mess. wish they would disable that "see sim next door feature" or make it an option. I run at a draw of 30m when sitting in a busy place. get upwards of 30fps with more then 15 avatars. and rendering costs. yeah it's not been a huge factor towards the client since introduction of mesh. but people want to run with it "omg your rendering costs are lagging me" buzz sorry, not how that works. at all. but eh I'm tired of being here for almost 10 years on my main account and tired of aruging about it.

no they tried this once before with "premium logins" during high loads, that bit them in the ass. they will not do that again.

Hardware is also very important. most lag is people thinking "oh I've got a 980, I can max everything out in a crowded area and should be ok, *YELLING* WHY AM I LAGGING SO BAD* answer, draw distance, shadows, imposters turned down. SL is unoptimized.

did you happen to login to SL and do as they wanted? because they specifically said IM them in world. having bought things through the forum and having learned sellers typically do not respond back to their own postings, so notecard or im them is the best option and basically only option if you want a responce.

imo most lag is client side. the server's themselves very very rarely anymore have any amount of lag. Most of the time it's people who are running VERY old hardware and have bad connections are the very vocal voice that complain about lag. But there is quite a bit to teach SL users in reguards to what makes lag and what does not make lag.

unplanned is unplanned, servers go down, hosts lose connection. with how many "nodes" they have aka servers for the database which contains over 380 peta bytes of assets. you can imagine, one little hiccup and things grid to a halt, when a node goes down a new machine has to spin up and act as a server that takes time. loading current database, configuring it's self to be a read/write machine. so when things go **bleep** up and the asset machine takes a **bleep**, remember it takes time. this is not web hosting.

If most would of been here 2007, they would of had more heart attacks then anything else. the grid would come to stops at times, there were day's and weeks that this was normal. then the maintaince wednesdays, heh 12 hours of waiting and then praying and trying to avoid the grid halts because weekends nobody worked lol. we've come quite along way and since this is a live platform with quite a bit of backend, we have to remember. there is no such thing as 100% uptime. this is not web hosting.

since as I said, ip's change and simulators never stay put on one host (sim4032.lindenlab.com) or how ever they have it layed out now. it's best as you mention to use a proxy. if that fails. hm not sure unless you can find a host that's willing to give you a static ip. so things can be routed without issue.

They want the ip of the incoming ip address, but since that changes with each simulator it would be impossible to give them an ip for what they are wanting.

you paying for hardware? bandwidth? employee's? server space? you do realize most of the money they make that does get turned around and put back into SL right? at these prices they have now, they make a little money and are able to pay for things. but people think "oh they can just drop prices" yeah, let's do that. give it a month and SL will be shutdown.

This is being done so LL is in compliance legally with what is required by federal law and the IRS. I'm sorry you feel this is all an LL doing. If things would of been left up to LL, they would of never enforced much of anything, as in the past as we've seen, that gaming, banks and other forms were very much unregulated and uncontrolled until LL was forced to make the changes nesscary to remain legal and operational. such they are doing the same now.

It's not hte hardware that is the issue, they make good hardware. it's the drivers, they for some reason have never had a good driver set that has worked awesome with SL. will it work sure, but you might experience issues along the way. SL is basically a Nvidia driven stepchild. so with that. go ahead and see how the amd works for you, just adjust adjust adjust until you can get the querks kicked out of it.

twitch just implemented a "copyright" policy on music, vod or l!ve streaming. so if the audio content will match anything that the mpaa has there paws on, it will must the audio, so you would need to find fresh new content instead of people playing "top 40" to people in a club or an event for this to work as you want.

Phished, not hacked. Last time a hacking episode happenend, was in 06 and LL made everybody change their passwords. Phishing has many forms too. so one way or another they got the password and hacking was not involved,

best bet is to run an outside source as with anything as I pointed out would not be legal, because of certain restrictions by law enforcment and other goverment agency's. iwthin SL nothing is private. best to setup an encrypted irc server someplace, behind a vpn and password the server. all I can really think of if you need that true of privacy. in this day and age though, nothing is honestly going to be private.
