  1. I've tried that one and a bunch of others from the land section... the problem appears to be the entire list of land options isn't accepted. ETA: These are the categories tried so far... Land/Parcel Issues Linden Lab owner Parcel Issues Other Land Issues Land Auction Issues All fail the same way, with this message: "Select a valid choice. land is not one of the available choices." and an empty selection box underneath.
  2. I'm trying to ticket more abandoned land in my area, but there's an issue... none of the land ticket options appear to exist anymore. It'll let me select them, but when I submit, I'm told land isn't a valid choice. Does anyone know how we're supposed to ticket old abandoned land now? Anyone had recent success at ticketing land?
  3. Is this is the mainland section because you're thinking of buying a mainland region? That's a little different to private regions. There's no setup fee (other than initial land cost, which is likely to be less) and tiers are lower. But you also don't get the same land management tools and have to search around for a full region for sale. They're not created on demand.
  4. Have you tried returning them via the list? Not the show / return button you've described, but using the list that appears when you hit 'Refresh List'? You could also put autoreturn on, to see if that returns them.

Well, maybe not quite as many as there were at one time, and maybe not exactly how they behaved in their current state of development, and... well, they raise difficult questions that were explored in gory and repetitive detail earlier in this thread. But the Mainland does seem a little less interesting without some activity on the roads and rails. Unless there's been an announcement to the contrary, I don't think they're gone for good. The bus station next to me still has all the bits... it's just the rezzer is turned off. My hope would be they've been deactivated for improvements.
  6. My issue with no-build zones is there's no discretion. In my area, the Chilbo tree reaches up to 300m, so would be banned. There's a solar system floating in the cloud layer on the next sim. That would be banned. The two really ugly builds next to me that reach 250-270m might also be banned, but I'll put up with those in order to keep the tree and the solar system. It's fair to say that a good neighbour should try to make their lower builds look as good as they can. The mid-ranges are best for junky builds like building platforms (I say mid-ranges, because max build height is also often used for pretty public builds). But setting a fixed no-build zone will kill a lot of good stuff along with the bad. It also wouldn't help the original poster... her ugly skybox neighbours are indeed ugly, but they're not in the 300-400m range. The ones I landed on were: 135, 193 and 200. Setting a no-build zone that low would kill many multi-story buildings and anyone putting in a weather system. The real issue isn't height, but that her neighbours haven't considered how ugly the builds look from the outside.
  7. I'm missing something, because to see a skybox that high (300-400m, as per the original post), I have to stand under them and cam straight up. I can't see them wandering around on the ground or looking out the windows of buildings with a few floors. It'd only be a problem if the ground-up build reached 300-400 meters, but a building that tall could be an issue for neighbours in itself. So I'm left wondering if either the shop building is really tall, or the skyboxes are a lot lower than the heights given.

Most of these are full lots of the 512, 1024, and larger size. That was true in the past. When I ticketed land before, it went up for auction. But recently, they've been selling it directly.
  9. It's not unusual to see someone visit the shop, then buy on the marketplace. They want to see it before they buy. Also, some customers favour in-world sales (this might vary on product, but for garden stuff, a fair number prefer to shop in-world). I haven't had any luck with malls. I try new ones every now-and-then, but none of them have made a profit. One of the issues is a mall doesn't give me space to put the products out.
  10. Pussycat Catnap wrote: Actually I find that to be a bad indicator. If you can find lots on a sim for sale at a given price, they're for sale still because they're overpriced... There's one piece in my sim priced at L$ 976.6 per sq meter. Fortunately, no one's taken that price as the area standard, but it shows how out of line with reality prices can be.
  11. I've found a lot of places doing player-run hunts. I also walk up and down the roads on the mainland (I've tried flying across the mainland, but there are too many ban lines once I'm off the road).
  12. The system will be smoother than auctions. I've only seen one auction on my sim that wasn't due to someone ticketing for the land. But a lot of good land is already abandoned, which this system won't help. I hope they do consider applying it to previously abandoned land too. Maybe do it for a small date range of land at a time, so there isn't a sudden glut of every piece of abandoned land coming up for sale.
  13. I usually send tickets rather than ARs, as they get a swifter response and you can check on their progress. It can also help to get a friend with a premium account to ticket as well.
  14. The core of the Chilbo community is general. That's the Chilbo sim itself and the one to the south - Madhupak. It's a mainland community, so there are various galleries, shops, gardens and the like scattered about. This is the town hall: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Chilbo/112/230/121
  15. The Tiny Outpost is a shopping area for tinies with tiny products only. It has a fairytale village feel to it. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Orbiuna/149/80/352 (The landing point may put you on a platform near shops for big people... follow the paths. The Tiny Outpost part has a sign above the entrance).
  16. There's blame on both sides here. You didn't ask before putting the sphere in place. Cube neighbour didn't ask for it to be removed - he put the cube in and waited for you to react. Communication is the most important thing when neighbours have issues, so neither side was a good neighbour in their handling of it. But looking to place the blame means it'll escalate. Someone needs to back down and say sorry. Given that by default, someone's airspace is theirs unless they agree otherwise... cube neighbour is the one who gets to decide if the sphere stays or goes. You could let it happen the hard way by making him AR you, but it wouldn't hurt to show you'd like to smooth things over. If I were you, I'd remove it and apologise. Just a straight and simple, "I'm sorry. I've taken the sphere down." Don't slip in any insults or "sorry, but..."

    AutoReturn

Melita Magic wrote: I just posted on this same problem. Auto return default should be ON in my opinion, at least when people abandon land. I was under the impression (though might be wrong) that this was part of the abandoned land changes in the works - that autoreturn would switch on by default when people abandon. I hope it is, as the current situation is a pain. I had someone dump a landmark giver by my store (LL did clear it up quickly though).
  18. Stopping me from flying doesn't force me to explore. It makes it harder to explore, meaning I'm more likely to leave. As a tiny, I often use fly to deal with things that have been designed for tall avatars. I also use it to get out when I get stuck.

I did not click them, ride them or anything else. All I was doing is standing near them. If you read through the messages here, you'll see a number of us aren't saying we love them or we hate them. We're saying it was fine, but they're getting out of control. I know I'd rather work with you than put in an AR. But it doesn't come across as though you want to work with anyone to fix the problems. Just cutting the numbers in half and looking into why they message bystanders would be a good start.
  20. I liked the vehicles at first, but not so much after the changes. The frequency has gone up dramatically and they spam menus as they pass. In moderation, I think it's a nice idea. Moderation would be a low frequency of vehicles and no automated menus.
  21. I like the stability of the mainland. It's difficult to run a shop when you have to move every year or so, because the private land owners move on to other things. I also like the challenge aspect. When I moved into Mindulle, it had ad squares down the side of the road and the whole thing was terraced poorly. It's taken awhile, but I've managed to get rid of the ad squares and I'm slowly restoring the hill.
