  1. maybe I should ban the OP as a precaution seeing the record of disrespectfullness, safes the trouble of having to deal with it in the first place.
  2. I'm no expert but baking in SL usualy revers to the process of maping textures to surfaces so involves a litle more then just combining textures but I do agree that at first tought the improvement would be minor, on the other hand we have lost the abilety of z offset without editing shape so there might be more to it then it looks like.
  3. in this case I would say donate to your local red cross, afterall the red cross is on international organisation and they move funds around as needed.
  4. Freya Mokusei wrote: I left this out of my reply to the thread as it wasn't relevant, but I highly disagree with your statement that LL needs a covenant for the waterways. I'm not sure what you're agreeing with in my post. The landowner pays for land, they can do whatever they like with it. The demands of sailors using the waterways for free doesn't interest me, it's the same as anywhere else in SL. good point, who pays makes the rules, so if sailers want more protected waterways they should ask LL to protect them as soon as parcels get abandoned. Not sure if they will but doesn't hurt to ask.
  5. if it is firestorm 4.4.0 with phoenix ui it's under comm>online status
  6. usualy http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Child_avatar has enough info for most people. some people, not saying it is the case now, are looking for proof that child avatars are not allowed in SL, they have been disapointed for about 10 years now.
  7. thank you for sharing, sadly no Linden is going to read it, but maybe filing a ticket can help speeding things along https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ there is a special topic for payouts under billing. Hope that will help
  8. Vasili Komarov wrote: I've been renting a parcel for about a month now. From what I've come to learn now, the land was owned by one property company, then leased to a second property company, and I subleased it from him. I paid my tier each week at the office of this second property company. This past Saturday, 18 May, I prepaid 4 weeks of tier, a total of $5000L. Yesterday morning I logged in and got a notice that the person I had been subleasing my land from had not been keeping up with his tier payments, and all of his properties were being taken away from him, effective immediately. I had to quickly go in and pick up all of my stuff so that it didn't get auto-returned to me, which is a mess I didn't want to have to deal with. I IM'ed every person who is listed as "working for" the property company who was taking my rent, asking them for a refund of my $5000L. I haven't gotten an answer back from anyone. I opened a support ticket with Linden, complaining to them that I have been defrauded out of my $5000L. So far, all I've gotten back from Linden has been an auto-response saying they would look into my complaint, but who knows when. Quite honestly, I'm pretty put off by this, and I want to know if anyone here knows what recourse I have? I buy all of my Lindens with cash, so $5000L is a lot to me. There doesn't seem to be any oversight from Linden on how property transactions work. I feel that I and all of the other people who were renting parcels from this guy should have been warned at some point that our properties were about to be taken away. I NEVER would have prepaid for 4 weeks tier fees if I had known that my landlord was about to lose all of his properties. And now he has my money... and I can't get anyone to answer me. Any suggestions from anyone here? if hystory is any indication you won't get any help from LL it is also very likely that the first company did not even know you was renting from the second company so expecting them to give you notice is like expecting the bank of your rl landlord to give you notice that they are going to foreclose on the house you live in.. granted there are laws rl in several countries to pretect you from being evected in that case but the expectations are the same. the only persons you can get your money back from is the people you paid the money to, as you indicate that the money is a lot for you I am sure you are willing to do some investigating in groups etc. to find someone who is willing to talk to you, that is probably your best hope.
  9. in the first google result pointing to this forum, not even the top result in google I found this posting from 2011 that I think says it all: Really? Do we need yet another child avatar thread? Isn't this particular amaretto horse already a flattened sculpt? http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Child_avatar also in another treat in this forum a bit more recent this one also hits the mark: I'll see your child avatar and raise you an 8 foot tall woman with bling heels and breasts that defy gravity as they giggle like jello despite being 38KKK (or more) cupped. /shudders
  10. holly necropost batman.. Did you dig this up just to troll?
  11. like kahlie said, it is important if it is display name or account name, logic would lead me to asume it is display name and that is not against the TOS, if it realy is account name then there is no point to terminate the account because it is just an alt and they will make a new one to start all over again, you are far from the only one dealing with this problem
  12. sounds like a personal dispute, from your first post I was asuming fraud but this is a resident to resident dispute and LL does not get involved in that, looks you're on your own in this
  13. GothGirl Demonia wrote: The only reason I feel they added the authroized Reseller list was becuase of Big Estate companies and people who make L$ in Second Life, many of them likely told Linden Lab they would quit if they couldn't sell their L$ anymore but here is what is really happening in my opinion cant be proven but use some common sense and not like LL is going to do anything. Big Estate Companies like the Anshe Chun, are just collecting L$ off of users who pay tier on the many Estates they have, but almost every Estate Company does it, they charge a little bit more than the actual cost of the sim if you do the math parcel and calculations, then they take that L$ from all the renters and sell it to users throguh third parties like PayPal to make more profit aka avoiding the Linden Lab cash out fee then use that money to pay for their tiers its a simple concept. You are very far off the mark, I am an estate owner, no where near Anshe but the princeple is the same. it is far cheaper to sell the L$ on Lindex if you are going to use it to pay tier because the route trough a TPE and paypall just adds extra costs. nobody works for free. one thing Anshe did that reduced cost was selling her profit L$ on her own exchange, she can nolonger do that now but no other estate owner took this route becouse few others make enough profit to make it worth while
  14. just estate ban them, if they can't come on your sims they can't confuse your renters
  15. Gordon Wendt wrote: Innula, the people on the thread you linked to bring up a good point though, unless they are getting a major discount that isn't sustainable. I'd expect that to change at some point because there's no way that they are buying from Lindex (which ostensibly they have to) and charging less than cost. The alternative explanation is that the TPE TOS is a fiction and they're getting some discount window type of deal directly from LL for Lindens and are actually paying less for them than we know. They are getting a discount, the same one you and me can get buy placing limit orders and waiting a few days, it just means they have to plan ahead and keep a buffer so they can afford to wait for the limit orders to be filled.and with the same fixed fee of 0.30 usd it gets even cheaper to buy in large volumes. that is also why you make relavily more profit trading on lindex when you have a large volume then when you only have a small volume, if I remember right you actualy need at least 200 usd trading volume to break even trading on lindex. offcourse most people have no idea how lindex works so I can understand the confusion.

