  1. Today a female customer turned up to my G rated sim/shop fully naked. She came over to me just to chat - saying how much she likes the shop. When I told her she was naked she was so embarrassed and tped out immediately. My partner said she was out there for quite a while shopping among other customers. This really is a very sensitive problem that should be fixed as a matter of urgency. I'm thinking now, I have to go out to customer's homes to give support quite often. How would I know that I'm not showing up fully naked? They might not tell me, but I'd probably lose that customer for any future business..
  2. Thanks Brooke, I'll be looking forward to the re-release. Mickey, you and I will just have to be patient about utilising this Fantastic Tool :smileywink:
  3. I'm not sure how long ago these new categories were created. Under boats there are now sailboats, rowboats, motorboats. All my boats could have been delisted if I hadn't noticed (please don't do this anyone. I intend to fix it over the weekend.) After sorting my store items, now this. It never ends :smileysad:. My point is, it would be good if such changes were announced. I think I keep my eyes open for news but if this was announced anywhere I missed it. Edit: YAY for the bulk edit tool. It's done so you can take your finger off that flag button :smileytongue:
  4. Phil Deakins wrote: So LL didn't implement the 10L per month per item listing fee that they originally announced? I'm amazed. It's not like them to turn their back on getting more money out of their users, but maybe they did some sums and decided they'd potentially make more money without it. Or maybe they listened. Is that so hard to believe?
  5. Ok well, this is working for me. I'm not one of the people who asked for this, but I do like it, and maybe there are many others who do too. I can't be the only one who likes it. Brooke, I hope you don't take it away completely. At least leave it as an option. I rarranged all my items the way I want customers visiting my store to see them. It looks great now. And I'd like to keep it that way. Based on this thread, it would seem the best thing for the Commerce Team to do is change nothing, because there will always be people who will hate the changes, and they will shout the loudest. I'm not saying that this is perfect, but changes will never please everyone. Ratings and reviews - there's a perfect example - . Don't touch it no matter how loud some people may shout about the short falls. Because there will be even louder shouts after the change.
  6. JustinMichael Torok wrote: The ability to set one of the "Sort by.." options as default would have been nice, too. I agree with this. Let people choose if they want to use this new feature. Although I love it, people with large inventories will find it a nightmare. A choice of default - best selling, newest first or the option to create your own order would be much better. I don't know why the relevance order has been thrown so out of order as a result of this. People will find this painful to set up so quickly.
  7. Arwen, you don't have to sort all your items. Just do the first 20 or 50, and leave the rest for when you have more time. It's very useful if you start thinking about how you can arrange things. I've batched all my similar items together. All sailboats are now following each other on the same pages, then comes the rowboats, followed by motorboats, offsim islands, furniture etc. It makes it much easier for customers to browse my store than when items were all over the place. My first page shows the 12 items I am proudest of, my top sellers and also it gives a good representation of my creations.
  8. I've sorted my 83 items without a hitch. It's a great new tool. Thanks again Brooke, Kyle and all the team
  9. Thank you, Brooke Yes, once we all get this sorted out and the way we like it, with a bit of effort, it will work much better than relevance showing top sellers. Relevance will be the way the store owner sees it, which is appropriate.
  10. Mina Firefly wrote: my product has been delisted for good now...again wrong catagory...while similar products are under exact the same catagory. What am i suposed to put "amaretto eye signs by mina firefly" under? (if i can't put them under animals - horses , like other do) This issue needs to be fixed soon...cause i need to pay tier and i'm sick and tired of spending rl cash on my tier cause i'm broke in-game ! Here are 2 categories that seem to be used more commonly - Business » Business Signs Building Components » Signs
  11. Dora Gustafson wrote: My advise would be: do not give your items away for free! Even a small price of L$1 would filter out all those who buy it just because it is free and don't care about what they are buying. Forget about moderating the reviews and ratings:smileyvery-happy: In my experience this is true. Freebies seem to attract more 1 star ratings than any other product I've sold. I increased the price of my freebies for this very reason, and at L$10 the negative ratings stopped.
  12. I don't think category makes much difference to how well an item sells. My top selling item got flagged the other day. Dakota helped me find the right category :smileyhappy: thanks Dakota. The category was changed from 'other structures' to 'bridges and walkways'. This change in category had no impact on the constant rate of sales this item gets.
  13. Sonya Bigboots wrote: Sorry Rya, but that gross generalisation was uncalled for. There is a world of difference between somebody making a mistake once, and someone who habitually lists everything as general without even thinking about a maturity rating. It is being de-listed without being told why in detail that annoys people. That's not being lazy - that's wanting the information you need to not repeat the same mistake again. I am sure the people at Linden Labs are smart enough to realise they need to encourage and empower creators, because it is the user-created content that is SL's unique selling point. It isn't really my views. I'm quite neutral to the whole thing. And maybe lazy isn't the right word. But as I remember it, the response Dakota Linden gives when asked if LL can just fix the errors is pretty much as I said it.
