  1. Apologies to house hunters & this blog creator, I don't see a Blog yet for the Galaxy and wanted to reply. For those who have a LH or House Boat who might move away from the USS Galaxy, please consider posting here an advance notice of your move, I suspect some folks would love a spot by this historic treasure. Thanks for the info, @Aethelwine. I noticed yesterday its most previous position (before all links updated) there where sims around it. I kept thinking back in the day it was more stand alone and had nothing around it? Perhaps those who lived there might remember it while in original ownership, before its transition to the Lindens I was thinking there were no connected regions to it. I did find this: https://sl-aviation.fandom.com/wiki/SS_Galaxy "After almost eight years of continuous operation, the SS Galaxy was dismantled in May 2015 and access to its constituent regions was prohibited. On 28th August 2015, the regions which host the ship were relocated to the south-east of the Honah Lee Estate and the vessel was refitted as a museum by Linden Lab (operating as 'SS Galaxy Preservation Society') and opened to visitation. Owing to its new status as a monument, the vessel's facilities have been drastically reduced and rentals/events are not possible aboard now or in the future." So I'm guessing that Bellisseria is the 3rd location the ship has been docked at? And thanks to that (very new back then) thing called the internet: A feast of original FAQ's, dress codes, etc: http://www.ssgalaxy.net/ Thank you Lindens and Moles for giving this historic vessel new life.
  2. The SS Galaxy was an amazing build & destination event for it's day (2007). An important part of Linden History as the largest build in SL at that time. Privately owned and built over 3 sims (now called regions). People could rent rooms and rent event space on it, and there was hired staff and crew! This was as amazing then as the new Linden Homes are of today: the community was buzzing with events and shows that happened there. Seriously, Like the Victorians, THIS was incredible. Maybe the Lindens will allow events there like they do at the fairgrounds, it could hold a ton of people! I think it's fantastic it's now closer to civilization where others can explore it and it's connected via access to air & sea, I believe originally you could only TP to it? Some folks may only want empty sky as their view and more power to em, but I'd join others who think this would be a great addition to exploring for Bellisseria. Here's a WiKI about it: https://sl-aviation.fandom.com/wiki/SS_Galaxy
  3. True. You did a lovely job with the decor and landscaping with a nice park on one side and Ocean on the other. I've had some friends stop by that are amazed at the region. It will be interesting as two other houses on my block also changed hands, and fewer homes will date back to ownership by the original release date, not that it matters, but kind of cool none the less.
  4. Are most of these default Avi Outfits? (The one with high boots I'm guessing not). In the past, I've seen Avi's dressed exactly like these camping out on land that hadn't been released, but later on I'd see them own LH's too. So, maybe they're someone's alts for house hunting, region they were on bumped them here, or (regarding other photos) their cloths didn't fully rez? Unless an Avi's profile is offering a service that's not appropriate, performing acts reserved for an adult region, or seriously dressed inappropriately for the region (guessing that's not even a thing in Belli ), should a complaint be made because there is a group of them that don't reply, aren't constantly moving or are fairly new? I know in the past, people used "bots" for sitters and mining L's but I've no idea what they are used for today.
  5. I'm confident I've seen at least one of your alter ego's name's on some amazing property somewhere. And good for you, why not have a little house hunting fun.
  6. True, while this could fall into the category of "what were they thinking", there could always be more to a story. They may have had something come up mid project and had to stop. They may Love their houseboat and just want some extra space outside. 1st glance says it's possible they may have little experience with texturing/tinting, or even know that's a content packet in the mailbox. If my neighbor next door had this, It's the perfect opportunity to make a new friend & spark a conversation, starting with an introduction and later Whats-ya making? Most people are happy to chat about what they're making. They're aiming for a little sandy beach or a deck? "I've seen some cool examples we could check out for ideas or send links", or "I have some experience if you ever want some help". And if $L are an issue, you can always send a gift from the Market or give them something from your inventory you've made for them to try as another option. Not directed to anyone who's posted on this feed, but something I try and remember: We can run with the mean girls, or we can be Mr. Rodgers and reach out to our neighbors. Point fingers, or offer a hand to help others. Sometimes its really as simple as how you take that 1st step.