  17. Qie Niangao wrote: Agreed that the L$ is a very tightly controlled currency and that there's practically no risk of fluctuation with Supply's presence in the market. I wonder, though, how you got the US$300,000 figure. The Lab used to publish monthly statistics on how many L$s they sold, but that was years ago -- unless there's a newer source. https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-limits.php at the bottem is the limits for Supply Linden per 24 hour and 30 days offcourse it can be less then that but that is the maximum.
  18. hubbaird wrote: This is only great news if you don't understand the consequences. It means it will be much easier to put money into the game than taking them out of it. This will most likely cause inflation, which means L$ to devalue over time. To Linden this is great because it means people will need to buy more and more L$ to purchase the same stuff, but the users will pay the price. You forget that LL controlls the money, if there is more demand for L$ then LL will just put more L$ in the market, if there is less demand they will put less L$ in the market, it's the function of Supply Linden, currently they are putting a maximum of 300000 usd worth of L$ in the market Edit: also if Supply Linden is not enough they can easely increase sinks like cost for advertising, listing in search, group creation etc.
  19. Dillon Levenque wrote: It appears to me that while CC use in Europe may not be nearly as common as it is in the US (where it is almost universal) it certainly can't be called UNcommon. While it definatly is posible for someone with a good credit rating to get a CC more and more people that have one are giving it up because of 2 reasons. first even unused they cost a lot of money because nobody wants a CC without some form of insurance against fraud and seccond they hurt your credit rating, the limit on the creditcard counts as a loan even when not used meaning that if you need a loan for something the CC limit is deducted from the loan limit. Normaly it would not be a big problem but with the poor rl economy it is becoming a big one, especialy as the banks are limiting loans more and more when people actualy need them. (a saying here is a bank gives you an umbrella when the sun shines and takes it away when it rains)

This would have made life a lot easier for some bitcoin miners most of whom probably make way less than $1,000 a day from their mining activities. The problem is that FinCEN classifies virtual currency exchangers and administrators as money transmitters, and not as currency exchangers A person must exchange the currency of two or more countries to be considered a dealer in foreign exchange. Virtual currency does not meet the criteria to be considered “currency” under the BSA, because it is not legal tender. Therefore, a person who accepts real currency in exchange for virtual currency, or vice versa, is not a dealer in foreign exchange under FinCEN’s regulations. (FIN-2013-G001,pp 5-6) I think most TPEs meet that criteria off foreign exchange, or should say met, because they accepted and paid in usd aus$ can$ euro ponds and maybe a few more currencies.. in fact if they only deal in euro they already meet that criteria because the euro is a multinational currency.

What's in your private skybox is not what LL's adult policies are looking to regulate. If it's out in the open in a public space, like an adult club or such, then by all means report it if you must. If you're poking around in someone's private residence and stumbled upon them, well nobody likes the self-appointed morality police. technically, that's the written rule for M rated land, not G rated land. In reality, LL have better things to do than go around banning residents for having a bit of naughty furniture in their private homes on G rated land, especially as doing so would cost them a lot more income than they gain from the person reporting the issue (who more often than not is some lowlife without even payment info, a leecher who never pays a dime to use the services of LL yet sees fit to play all high and mighty moral police over those that do, then complains when LL has to resort to things like advertising on the forums to make ends meet. People like that are the reason my M rated homestead is set to group access only and hidden from search. OOOH, we've a few sexbeds and cuddlerugs, someone like OP would no doubt object to that (no need to go look for them, we've both upgraded to A and increased security even more by adding orbs over some of the land in addition to the group access settings). How dare you setting group access and orbs, don't you know the low flyers will crash now when they fly over your land, what a horrible person you are, you will surely be thrown in the cornfield for that

Also, The disability benefits that I have, V.E.S.I.D., Prohibits me from having ANYTHING to do with banking, lest my benefits be voided permanently. I hope this makes things more vivid. ok I'm confused here. if you are prohibited from anything to do with banking, what alternative do you sugest for buying L$, debet cards even anonimous ones are banking as wel, the only way for you to handle money without something to do with banking is cash and I highly doubt you will be able to send cash to LL to put in your usd account... what in itself is banking too.

The same was said with the gambeling ban, banking ban and openspace fiasco, yet we are still here and this is having a far smaller effect then the earlier things judging by the amount of L$ actualy being cashed out, the limit sell orders are stable at 247 L$/$ and orders are filled in 4 to 5 days like usualy. My renters are also still paying their rent as normal
