  1. Looks are one thing but what about functionality? I can point to some serious shortcomings on that point. Like the ability to go to the first unread post in a thread. Or where to host pictures for use here? Have failed with photobucket and tinypic but I did succeed by ripping a URL off of someone else's web site. For however buggy Lithium may have been it also had some extremely useful features.
  2. Playing around here with this.... So we can "link" photos from other websites. Actually that is a sucky thing if we don't own the website and what will happen when someone has their website coded to replace the picture with some choice porn?
  3. I tried several variations from tinypic.com with no success. Using Firefox.
  4. OK, how did you get a picture inserted? Several of us have not been able to yet.
  5. It's just going to be something else for people who don't like our answers to harp about Your Majesty.
  6. Oh, and Pam, do I need to bow before your Supreme Majesty!?!
  7. No pictures is an ultra major shortcoming. I see an option to "Insert Other Media/Insert image from URL" but I have not been able to get it to work. Pictures are a major must for asking and answering questions, etc.
  8. So now we not only have "rank" but we have reputation also. Wonder how this works. http://tinypic.com/r/vpwacp/9

The Governance team is the ones who will be able to properly investigate this matter and the only way to ensure they get the report, in a timely manner is by sending in an Abuse Report. Just make sure you include all the information you possibly can in the report. I can assure you that the Governance team does infact review every single report that they get, so please always make sure you are filing an abuse report. Submitting a support case, or contacting via other means may actually cause the problem to take longer to be resolved. ....... ~Tommy Linden It just seems to be a mixed bag. I know they have to triage things but there sometimes appears to be no consistency to the response time. Twice due to a neighbor who left his land wide open we had griefer attacks on our Mainland SIM and both times they were cleaned up within a couple of hours. But I also have seen it take three weeks to get some pornographic griefer cubes cleaned up despite multiple AR's One time, after watching griefer cubes next to the governor's mansion for three days I finally left a comment on Torley's feed about how embarassing it was to take new person there. He didn't reply to my comment but two hours later it was cleaned up.
  10. You are right, there are a lot of empty Sims. But that doesn't mean that their are not things to do. There is a lot to do. But you limit yourself by treating SL as just a game. Amoung other things, a primary thing I am here for is to socialize. And over the years I have developed frienships to the point that we know who each other are in first life. We get together and do things together in SL. Whether it be clubbing, listening to live music together, exploring builds in one of the Linden Endowment for the Arts Sims, etc, we find plenty to do. We go sailing, we fly planes and helicopters. Sometimes we just sit around and chat. So while it is true that concurency is down from when I first started, SL is still very alive and vital to me and my friends.
  11. I missed when it got juicy......all I saw was "deleted, deleted, deleted." But because the OP had asked about Creative Commons I'm posting two more links. Have to do two because for some reason they left CC0 off of the first. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/ https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/public-domain/cc0/

I haven't read the details but of course it's a give-and-take deal both parties thought would benefit them at the time they agreed on it. Now the current US authorities don't think it's a good deal for them and they want to renegotiate or cancel it. That raises the first two of several questions: Which other agreements do the current US leadership want to run away from? Can other nations trust them at all? Which state leader wants to have a one-on-one talk with Trump knowing that he's likely to tweet details about the chat the next day? If this is the start of a new US immigration regime, where is it going to end? <snip> I've been through a half dozen articles now and can't find anything about a swap or a give and take. Just simply that we'd take some of these refugees. If there is some kind of swap I'd appreciate if someone can point me to it. As far as Thump's Tweet goes, I think he meant it as a knee jerk jab at Obama. But it does have the appearance of calling the Prime Minister an idiot. And for the record, I do believe in tough imigration rules. But I don't support what Thump is doing with his executive order.

I dislike companies taking political or religious stands because then being a patron is supporting their beliefs. Why! Both sides dot this. Time to take a hiatus from sl. If it makes you feel better, their worry about the new immigration policy is not just based on idealism, although I'm sure it's that too. A temporary block against refugees from a few specified countries isn't going to hurt the US IT industry in any way but add the infamous phone call with the Australian prime minister and various Trump statements over the last few years and suddenly you have a trend that is seriously dangerous to their business. Edit: This article may illustrate the problems Silicon Valley fears. I am wondering if the White House contacted Prime Minister Thimble first before annoucing in the press conference they would go ahead and honor the agreement to take the refugees. Or did they figure he'd find out on the Eleven O'clock News? Prime Minister Turnbull, not Thimble And I understood it to be a refugee swap deal. If it isn't a swap, why should America do it? I agree that it would be 'dumb'. - Another Aussie friend I don't know where you are getting the idea that it was some sort of swap. And as far as "why," sometimes we do things for humanitarian reasons. Is there something wrong with that? Oh, and I figure that someone will get my joke about Prime Minister Gumball. ETA: I absolutely love Oz. I'd love to move to Oz. Somewhere around Byron Bay or Gold Coast. Or up in the Scenic Rim. They are all awesome.

Then Charlar left. And that was the end of documentation. All we have are forum posts. And since forum posts are our only documentation for some very complicated things, and LL feels no need to change that, wouldn't it be nice if the forums were not so broken and unwieldy ? They are not just for documentation, either, but provide a huge amount of customer support, for free. But you would think the forums are for nothing but chit chat. Perrie Juran wrote: Good documentation would be against the Tao of Linden. Some meeting areas have this set to 60 and higher.)Recent server performance improvements make regions with 60 agents in them perform quite well. Homestead: 20 Openspace: 10 http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits We do need to remember that how a Server performs and how a Viewer performs can be two very diferent things.
