  2. oh thanks Brooke *big hug*
  3. Sydney here, but we'll feel the impact. After all the floods and now this, most of our farms are in that State. We are going to run out of food

Just as there will always be some poor european merchant who can't ever make it. It's just the nature of the game. Can't please everyone always. I'm not saying it can't happen. I'm just saying I don't think it's likely that her office hours are EVER going to extend to the point they're accessible to everyone. My partner and I live in Australia. We have attended every single office hour right from the very first one. Pink did hold them outside normal office hours to accommodate for international merchants. So making long speeches about why it can't be done is invalid. It was done before and it can be done again.

Brooke is probably required (just guessing) to hold her OH on the clock which would most likely be during business hours in PST. So it would have to be sometime between 9am and 4pm SLT. So regardless of what time best suits Brooke, she might never be able to hold them past a certain time even if that's best for accomodating more users. Pink regularly held 3 sessions over one day. But yes, she did at least one from home. I remember her saying it was her bed time. So it isn't a requirement to have them in normal working hours - probably more a choice.

That is the means I currently have available for sending out mass emails, so opting in will make sure you get these communications from Marketplace. Yes, there are other solutions we could put into place to send mass emails, but the same information will be posted in this forum and tweeted. Since there are other options, I will prioritize this below software fixes for now. Brooke Brooke, There is a problem with emails. When bulk emails are sent out not everyone gets it. And it isn't always the same people who miss out. Sometimes my partner gets an email and I don't, and then vice versa. This time I got the email on maturity and he didn't. Unless this is fixed don't rely on emails only to communicate important information. This problem has nothing to do with opting to be removed from a list. There is something broken when sending out mass emails, which has been broken for a long time, and it needs to be looked at and fixed. or Twitter, a very small number of merchants use that.
  7. Well, the people who are most likely to make a fuss are parents. Parents see their 16 year olds as children.

If those teens we are referring to were under 16 I would certainly agree, however these changes are being foisted upon us supposedly to protect the innocence of a small motely bunch of 16 and 17 year olds who frankly, are much more street wise and savvy about sex & violence drugs and alchohol etc than many of us matures. One could make a strong case that it is indeed us who should be protected from them :-) ^L^ Well, maybe not protecting teens, but protecting SL from any bad publicity involving 'children' that could have a huge impact on its success - and so it is protecting all us merchants.

Madeliefste Oh wrote: Brooke, What I am missing in this process of implementing this new change that effects so many merchants, is the communication with us about it, before the plan is rolled out. You have announced it in the office hours, but there was not much room to stand still at the subject or have a discussion about it. Not that it would have made much difference, because after all your plans were there already the only thing that was left for you to do was force them on us. And that happened two days later. This is true, but even if Brooke had given us time to discuss the plans beforehand we would all have agreed that something needs to be done to protect teens. We probably would have accepted her plan. Nobody, including Brooke, would have foreseen that the plan was not going to work. It is only in retrospect that we see it. It seems the main problem is being caused by a bug, and nobody can foresee bugs.

They probably did consider this but didn't believe the 'we would have done so' part.... and when you say we, perhaps you mean you.

Someone that speaks for others and doesn't have a voice because I never talk about how it affects me ... or someone that is solely focused on my own needs and world and couldn't give a damn about others? Someone who likes talking.
  12. They obviously don't have it right yet. They never get it right the first time. So why is everyone surprised? They are probably aware of the problems already and it will be fixed. Just patience as usual.

That would be an interesting list of words . I picture Brooke straining her mind and typing out all the naughty words she can think of, or maybe she will do it in voice at the next meeting
  14. A couple of weeks ago I did have a delete button on a few items. But after I used it to delete those items I never saw that button again. I still have a list of items that say 'Item unavailable. Try resetting your magic box.' and nothing I've tried gets rid of them.
  15. Thanks, going into Edit - Preferences - Communication and then unticking the first box. It worked .
  16. People who aren't in my friends list can't tp me because this window is grey in my profile and non selectable. How do I change this so that anyone can tp me?
