  1. Bare Rose by June Dion is a store that has always been my best friend for genre-specific looks. You'll find lots of Samurai and Samurai-adjacent clothing. That link is for mkp but the in-world store is a sight to behold and I highly recommend going to see it in person. It is one of the Second Life destinations in fashion and accessories.
  2. Not "bad" in my opinion no; as long as they're not talking crap about you and leaving you vulnerable and feeling worse than when you started. As long as the "Friends" ones are lifting you and aiding you in endeavours of self-care and self-confidence. As long as you come away feeling better than when you started. What could be so bad about that
  3. This was fun. And it didn't endow me with six fingers LOL
  4. in 2007 I realized I had a crush on my partner-at-the-time's avatar when he kept insinuating, at the time, that he was going to update his skin and hair to be more current with the trends; and every time he would insinuate such things I would feel crushed inside because I didn't want that face to change even one little bit. And of course, things always must change and creativity breaks through previous successes and one learns to accept, if not adore or more, the new normal. But that 2007 face is still so very tenderly locked away in my emotions Silly as it may sound.
  5. That explains a lot about what I'm experiencing in some regions and not in others. Thank you Wulfie! Useful info.
  6. Greetings! Hopefully this is yields some quick yesses or nos without too much trouble. From the Featured News of March 13, there was a headline in the Creator segment about a 15% reduction to mesh download impact, which states, "Download weight is one parameter used as part of calculating an object’s Land Impact (LI). We will be reducing this by 15%, decreasing the land impact of many mesh assets." Are we there now? Has the land impact of many mesh assets now been decreased? Is that future here now finally?
  7. Interesting question; this is the only official invitation for Residents that I have seen in the forums but it isn't a call to decorate regions. I'm not in the citizens group so I'm not sure if anything went out in that way; hopefully others have more to offer. Personally, I would have thought Region Decoration would be a Mole enterprise.
  8. I'm talking about that too; it's its own kind of violence.
  9. I think Adult content is not the problem, really; and the Content Guidelines allow for it. There is a subculture of particular forms of violence, however, that needs addressing, is all.
  10. The thing that I like about Brad's statement addresses a comprehensive review of Content Guidelines, especially; and that is something that would (if done with a stern rigour) would cut right through the "culture" in question. Though, it is one thing to review and explicate in a document what is permissible; it is another thing altogether to make sure that the content stays out of SL. If that were possible, though, the "culture" in question would sustain a big hit and that would move things forward considerably.
  11. My take on this aspect of the statement is that, while not germane to the explosive article, it is very relevant to what has been reported over and over again when seen in SL, as I personally can attest to. I've seen and reported some hard, awful things* that definitely warrant this kind of intervention. So I'm really glad he raised it.
  12. This wouldn't be such an issue if we had a fair shot even when we used the land page, to get the house that we want. We have five attempts per day to get the one house we want; and what comes up is - more often than not - the same house over and over again, that is not the one we want. If there were a fair variety of houses on the selection page, it would mitigate the sting somewhat. But since the release, I have been trying every day to get even one of a half dozen specific homes; and I watch as they one by one get claimed while I keep getting the same house. The Concierge Support for Premium Plus members was supposed to address this problem. But that was suspended until January 8 for this theme, according to Patch. So, day after day, I keep trying. Same house. Same two or three houses. Meanwhile others are actually submitting tickets for the houses they want and are having those tickets fulfilled. And it's only December 28. Just to be perfectly clear about the problem as I see it. It isn't a refund that I am looking for; it would just be really nice to know why I'm paying extra for a service that "feels" broken to me right now. I guess I will file a ticket.