  7. One does it, others think it's ok and do it too. Thus the reason for a Covenant.
  8. Thanks Pussycat & LittleMe, I'll update my link!
  9. You can also find a very handy Builder-grid-texture in the market place like this one: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Basic-Builders-Grid-Texture/8534776 Rez a prim, make it 10 x 10 wide, then drop the texture on it (texture ratio should be 1 to 1). For a larger size, edit the prim, (un-check stretch texture), then stretch prim to desired size (like your borders). Instant workbench to rez stuff on, build, drop a sky box on it & Know where your border is at all times while in the sky. Rez a prim and stretch it edge to edge of the exact property lines. (Mainland property can take a few linked prims to get the full layout). While in edit mode, adjust the number higher for the arrow up to place it in the sky. fly up to the prim & land on it, make a landmark. Great tip previously mentioned too: Edit that prim texture/color using a nice sky blue (sides/bottom) so it stands out less. I tend to build on a sky workbench (platform) where things are out of the way from the casual passer by, no trees or walls affecting my view, & projects left out don't bother the neighbors. For larger projects building right to the property's edge, I build & finish out about 90% done on a sky workbench, and then lower my work straight down onto the finished lot(s). Even in edit mode, Some projects don't like to rez in place from inventory when too close or right on property lines (This was done with the "Bay City Canal Terminal", you can find it in search, open to the public).
  10. Great points, Pussycat. I could not agree with you more. Some folks want sand, others grass or water, or countless subtle differences. Our common thread is living in a Beautiful neighborhood without cluttered sky (or water) and enjoy some Neighborhood structure, accepting that it takes some rules to follow in order to see that happen. We all have a different shopping list of what we'd like for our home, and I don't begrudge folks who've purchased a number of alts to increase their search for their version of happy. The Moles have done such an amazing job, some just can't decide yet! Sadly, that previous poster also suggests "most people in this particular thread look at Bellisseria as a (house flipping) game..". I've followed these posts long enough to see how grateful people are to know when areas are being released or returned to the pool. It is a kind head's up for people looking for their home and a number have in fact found their forever home thanks to this. Most people aren't evil or short sighted on the meaning of Bellisseria. Sadly there will always be those who like to point superior fingers and label some less enlightened than themselves, or point to the door and tell you to get out.
  11. Thanks @vernkellie ! I noticed some dots on the map but figured it was some hard working Moles (what a satisfying job that must be). I'd won the plane at a charity auction and it was my 1st time taking it up/out. With no trees - houses or people around, I figured it was a fun /safe time to give it a try. Actually had a blast checking out the new construction in my own backyard. Soon enough the SSP #'s will be replaced with names and it will be another stunning neighborhood. Till then, maybe I can squeeze in a few more evening practice flights!
  12. Usually Docked at the Boathouse in AleWife, fun times taking the seaplane out to explore the neighborhood. Practiced some touch & go on the new empty land, and couldn't resist a pass or two under the new bridge connecting SSPE1038 to SSPE382. Thank you Moles & Lindens, such a beautiful growing area.
  13. Loretta, May I ask the source of your Brick planters our front & exterior Fireplace Chimney? Beautiful work btw indoors and out! Loretta String ×
  14. OH, now with SSPE names, nice! It's really an exceptional area. I was thrilled to see Abnor Mole Building a Victorian Bridge there last night, connecting that land to the north where new Traditionals being built.
  15. Could be. The Houses on the North side getting built are Traditional.
  16. New Year, New Land Not on the Map yet! Viewer at max Draw.
  17. My Victorian is in Beautiful Dashwood. While exploring the neighborhood North and East, I found some new land that's not on the map yet!
  18. On a positive note, better gray to match the house boat than perhaps full bright pink or yellow. Given the proximity to the mainland, could be a transitional look. Party in the front.....
  19. Hi Alwin, if that Vic is the one you posted photos of by my house, I've a friend who'd love to try and live nearby.
  20. I noticed during the last bug (at least with the Victorian), if you re-rez your house from the mailbox it would update the house to the latest version. It doesn't look like a region reboot updates a house version, as I've noticed Homes in the area still have an older version of a Victorian with 1 or 2 still using the old bug. As a side note, it would be awesome to see a menu for the Traditionals at some point like the Vic's have....dark molding on a Traditional...swoon.
  21. I'm loving this location you have, a little grass, a little sand...
