  1. So I'm pretty happy with where Donovan is at right now, so today I decided to go with some budget upgrades for my original avatar, who spends most of his time hanging around my parcel acting as a very annoying chatbot for my friends. He's been neglected for so many years, falling into disuse after Donovan became my primary and had all the friends, all the neat stuff, all the newer items, etc. I figured the least I could do was clean him up a bit. And while I was at it, I went with a slightly different style, because why not? I went with a basic Catwa head (Justin) with a blink add-on. No need for Bento price for an alt. 7DS for the skin, and Nardcotix for the mesh body (inexpensive option that included hands/feet), and Stealthic for the hair. Also grabbed a little mesh beard add-on somewhere because I never do facial hair with Donovan.
  2. As one of your fans, my answer is probably biased. But yes, I do.
  3. My biggest disappointment with SL from a technical standpoint would be region crossings. I know it's an insanely complex problem, and honestly SL handles them as well as it can when you consider what's involved, but I can't help wishing they were better. They make travel through the open world difficult, if not dangerous (in terms of disconnects, detaching vehicles, etc). My biggest disappointment overall, though, would be that I've lost touch with some really good people over the years, and I wish I'd taken the time back then to get some sort of RL contact info from them. I miss them, and I hope they're doing well, and it's hard not knowing if they are.
  4. Recently, a very special woman in my Second Life said those words that so many men need to hear, even if they are too proud to admit it. "Babe...stop wearing 'dad' jeans." Now I don't know if I'm a strong enough man to keep those dad jeans in the closet forever. But for her...at least for today...I will try.
  5. Those are both great shots, especially that second one You picked a really great background for it, too.
  6. Words like "wow" and "amazing" and "oh my god that's incredible" just don't seem to do it justice. Fantastic job, I love your sense of style. And I also love the shirt! Space Invaders was always a favorite of mine growing up.
  7. Visiting a friend's new tavern/racetrack this morning.
  8. Technically this is from late last night, after I finished up everything around the house in RL and logged in finally. Spent a great evening relaxing with my friend Kelly, who originally introduced me to SL. She recently came back after being away for probably a year or more, and this was the first chance we had to really just sit and catch up on a lot of things. We met pre-SL, around 2003 or so, playing online in the old Neverwinter Nights PC game (D&D nerds unite!) I frequently find myself pausing to be thankful for the people in my life, both online and off. This was one of those moments. I've been fascinated with the internet since I first got online in the mid-90s, with its potential to help people connect across great distances. That fascination has never worn off or lessened in anyway. It's why I still try to find time to go into these virtual worlds, now that I'm a responsible adult with a job and a family in RL. On a side note: this picture was taken at Viggen Petofi's beautiful Italian village of Ciampi. It's one of my favorite places to visit, and it's at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bhima/71/86/38
  9. The only problem is, at the end of the date, they don't remember going out with you.
  10. The coffee finally kicked in, so it's time to hit the road.
  11. Today he looks a bit lazy. I don't blame him. I didn't feel like going out today either.
  12. At this point I think saying "good job, Skell!" is like saying "Water is wet!" or "Region crossings are a risky proposition!"
  13. I love how you're using all the color variations for that hair I've tipped off a few of my friends to it already, they're loving it.
  14. Aw man, I knew those Legendary Quaggan Boxers were too good to be true And I'd almost collected the 10,000 Globs of Globby Gloop.
  15. I work in IT, and I see stuff like this on a regular basis. I got a few of these messages and recognized right away they were fakes, but given how successful that sort of information warfare is in general society (and how easily people are fooled), I'm sure it's a pain to deal with.
  16. Yeah, it's modeled after the Miata. Good choice really.
  17. Took a drive around Circuit la Corse, stopped for a break at one of the local garages along the route. This car (from the 2017 Mainland Rally over the summer) is one of the best I've seen for everyday driving in SL, and it's fun to just zip around the continents in it (region crossings and all).
  18. Alright - today, something without jeans and a t-shirt
  19. I should note that in most of my pictures I'm not really avoiding the previously-mentioned "jeans and t-shirt" trend. My wardrobe updates haven't really reached that far yet.
  20. I've been thinking about picking up the Type-962 Prototype from Manji Automotive Factory for some time now. Today I finally broke down and made the purchase. And I'm glad I did, it's a fantastic car. Took it on a quick shakedown run around Rt. 11 in Corisca, since that's where my home parcel is. Hope the neighbors didn't mind the noise. But my av looked pretty pleased.
