Marketplace Release Notes March 15, 2011
Medhue Simoni replied to Brooke Linden's topic in Merchants
Thanks Brook! Sorry, if I was a bit snarky. Putting out major updates on tuesday is a huge improvement to how LL does things. I sincerely hope that all of LL starts to engage in this type of practice. Although, I have pretty steady sales during the week, many businesses in SL are alot like RL businesses that see a jump in sales during the weekends. Being that there are only 52 weekends, or so, in a year, even wasting a few with badly timed updates can not only hurt alot of businesses but also frustrate the consumers of these products. Personally, I don't like any of the new changes concerning maturity, but I understand that these changes are not because any1 of us wants it this way but because LL chooses to listen to a highly paranoid legal team. If you ask me, this team is simply creating reasons to solidify their own jobs, but not really making anything safer for us or LL. Just my thoughts tho. -
Marketplace Release Notes March 15, 2011
Medhue Simoni replied to Brooke Linden's topic in Merchants
Well, kudos on putting out a release today, but I thought updates were no longer going to be deployed just before the weekend, which is what happened again with the last update. So, I think LL should check their calenders more. Heck, I don't work a normal job, but I do know when it is thursday and when it is tuesday. -
Well, I don't sell any adult items, except 1 that LL considers adult because of the word Staf. Oddly enough, it has picked up in sales, lol. Overall for me, I don't see any real decline or increase. 2 weeks ago, was about 15% below average, and last week was 15% above average. The marketplace changes do not help, but also consider that the inworld search has been changing on an almost daily basis and I've seen major shifts in Inworld search. Personally, I don't think any of that redzone stuff has anything at all to do with sales. Seems to me that all shifts in sales are because of changes by LL, not shoppers. I'm be a happy man when LL cuts back on the tinkering.

Well, because SL has a pretty big art culture, I thought I would share this movie here. It was easily the best movie that I've seen in years. Quite a roller coaster. You should be able to watch it all here, but I'm also showing it on 1 of my parcels, in a small basic cinema. Just search for "Exit through the Gift Shop" in the inworld search, and use quotes. Or goto Youtube, but I don't expect it to stay there long.

If at all possible, you should always make a copy of an AO, before you do anything. If the ao is not copy, then you will need to contact the maker of the AO and explain politely what you did and ask if you can either get the animation or a new AO hud.

I don't know if this will help you, but it has worked for me and many with login issues. Just Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming and Delete the whole Secondlife folder. -
Get OpenOffice! It works great, and it is free.

How many frames should I use for a dance animation?
Medhue Simoni replied to Victoria Lenoirre's topic in Animation Forum
How many frames? This all depends on you. In SL, the only real limits there are is that you can't go over 30 FPS, and you can't go over 30 seconds for 1 animation. My suggestion would be to create the dance at 10 fps, and make the dance with as few animations as you can. If you want minimums and maxes, I guess 900 frames would be around the max, and the minimum is, of course, 2. Remember tho, that every bit of data that you tack on adds to upload times for the user, so you want to keep things at a reasonable rate, which is why i suggest 10 fps. 2 models in Qavi? Goto, File/Open to bring in the first model, which will be a bvh file, then goto File/Add to bring in the 2nd model, or bvh file. Good Luck! -

Doing this was the only way I was able to login with the latest viewer. Just Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming and Delete the whole Secondlife folder.

How to withdraw money from Second Life?
Medhue Simoni replied to xemyn's question in Linden Dollars (L$)
You also need to have a Verified PayPal account, which i think means that it needs to be connected to a bank account. Once you have connected your verified Paypal account, sold lindens, and sent the real cash to Paypal, there will be a 3-5 day delay before you actually see the money in your Paypal account. You can also have LL send you a check, but i think that has to be over a certain limit. -
Off Topic is not viewable
Medhue Simoni replied to Medhue Simoni's topic in General Discussion Forum
I would say it is not legit. First, I don't know of 1 time when LL has given lindens to take a survey. 2nd, if I have gotten a survey from them, they don't send me a reminder. -

What is exactly the point of posting anything then? You can't be happy and you can't be critical, and eventually some1 will say something that gets the thread deleted. Why even have a forum? Would save me alot of time. Oh, wait, i see. If we are not helping, we should shut up. OTaY! -

Well, I just noticed that my Woohoo! thread was removed from the Roundtable. Did we/I do something wrong? Is the merchant roundtable just for business talk? I thought it was a playful thread. None of it was derogatory. I'm still scratching my head.:smileysurprised: -
DARN. You have been logged out of second life.
Medhue Simoni replied to Orange Fallen's question in Technical
Great! I tried to find all the posts that I commented on this. I'm happy you found 1 of my other posts. Have fun! -
Just wondering if any1 else noticed this. You can not view the Off Topic category unless you are logged into the foums. The Private Forums are the same way. For some time, I knew that some were missing, it just did not hit me until now as to why.:smileytongue:

What is the best way to increase my FPS?
Medhue Simoni replied to Charolotte Caxton's question in Technical
Draw distance is the largest factor, then ground, sky, and clouds use alot of fps. You can also take away foot shadows. Turning off all windlight settings will give you a big boost. 1 of the largest issue that most people do not think about, is what you are wearing. There are a number of ways to check what you wear, but the easiest is to make sure your stats window is open, ctrl+shift+1, and take off items 1 by 1 and watch your FPS. You'd be surprised at how much 1 item can lower your fps so much. Last thing, make sure you cache is as large as possible. Although your cache does not have alot to do with fps, if you are constantly downloading data all the time, and constantly needing to load textures than there will be delays in what you see and when, which can be worst than low fps. -
http://community.secondlife.com/t5/help/faqpage/faq-category-id/ranksroles#ranksroles Members can post Youtube videos, and add tags. Beyond that, all the extra POWERS have to do with the KB. So, unless any1 is jealous of people who can edit the KB, then you have nothing to even be annoyed with. I'm not the kind of person that enjoys doing documentation, so I'll be happy to never make it beyond this, lol.

Hmm, well, maybe you can describe exactly what happens when you try to use another viewer. I'm kinda wondering for myself, if the Away time out is an issue. I noticed after mine was fixed that my setting for this was 2 minutes. I would never set it to 2 minutes. Imagine tho, that the viewer is taking a long time to load, my friends kept saying I was there, and I could hear music, but then all of a sudden I get logged out. So, if my Away setting was 2 min, it could very well be that the system was taking longer than that 2 minutes and thinking i had not moved or done anything so it logs me out. Sooo, maybe checking that Away setting might help, and setting it real high.

Hitomi Tiponi wrote: Did you try the trick that Venus Nurmi used in VWR-24857? You can find the latest Snowstorm dev version by clicking on the relevant link on the right of the Snowstorm page. No but I did find this fix and now I'm in so called 2.5.1 heaven, lol. I hope this helps some others, cause I've seen similar issues from all kinds of people. Just Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming and Delete the whole Secondlife folder.

I've had issues for awhile, and this was the only thing that fixed it. Just Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming and Delete the whole Secondlife folder.
