  1. pathfinding was not rolled to le tigre. server notes on the wiki for this week have always stated we were getting creator tools on le tigre. the only time pathfinding has been mentioned in relation to le tigre, was several weeks ago but that roll was canceled that week. I should add I know this because my region is le tigre, I watched the releases religiously.
  2. In testing the llTeleportAgent() function, I see it has a throttle of about 1 TP per second. Does anyone know, is this a per-object throttle, or a per-Avatar throttle? Thanks.

To fix cars hanging at low speed use the following steps: 1.If not already move the cars root approximately .5m up from the ground 2.(for high prim no attachment cars)Set the root to prim for physics type, set the wheels to convex hull(a mesh wheel using a spherical physics shape is preferred)and set everything else to none. I'm still working on why the return to last position feature fails for some cars and not other and will pass that information along as I find it. I suggest following the JIRA's for any issue as that is where the real work goes on. In this case it's SVC-8048 Thanks

MB seemed to understand it though. Must be some special nerd language lol. So if you want to know what he said you would have to ask MB. It would be good if MB could come and share that information with the rest of us.

The next attempt at getting in here still dumped me back at the help page of Secondlife.com and when I navigated back to this forum, It told me that I was NOT logged in! So to you and Cincia, who do not have these issues, I say "Good for you", but I still DO have issues with this Lithium software and I have done from the day it was introduced. I have no problems with the SL JIRA nor the Grid, nor any other websites, so I have to insist that there is something different about SL's Forum software, and not in a good way! You're not the only one. I have to log in two times every time I visit the forums. It's the forums, not you or I. I don't really mind much. I rarely come here. And I know it took LL about 2 years to get logging into the SL website *overall* to persist past a day. I gather either it's intentional, or something at the bottom of a very, very long list of things to do some day.

It's when the poster does not even know the correct name of the company they want to diss in their thread. The name of the company that owns and operates Second Life is not Linden Labs.......it is Linden Lab (without the "s"). Small thing, I know. But, if you want people to really pay attention to your post/thread you might consider, at least, learning the correct name of the company you are ranting about. Nobody cares. The fact LL left off the S is just another example of their ineptitude.:matte-motes-nerdy:
  7. Huseby Linden wrote: We (Linden Lab) now have the power to turn on/off the new LSL functions. This RC release has the new LSL functions disabled. In a later config change release, we will enable them. There is no on/off control of the new LSL functions available to residents. I find this a little troubling. I hope this 'power' would only be used in the most extreme cases, and not on capricious whims once the function is released. I'd hate to base a product on such a function, sell it to thousands of people, only to have LL decide they feel like disabling it.
  8. Peggy Paperdoll wrote: It's not patently false. Most home routers ... Yes, now that you changed the wording from "All" to "Most" I can agree. There are still plenty of consumer routers that do *not* have wireless. (I should know, that's the only kind I buy!)
  9. Peggy Paperdoll wrote: I also want to add one more thing to my first post about wireless connections. All routers designed for home use are wireless. So even if you connect with an Ethernet cable (a Cat5e cable) your router will still transmit and recieve wirelessly......you need to lock down the router regardless of whether or not you actually connect wirelessly. Anyone with a wireless computer or smart phone within the range of the router can connect if it's wide open........and you probably would not know it unless you actually looked (which most will never think to do). You neighbor who lives in a basement (and you never see or even know about) could be downloading child pornography on your connection.........the FBI comes knocking your door, not his. Yes, I just want to point out this is patently false. It's liike saying all red cars are Ferraris. There are a wide array of routers for home use, fully wireless, fully wired, and some with both wired and wireless. Naturally in the event your router does have wireless capability, you should secure it. Most Dual wired/wiress routers ship with wirless off by default, but don't bank on that.
  10. I think everyone missed the system specs down in the Right corner: Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2450M processor (2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.10 GHz) 6GB Dual Channel DDR3 1333MHz 750GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M 1GB graphics with Optimus 15.6" Multi-Touch HD (1366x768) Truelife WLED Display with Skype-Certified 2.0MP HD Webcam 8X Tray Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive) 6 Cell (56 WHr) Battery I looked up the 525M, it's a middle of the road card compared to other mobile cards: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-525M.43889.0.html Looking at the benchmarks it should perform decently, but it's not going to be a screamer. That combined with the usual sub-par performance laptops have, you're likely not going ot see the blazing fast performance you expected.
  11. Not sure why this is a Horror Story, or why you expect controversy. A graphics card is a GPU, it's a co-processor of sorts. It takes load of the main CPU. Programs can use this to their advantage to speed up operations. On the flip side, when a GPU doesn't support some functions, they have to be emulated in software by the CPU. So all you have is a case where you went from a poorly supported GPU that had many functions emulated by the CPU, to a better GPU that could actually take on and accelerate more functions. A good thing, and completely expected. What a huge non-controversy.
  12. I have found a new issue which has arisen in the last two days, I can only guess it's related to today's Deploy, but it seems to affect all sims, even those not rolled today (Verified on Le Tigre, Bluesteel, Magnum, and the Release Channel): https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-8024 It's not a serious issue by any means, but certainly causing some confusion. FYI
  13. Ansariel Hiller wrote: That's caused by pathfinding. One of the list of long-known and still unfixed nasty bugs in pathfinding... That's not a bug, it's just an incompatibility between two server versions. Once the whole grid has Pathfinding, it will magically disappear. :matte-motes-big-grin:
  14. "Also if you look at the median numbers of those on line this week you will see it has declined steadly" It's called summer time. It's that magical time of the year when people actually get up from their computers and go outside. Also many in Europe are watching the Football (Soccer) and going on vacations. So, the lower numbers have absolutely nothing to do with server deploys or grid conditions. :smileyhappy:
  15. FIgured I would put this here so people know. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-8000 LSL function llGetWallclock() displays number of seconds since Zulu (GMT) midnight instead of Pacific time midnight.
  16. The "LMV2" message is not conform to the lockmeister version 1 spec. older restraints will simply reject or ignore such a message, they will continue to function as they always have using the first message in series. you don't lose anything by using the 2 spec. The materials are pretty clear as to how it all works, a V1 message is sent, followed by the V2 extension. V1 items use the V1 message and ignore the rest. V2 items use the V1 message and the V2 message in conjuction. As to "why you should', that's up to you. However the V2 Spec helps everyone by reducing script load for all.
  17. As many who are familar know, the old V1 Lockmeister protocol required a script per chain point to allow for handshaking between the chain prims and the furniture for proper chain targeting. However with recent LSL advances, it would be nice to have a way to centralize everything to one script and use llLinkParticleSystem() instead. The V2 Spec allows this to be accomplished, and Kyrah Abattoir has finally published the official spec. http://kdc.ethernia.net/2012/05/10/lockmeister-version-2-specifications-now-live/ FYI
  18. dude this is probably the worst post I ever read. the best part is where you describe the guy with a bunch of letters and numbers his name, and then looking at your name. and then the first person that comes along and point out what you're doing is getting youtube hits (which is true), you wanna go and start insulting them. O_o you're a real piece of work.

I only started back as a merchant about 2 months ago, after being 'retired' for 3 years. I expect there's a lot I'm not aware of. It's not like LL tells anyone anything. Thanks to all for the information on the group.
  20. Luna Bliss wrote: Dakota announced this in the Commerce group today. It would be nice if these kinds of changes were announced in advance so we wouldn't all scramble around and worry. So what is this group and why as a SLM merchant am I not in it?
  21. Luna Bliss wrote: We don't have to worry about this anymore Apparently we weren't charged for some enhancements going back perhaps 2 weeks, and they are finally fixing this by charging everyone today. I discovered all of my charges today were accurate (they represented 4 I wasn't charged for in the past). And where did you get this information? Nobody told me anything like that. They said file a ticket and that's what I did, with no response so far.
  22. There's a JIRA open about it: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SH-2835 I was able to work around it as described in the JIRA. But I don't know that's the only cause.
  23. Yabusaka Loon wrote: This might help. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/CTS-590 Linking to JIRA entries that are hidden to the pubic doesn't really help much.
  24. For the curious, I researched p0.com, and it traces back to a company called Infogroup. They have a subsidiary calleed InfoUSA, which manages Mailing Lists. Some insight into companies that use Mailing list management companies provided by PC Magazine (Ziff Davis), indicates this company uses p0.com to verify how many people acutally read the newsletters/mailing list emails (reference: http://discuss.pcmag.com/forums/permalink/1004428769/1004428769/ShowThread.aspx#1004428769 ) So in short, p0.com isn't really that malicious, its just going to give LL some feeback about how well their newsletter campaign is working supposedly. They should probably take into account that a good percentage of people block p0.com along with all other ad based junk, via DNS block lists like the one at http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm Another case solved by the Dari the Internet Detective.
  25. Seems the link to the 'free gift' redirects to a website called P0.com. This site is considered 'questionable' and many DNS block lists include it. (Described as [Web Bug][siteAdvisor.p0.com]). McAffee states its harmless, but people report spam emails and call it adware/spyware. So click with care. http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/p0.com A safer direct link is http://secondlife.com/destinations/premium/gifts Not sure why LL is directing people to a questionable site and using an obfuscator to hide it (link.secondlife.com) (I should clarify the questionable link is the one they put in the Email)