  14. Sonya Bigboots wrote: Wouldn't it make more sense to simply change an items to adult content rather than delisting it, notify the creator of the change in rating, and give them chance to appeal if they thought the decision was unjust? Dakota will tell you this herself as she has done many times before, and maybe she's getting sick of it or is looking for where she stored her long explanation so that she can copy paste it here. But here is the gist of it - No, they won't do this because if they did then you would never learn. It's your responsibility. LL won't take the responsibility to amend listings. Read the TOS, it clearly states that LL will remove your listing if you do not place it in the correct category, and if you don't know how to do that then you must learn or suffer the consequences of being delisted. If LL helped you all the time then you and other merchants like you would only become lazier and lazier.
  15. The easiest way to get over it isn't trying to control your emotions by talking yourself into not caring, the way Tari has done or is trying to do. It's almost impossible. The easiest way to get over it is to make it go away. Good girl! Now carry on and be happy :smileyhappy:
  16. The 'Assistant' feature is still to come. I work in a partnership too, and we have 2 storefronts with the same name, which is not an ideal situation. We want one store for both of us, but I doubt we'll ever see this. We asked for this at the very first merchants office hour, and it was put on the list, but I think somebody quietly crossed it off since then :matte-motes-angry:.. I wish they'd realise how many people work in partnerships, and how much better creativity and quality is achieved through partnerships.
  17. Great idea! Let's just hope that there isn't an automatic migration from magic box to our inventory for Direct Delivery. I'm thinking it would have to be manual, but not sure how it will work.
  18. I don't think they are going to spend too much time fixing it. Maybe a quick patch here and there is all they will attempt at this stage. They will be concentrating almost entirely on DD from here on. My message was more directed at merchants who refuse to accept any responsiblity for a failed sale because the fault is in the marketplace. The marketplace is a tool. If the tool you use to sell your products is faulty you don't tell your customers that it isn't your fault, and to go take the problem to the maker of the tool. Many merchants have this attitude and that is what my post was aimed at.
  19. I usually use Chrome, but now for the Marketplace I have to use Firefox - reinstalled it just for this purpose. Chrome gives a white screen although it's like the page has downloaded. I've had this issue for almost a week, and it is constant not random. Everything else works in Chrome except Marketplace.
  20. The best fun I had in SL as a newbie was when I bought my first little island. I spent almost all my time terraforming and building. Now I have 3 sims of shop to do this in, and I still enjoy it just as much, and the tier is covered and I get paid for doing it.:smileyvery-happy: What were we talking about? Oh yes, inworld shops. Listing in the marketplace is a tedious task, all the rest is fun. I build for fun, I display items on my sims for fun, I terraform and bring my imagination to life for fun, and when people appreciate it then that is topping on the cake. Many of my items are not listed in the marketplace, because it's always on my list of boring tasks that I never get around to doing. So I have an inworld shop because that is my SL.
  21. For anyone finding it very difficult to put up with the Marketplace delivery issues, here is the solution: 1. Go to Manage Inventory 2. Find the tick box to the left of name 3. tick to select all items 4. now click Unlist Your problems are now solved!
  22. Gismo Rhode wrote: @zanara ... you have list small pieces and all in copy mode ... i have list 600 boxes and all in transfer mode (my buyers like this to give es gifts to other) - i can not check 'whats up' with delivered boxes ... and all my boxes + vendor graphics to set new as copy is a 4 weeks **bleep** job .... Gismo, you are aware that the marketplace is having delivery issues. It is your choice to use the marketplace to sell your items, therefore if a customer complains that your chosen method of selling is not working it is your responsiblity to fix it for the customer. Even if your items are transfer, all this means is that maybe the customer will end up getting 2 for the price of one. You can live with this. If you can't live with it don't use the marketplace to sell. Again, it is your choice.
  23. Steph Catseye wrote: based on the low percentage of reviews 1 single bad review can impact your business and decides if you sell this item 5 times a day or zero times This has always been my concern as well. Many of my newer items don't have any reviews, and it is always possible for someone to give it a low rating, which could have a huge impact on future sales. It is very unfair, especially when some items take so much time and effort to create. This might be against the rules, but if it happened to me I would just quietly delete the listing and relist it - stuff the rules. If the rules are unfair then I'll break them.
  24. Yeah, what's so great about convenience? Why do people have to change things that work perfectly well just for convenience? Lets take that stupid invention, the remote control - what was so difficult about getting up and walking over to change the channel? Who needs mobile (cell) phones when you've got the good old payphone? And talking about phones, why did they remove the cord that attached the receiver to the base? And WIFI internet, oh please - stupidest idea ever. What is so hard about cables? I don't know why the world has such an addiction to changing things for the sake of convenience, but it happens all the time.
  25. Darrius Gothly wrote: Makes sense .. and that is one of the "Magic" things in SL .. taking a giant sim-sized build and squishing it down into a tiny box small enough to fit inside another box. Thinking of the "now" situation, have you thought about putting separate magic boxes on each Sim? That way you'd be on the same Sim as the items being sold at least .. and you could reduce the inventory in your Magic Box by 2/3rds. It doesn't sound like you're having any delivery issues (at least none I remember seeing you mention) but it's one of those "no pain" optimizations that would shorten your trips and add a layer of organization that might be beneficial. Now wouldn't it be really cool if I could just carry that magic box around with me? :smileywink:
