  1. But, that doesn't include you? 🤫...because reputation and kudos and all that is just about vanity really, isn't it? Maybe it's good it's gone. I can say so because as you can see, I don't post for good opinions, just say what I think and don't care what others think about it. I mean isn't it just a case of you gvie me kudos and I'll give you some back. A popularity contest, really. It's is a bit childish. Why is it so important to people to know what others think of them? It comes from insecurity.
  2. Maybe I missed it but did you mention physics models? It has a significant impact on LI. I use a triangle for my plants, which are phantom so it doesn't need a physical shape.
  3. As an X-Street veteran myself I remember why they had that rule. X-Street was independent of SL, and the rule was there to stop people using X-Street as an advertising platform. X-Street's only income was through the 5% sales commission, and they'd lose this if people said 'go buy inworld for a discount price', hence using the website to simply advertise the product to get inworld sales. That was the reason for the rule. Whereas SL owns everything now, so they don't really miss out on revenue through inworld sales as they get tier for land and the fees for cash out etc. It took a long long time for them realise this rule shouldn't apply anymore, and finally it was taken out of the Terms.
  4. Hi @Tikuf Arun why don't you fill out a DMCA to have the other listings removed. It would make everyone happy, as others also seem to be upset about it, reading the reviews. It's a simple case of filling in the form here https://dmca.lindenlab.com/
  5. When you upload your object, choose your physics, then under 'convert to hulls' choose solid. There you go, rez away 😀 Also, I'm not sure what you did to swap the axis but if you haven't done this yet,go to maya ->windows-> settings and preferences ->preferences->settings-> z axis up. Also go to file export selection box -> Edit preference -> Axis conversion -> up axis Z
  6. Hi ChinRey, I've found this as well with my box hedges. I have them in two different sizes, small and medium. I tried to make a larger, longer hedge by joining the two mediums, and deleting the extra triangles (leaves) but it always has a higher LI when I upload it than the two medium hedges linked inworld. The LOD is a single box of 10 triangles (no bottom), and then just 4 triangles for the lower LODs. The two medium hedges linked inworld has many more triangles (all those unused leaves where the two hedges are joined) compared to the large single hedge. I don't remember the exact difference in LI but I think it's 3 for the two medium hedges and 5 for the single large. So yes, linking objects inworld is often better for LI, but it doesn't make sense.
  7. In every meeting we are reminded, on posters, mindfulness workshops, and individual councelling by management and HR. The mindfulness workshops, in particular, helped, and people I never got along with joined the mindfulness group, and they calmed down. It indicated to me that these people didn't like the situation either. People behave in certain ways for a reason. It's internal and they take it out on the world around them. Once this is realised then change is possible, not before.
  8. But it doesn't have to be that way. People shouldn't need thick skins, which is just armour for protection. People can change. We can become better, by just being made aware that it's not ok to be uncivil. It's not acceptable. I know it works, because as I have mentioned before, my workplace changed from a very toxic environment to one where everyone is polite - just because people were constantly reminded about our core value - respect. And here is the thing, everyone prefers it. People are generally kind, but have to be forced to build up an armour, and be on the defensive. If someone is rude it's because they're trying to protect themselves - and so it goes. It triggered somenthing, and so we react. Next time you roll your eyes back and start typing a rude response - stop and think why did that trigger me? Edit: Sorry Tari, this isn't really aimed at your post, just the whole thread really. I didn't read your whole post. I will now though
  9. IM and send a notecard to the creator or seller. When I get a response I'll buy the item.
  10. When you purchase a full perm item you are NOT purchasing the right to resell it, unless the creator/seller gives you that permission. Usually this will be in the form of a TOS notecard, and usually this will say you may resell it in a very modified form, which means you need to create your own item from it. For example, you buy full perm buttons, you put it on your shirt and then you can sell the shirt with the buttons, and only copy mod or transfer, not full perm. These are the usual rules. And here is the biggest rule - if you don't know then the right thing to do is to ask the creator/seller, and never assume that if no rules are supplied then it's free to do what you want.
  11. Merchants do have to do work to create the items they sell on the marketplace, and then they get that money after fees are paid to the marktetplace. Hope that helps.
  12. those nagging thoughts - Being told I should get out more, and thinking maybe I should Worrying about not getting enough exercise, so now I have an excuse Feeling guilty about staying up all night and sleeping half the day away, and spending way too much time in SL
  13. and I hope people get my underlying message here - that the Lindex is not so easily spooked!!! Without intervention it stays stable, like it did for those several years. Nothing spooked it then either.
  14. Not spooked by the virus to cause it to go ballistic, unlike other unknown things that we debate about, so thank you to everyone for staying calm. But Ebbe did indicate that he expected the rate to stabilise and he was right! No virus is going to change that.
  15. A 3 year old friend told me she found it through YouTube.
  16. Consider the full perm market, which is a huge business on MP and inworld. Without these restrictions anyone could buy these full perm items and then sell them as is at a lower price, hence competing with the full perm seller. It is important that the restrictions are clear in the description, however most people in SL would be aware that full perm items come with restrictions. Otherwise, the full perm seller could potentially be just selling their entire business over and over again, with people selling with a race to the bottom. Finally the full perm seller would have to just give up. That's not a very good business model at all. The DMCA notices do help here, and thank goodness because without them there would be no full perm sellers on the market, except perhaps the very generous who don't care how things turn out. The full perm market is a very useful resource for builders, and one not many people would want to do without, I'm sure. So, here is an example of how very important the EULA is, and the consequences of not having it and the DMCA.
  17. OK, If I said to my son 'you never answer me when I talk to you! ☹️', he isn't going to say 'yes I do! Remember last week when you asked me if I wanted that last piece of pizza, I said yeah! 😋.
  18. Your logic is flawed. I stopped reading after this line because of it. You are basing the value of the L$ on the U.S. $ and that is not what I am buying; when I am spending U.S. $ to buy Linden $ then the more Linden $ I get per $1 U.S., then that is a higher value of that $1 U.S. I stopped struggling to understand what you were trying to say after this line Because I think you misunderstood what Dima was saying. She was talking about inflation resulting from a devalued L$, i.e., basing the value of the L$ on what you can buy with it. If we have inflation in rent and goods and services you would end up getting less value for your L$. ETA: This is worth thinking about, who is most likely to gain from inflation - merchants, customers, landlords, renters or LL?
  19. You are forgetting that the vast majority of buy orders are inworld and 'at market'.
  20. Oh Molly, we had a debate about this for pages and pages when you were another name. I remember us getting into all sorts of twists and turns to the point I got such a headache. And as Wulfie says 'here we go again' It's not normal behaviour - I am a share and currency trader, and I know what normal behaviour looks like ETA: I've been a trader since 1997, so I've spent over 20 years analysing market behaviour, everyday.
  21. Still a valid question though. Weren't we promised 1 to 2 days as normal and anything longer as unusual? Mine normally takes a day, and I would be annoyed if it took much longer - our fees were increased on that promise.
  22. My process credit request took just over 24 hours to go to complete, put it in Monday and done on Tuesday. It was a little slower over Christmas and New Year period, to be expected.
