  1. Those are merely members of the forum. One of which is ME.
  2. I saw early on that you did not want solutions other then outing alts. Wouldn't have made a hill of beans if i have offered solutions or not, YOU wanted what YOU wanted and that was that. Have a wonderful SL
  3. You have been told what you can do. 1) Don't go back to the club or 2) Don't tip. Trying to figure out a solution to YOUR problem is that YOU demand people give up their anonymity just so YOU can know who is who. No one else cares if they are tipping one person or two as long as they are providing the service they were hired to do. But, for some reason YOU want people to out their alts just so YOU can decide whether to tip someone or not. Sounds like a personal problem to me. Just enjoy SL and have fun.
  4. Teagan Tobias wrote: Another thought crossed my mind, what if by tipping the DJ and the Host, both the same person, that RL person was able to put food on the dinner table that night for there family. Hard times are real. Just a thought. Good thought, Teagan but she's just going to turn it around and say that you should reveal that you are an alt, because it's HER business that she know. *sighs* some people....

It is not superior ethics. You said that not tipping is not an option for you, but you only want to tip certain avatars and so those avatars should disclose everything you need to see if they conform to your criteria. People give you the information you need to decide if they fit the criteria - or they don't, you tip or not based on if they prove they fit your criteria. If they choose to not give you the information you want then all you can do is not tip.. There is no other choice. BTW saying 'I guess" didn't negate the fact that you wanted other readers to consider that those that disagree with you are DJ's doing the same thing and implying that their opinions should be discounted. You made the assumption that I wanted others to discount differing opinions. That is not the case. A discussion needs BOTH sides of the argument to have any merit at all. It is NOT about being right or wrong. And yes Not tipping is not something I would ever do if I stay and enjoy a club and the build. I will tip a DJ requardless. The only information I am asking for is tell me if you are asking me to tip an ALT. Why is that so difficult? I do not care if you are man or woman or what your other alts are or if you work under different DJ names..... just tell me if I am tipping an ALT. and also tipping you as the DJ. That is not personal information that will harm you. Right? If you are afraid people will not tip your ALT if they knew it was your ALT then maybe you should ask yourself why that is the case. Maybe that isn't a concern. But when money is involved, I think it is a fair request. AM I tipping your ALT ? Then with the information I can decide how much I want to tip, if at all. Sounds reasonable to me. My mother taught me this when teaching me Ehtics. If you lie about small things, you will lie about big things. And yes, I do not leave my personal ethics behind when I enter SL. just because I am anonymous. And no, I do not impose my ethics on you. Just like RL, the Community sets the standards. That is why we discuss things in a Civil manner. Yes, yes, yes I KNOW I said I would not enter this discussion again but the more I read the more pissed off I get. Again, I have highlighted the part I want to comment on. Even IF I had an alt, I sure as hell would not tell YOU or anybody else I am an alt. The TOS states that no one has the right to find that out about anyone's alt in SL. It's no one's business but mine IF I choose to have an alt (and I don't) and work that alt in a club. IF LL decided to add that to the TOS that ALL avi's must disclose they have alts and to name them, then I and I think many others would leave SL before disclosing such information. This is a matter of right to privacy. What I chose to do in SL is my business and LL's not anyone else's and certainly not YOURS. As has been stated before, if you don't like the club, don't go back, in fact, don't go to any clubs because I can promise you that some of those people that work there are in fact, alts. Doesn't matter if they are doing two jobs at once or not. NO ONE has the right to demand they reveal that to anyone. And now, hopefully I WON'T be back and maybe I should just stop notifications of this thread, period. I do hope you will be back and not be angered at the discussion but offer your point of view on the topic. Please note I am only advocating that an ALT in a BUSINESS/Club setting reveal that it is an ALT asking for L$ tips. I am not asking for other personal info. That is entirely different. Please keep your private ALTS and enjoy them. I am only concerned when L$ are changing hands. It doesn't matter! IF I have an alt that I use for working at one club and an alt for another club, what difference does it make?? I am doing two separate jobs, for criminy sakes! And as I stated before, IT'S NO ONE'S BUSINESS IF I USE AN ALT FOR WORK OR NOT! Don't like it? Don't tip and don't come back to the club! Or better yet, AvaFord, leave SL and find another place to push your own set of ethics and morals on people.

There would only be 50 people left after that! LOL! I would have to agree with you on that, Mickey.

  8. Hi Eric, sorry but I just went inworld to check the perms of my LaGalleria stuff, it is copyable but not transfer, at least that's what it says when i pulled it out of my inventory. If you would like to IM me inworld, I can try to send you something to see if it is trans, if it is, then we can talk price. Let me know. Heart

  10. EvaFord wrote: That was not meant personally to you. If you are reading the thread I HAVE angered some people and I am GUESSING that they MIGHT BE DJ's with ALTS. This is in no way meant as an accusation. I am sorry you are offended. Have you? I've not seen one response that suggests anger at all. And yes I have read every one of the responses. I NEVER get offended when someone spouts inane banter. I get offended with someone comes in and presumes they have the right to impose THEIR beliefs on me. Ethical or not it all comes down to the right of every person to come into SL and do whatever they like as long as it does not violate the TOS. And a business owner has the right to take my money under false pretenses? Our to present that I am being served by two people when in fact I am being served by only one? Interesting. And I can never understand how people can tolerate scamming and stealing intelectual property just because it is a virtual world and they can. Without morals and ethics you have no social order. The difficult is defining them so that they work for the good of all. So now being a DJ is intellectual property? I think you are confusing two issues. IF someone is selling me a dress, that was ripped off from someone else then yes that is wrong, but to equate that with a DJ that might or might not be using an alt to host AND DJ are like comparing apples and oranges. You can't. Also SL is NOT Real Life, the only laws we are to obey is what LL has put down in the TOS and nothing more. IF you feel YOU are being ripped off, don't go back to that club. I have no desire, nor do I care if the DJ and host are one in the same and from Mars. IF they are doing their job, then I will tip them both. They are harming no one. And I seem to be going round and round with you on this, so end of discussion and I will NOT respond any further. Have a wonderful SL. Edit to fix a misspelling
  11. EvaFord wrote: I find that an anonymous avatar representing as if they are giving legal advice, is much more threatening to the " I find the "attorney" ploy much more menacing than a multi-tasking DJ that does not "require" a payment for services. What in the world are you talkiing about ? Guess I have angered a lot of DJ's who are using alts . But no not giving out free legal advise. Not my intension or field. Sorry if I gave that impression. Maybe a better way to state it is that our community should be interested in all the fast changes in Computer Law and cyber crime. I have bolded what I want to comment on. Personally, I AM NOT a DJ, nor do I have any alts, in the 4+ years I have been on SL, I see no need to have more than one, and it seems that once again YOU have made accusations that cannot be proven UNLESS someone from this discussion says otherwise. And as was pointed out. What difference does it make to you anyway? If it's one or two people, IF they are capable of doing both and suceeding, what do YOU care? ethical or not it all comes down to the right of every person to come into SL and do whatever they like as long as it does not violate the TOS. I can never understand why people want to impose their ethical, religious, rightous morals onto others, just because they think they can. It's insane. *shakes her head and walks out of the room*
  12. Dillon Levenque wrote: Well, let me help: In my case I guess you pinched the "BS" nerve, as in, this is BS. Right from the start I thought you were on some kind of mission and nothing you've said since has changed that opinion; quite the opposite. The only honest way you could KNOW that your DJ and his Hostess are one and the same is if he gave you his login credentials (a TOS violation, so hopefully he didn't do that) and you personally logged in as both avatars, thus confirming that the DJ can control both avatars. Anything else acquired honestly, including the DJ himself publicly announcing that the Hostess is his alt, doesn't leave you KNOWing anything. You've ducked, you've dodged, you've chuckled knowingly. It's been pointed out to you time and time again that even if exactly what you describe is happening really is happening, it is not only not a TOS violation but not even that big a deal ethically. You are grinding that axe so hard it won't be long before you get all the way down to the handle. Watch for sawdust. ^^THIS^^
  13. Judgemental? there was nothing judgemental in anythiing I said, EvaFord, merely stating facts and if YOU don't like the way things are in SL then there is this little red x in the upper right hand corner, click it and move on with your RL. End of discussion.
  14. First and foremost, thank you so much for the Saturday afternoon chuckle. Secondly, I am in the legal field in RL and I know that a DJ in SL is NOT a "public figure" as you so want to keep pointing out. Thirdly, the ONLY way you could know that this person is supposedly an alt is 1) You hacked into LL records and looked him up...but....if YOU did this, then you have violated the law and could go to jail in RL for this. 2) You are using some sort of an alt detector like redzone use to sell which AGAIN is illegal and you COULD and WOULD get banned from SL and possibly face jail time in RL. Either way you, my friend, are screwed. IF all you have is a chat log, which I might add, could have easily been altered by yourself then by all means go ahead and report them. Can't say that LL would do anything BUT if you DID put it in your profile, be prepared to be AR'd by the person you are targeting. Which again, could get you banned from SL. Your choice. Leave the drama for your momma and move on or continue to stir the pot and suffer the consequences. Just my 2L's. edit to correct a misspelled word.
  15. I used to have a memory pick for her but eventually I deleted it, it was just too hard to look at my profile and see it there. It's been almost 2 years since she passed and I still cry almost everyday, even though we never met in person, she was my sister, my friend and my confidant. I did keep the pick on a notecard and her picture too, so whenever I need to read it and look at her beautiful face I pull it out and remember all the wonderful times we had. I do understand your pain, Czari and here's a huge hug for you and everyone who has loved and lost someone in SL. Just be grateful for the memories and the times you did have with her.
  16. I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face after reading your post and I cannot tell you how much it touched my heart. I had a very good friend in SL, we talked everyday, and became like sisters. She had a lot of medical problems and SL was her escape from the pain. And then one day, she wasn't there and I recieved a message from her on Skype saying she was in the hospital and was going to have a routine surgery...she never woke up...she left behind a daughter in RL and a husband in SL. SL has never been the same for me. I still have her on my friend's list and everyday I think about her and how much I miss her. So, I DO NOT take anyone I meet on SL for granted. I treasure everyone of my friends and make sure they know just how much I do care. Never forget that behind that avatar is a real, breathing human being who feels and hurts just like you do. Thank you, Theresa.
  17. So click the little red x in the upper right hand corner and move on. HTH.
  18. How can I find out exactly how much bandwidth I use? Thanks in Advance.
  19. Psssttt....IF you know you're crazy then chances are you aren't, it's the ones that say they AREN'T crazy that you have to watch out for. *grins*
  20. Exactly what I was thinking, Charolotte! So, it HAS to be true, they even did a commerical about it! *grins*
  21. You know you CANNOT put anything on the internet that isn't true, right Charolotte? *grins* AND, I heard that on the internet, so it HAS to be true, right??
  22. Wow, just Wow! I have a VERY active RL. My RL job is in the legal field. My social life is moderate. I am far from unattractive. I come to SL to relieve the stress and pressures of RL. I go to clubs, shop, dance, and meet a lot of people, in all of the 4+ years I have been here I have NEVER met anyone that I would consider mentally unstable. Obviously, the people who wrote that description never stayed in SL long enough to find the hidden gems that can be found all over the grid. They visited an adult SIM and surmissed that THAT is what SL is really about. Is SL an escape? Sure it is, we all need an escape from time to time, it makes us better people in the long run. I suggest that if YOU think everyone in SL is mentally unstable, the solution is clear, just hit the little red X in the upper right hand corner and walk away from the computer. Just my 2 lindens.
