  1. Thanks to everyone building a wonderful SL, and best wishes to all those moving on. https://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2020/02/sansar-second-life-linden-lab-ebbe-altberg-kona-gurion.html
  2. What a fantastic location. Perfect for the train & auto fan, too! I've a friend looking for something just like that. Hope there's more like this across the grid.
  3. Sometimes it can be due to neighbors living in different time zones, too. Some users list it in their Profile and you'll see SL Time + 6, or "Same time as SL Time, or SLT +3. I've found having that listed exceptionally helpful when wanting to chat with a neighbor or conduct a business transaction.
  4. I'm guessing that AR team isn't just for new Linden Home regions, but has to review/act on AR's from everywhere on the grid? No doubt a monumental task, I expect some delay from notice to possible action.
  5. During the Last Expo, The Victorian homes were revealed (before they were released to the public). For (almost?) 2 weeks, there was a silent auction for the Victorian give away. At the end of the Silent Auction, the highest bid became the opening bid for the live auction. Live = real auctioneer voiced the auction, something like 4 packed regions of avi's to watch and place bids. The big Prize was a Victorian, landscaped by the moles (your own island) and a one of a kind seasonal package. it currently has a lighthouse and boat rez zone next to the house. It was an incredible event and raised funds for Charity, the American Cancer Society. For a few that asked and missed the auction: Towards the end only two of us were left bidding; my highest bid topped at $L 600,000. The Winning Bid for the Victorian Package was only a few thousand $L over that. All proceeds went to the charity. The Live Auction Was December 15th, The Victorian regions were released to the public on December 16th. I found my beautiful Vic with luck like everyone else, and still have it with it's ownership date of 12/16. Exceptionally sentimental about it. I'm hopeful the Lindens will do it again for each reveal of a new theme. I wrote the following to thank those involved, the evening of the 15th after the auction
  6. I noticed that name curiosity the other day too. Was Ebb Tide the island from the Expo Auction?
  7. Yep, They'll need some school'n bout this construction
  8. @Raspberry Crystal, I see no point in calling people out who happen to like a particular post. I did understand & appreciate the writer's points. I also wrote after that post ""I've never seen a region where most every house stayed with an original owner, even with lots next to my Vic I thought were "perfect" were not their "Perfect", hedge/no hedge, sand only, grass only....everyone's hunt for their perfect is different. House hoppers are just looking for the home that makes them (most) happy. There will be (10's of) thousands of more houses coming, but it also takes time for the Moles to make them. " I suspect most people who follow this thread are savvy enough to know how the random system for allocation and abandon works and if not, would ask. "Don't forget you can move too!" tends to be used often a hammer rather than offering a welcoming hand of understanding. Those with 1 account can find it a challenge when seeing a number of users with multiple accounts gobble up 1/3 to 1/2 of a new region at a time consistently, and then dump them minutes \ hours or a day or two later. 1 account get's you 5 tries, 10 accounts for 50 tries and is totally allowed. I don't fall into either user's category but it costs nothing to appreciate their goals & concerns.
  9. Yep, I agree with this. I've never seen a region where most every house stayed with an original owner, even with lots next to my Vic I thought were "perfect" were not their "Perfect", hedge/no hedge, sand only, grass only....everyone's hunt for their perfect is different. House hoppers are just looking for the home that makes them happy. There will be thousands of more houses coming, but it also takes time for the Moles to make them.
  10. Lindens make the air but no planes, roads but no cars, and tracks but no trains, lol. So, Check this out on page 5 with links for trains, plus info on getting your own free one!
  11. It's a fantastic area with beautiful neighborhoods both up the tracks, by the sea and lake! Great fun to explore.
  12. It's looking very Tropical......That could fit in with a Miami look of bright colored mid-century homes... or LA.....
  13. Totally in love with this! Looks like a perfect location for those who like to drive (I do!).
  14. Always a keen eye with that Nika! Past history suggests the VP can drop clues like the subtle action of swiping left..(or is it up these days?). Had to giggle with with the lower right photo: A colleague just yesterday, bemused that our IT could see app names on his phone... while I'm explaining the TOS he didn't read... (and really just wanted to say "own it B.... & move one", rofl.) Maybe it's time to consider Country live'n. Barns, Corn fields, apple pie. Think I'll grab a Marlboro & take a little walk. "...he thinks my trackor's sexy...."
  15. Thanks for the tip about the Bibian! The Service car does look like a fun must have. I happened to see someone yesterday using the Freight Train and well, it's now in my inventory to try, rofl. Thanks for the great info too!
  16. Love these suggestions, and especially nice for folks to have different price points. Yesterday I picked up the Handcar to test as it looks like fun! https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Rail-Handcar-SLRR-v118c/9491836
  17. A very important link! Free Vehicles are always awesome, I hope everyone stops by and checks it out. Thanks for the info and link!
  18. Hi! This looks like perhaps the right forum for a train question. I understand Moles build the streets not the cars, make the air not the plane, water not the boat, & build the tracks but not the trains. kind of reminds me of an old commercial, something like " we don't make the things you love, we make the things you love, better" (subjective placement of last comma, but the intent was that company added the special ingredient that made the things we already love, even better). So I'm in the market for a Train, but have a few questions. I've heard they (it) should not be too long for turns, but what's too long? I purchased a simple rail car to test, but then realized once opened it had variations for different gauge. On my always growing to-do list to test, but meanwhile perhaps others have some LL train knowledge to pass along on what to use for Bellisseria Train tracks, what works, what didn't. Perhaps some tips for a novice who'd rather not buy a script and re-invent a perfectly good wheel that someone else already makes in an outstanding way. Thanks!
  19. I hope these stay somewhat \ somehow submerged and a little workie with some added fish & furniture as another underwater novelty, fun place to explore and attract mermaids too! If anyone's missed it, there is a sunken houseboat in Millers Pond in a region of Traditionals, so this wouldn't be out of place to have a house that fell off the cliff by the houseboats. I love regions that connect and intermingle LH stiles.
  20. During my evening fly over, I noticed SSPE1052 - SSPE1048 and practiced a few landings and takeoffs. No photos, just some prop dust left in the wind. On the way back home, I found these interesting items at the SW corner of SSPE379. Lost & Found? Maybe they fell off the cliff? No doubt we'll find out soon enough why they're under water!
  21. A heartfelt thanks to Mz. Loon for sharing these delightful adventures. A thoughtfully placed public bench resides on that little island; a perfect stop to contemplate the marvelous sights & sounds. My cherished Verne Victorian is just off camera behind your photo in Beautiful Dashwood. Thank you LDPW for developing such breathtaking areas for residents and the public to enjoy. Arial photo from my new flying machine.
  22. In a way that sounds fun for a release. With blank lots, a Linden could tell at a glance the houses taken as they start to pop up for their new owners. maybe it's easier on the server not having owners de-rez+-re-rez houses + plus assign + abandon + re-assign 20 Traditionals all at the same time or very close to it. It could present a blank slate for a new owner to freshly pick their own house style. On the flip side, it could be interesting if someone gets a lot and never touches the mailbox to rez a house. You could end up with an empty lot next to you with just lovely grass till an owner arrives to rez their home. I've noticed some homes 6 months old that are taken and not a 1 prim anywhere. I am thankful there are at least houses and landscaping to stop it from looking so empty like mainland with no occupants.
  23. In the past I've noticed some of the more sought after regions can be held back for a while & not released in order. Hammond Park & Permaglow come to mind. Spiderwood has a few to-die for lots close to campers & Houseboats a friend of mine is hopeful for.
