Hi Darrius. I'm not from USA, I believe what you say. But is there in USA laws against cybersex (cybersex as in SL) between minors or cyber sex of minors with adults?
-
Well, I could say there are some exceptions for inworld shopping
If I decide to buy an expensive prefab or, lets say, am elaborated expensive pet or wild animal, like the whale I bought, I surely use SL Market, cause Inworld search just does not work.
But I would never do the final purchase without checking the item Inworld, rezzed or checking the prefabs rezzer parcel
Maybe a dress or a texture or simple objects do not need Inworld but complex or expensive 3D spacial creations like homes, etc, still do need
Would you buy a 10K castle or skyscraper before checking it closely Inworld ?
My point is - Some products benefit from 3D shopping Inworld and justify land tiers to show and sell them
Totally agree.

I'm not sure of the real-world age limit on buying tobacco--like RL age-of-consent it may not be 18 in other countries than the USA--but there are age limits. So at that level, it isn't crazy.
So, if RL age limit for dirve a car is18 in some countries, a car is a Mature item? And airplanes? And buy and own land? And use a weapon (General in guidelines!!)?

Other entry of statistics useless. Pure advertising.

Well, I have heard of first cases that web profiles were reported to the european department of juvenile protection for displaying adult, fascist, perverted sexual and other illegal content freely on the web. Wel'll see what happens now.
What if LL gets banned in europe for the web profile nonsense?

If you do something for fun, it is a game ...And if you are spending time in SL for any other reason then fun, then you ought to consider going back into RL, just because its not supposed to be specifically fun ...I'm stunned. Then, SOCIALIZE is a game for you? Because one (not only) of my main reasons for being in SL is socialize, socialize seriously, not socialize as a game.

This is not a "technical" issue, so I prefer remember here (not in the Discussion page) that we need a sure but fast and easy system for translate pages from the Knowledge Base into other languages (and perhaps from the "LL Official")

I have disabled the migration (i am not sure either), because I do not want to have my listing descriptions overwritten (again). I just want the old sales data from XSL.

Making Strides to Improve our Customer Support Services
in Inworld

Hi Vogt.
In your last blog post, you said:
New Abuse Appeals Process
One thing that we updated already, as part of our new case and chat platform, is the Abuse Appeals process. As you will notice if you peruse the case submission form, you will see that the abuse appeals option has disappeared. Our new approach is directly targeted at those affected by disciplinary action. If your account is suspended or banned, then secondlife.com will allow you to log in on the affected account and will take you to a form designed specifically for creating an appeals case.
Unfortunately, a secondlife.com authentication bug has temporarily disabled this function. While our web team works on that issue, we've established a temporary process. If you need to file an abuse appeal, please log in to secondlife.com with an alt account. Then, file a new ticket from http://secondlife.com/support, selecting "Account Issues" and then "Second Life Web Login Issue." Be certain to include any information you believe is relevant to our re-evaluation of your case. As soon as the new Abuse Appeals process is reinstated, then we will let you know.
Is fixed the authentication bug yet? Unless banned oneself, it's not possible to check if fixed or not.

[QUICKTIP] Dragging a texture preview to apply it
A group blog by Secondlife in General
During my first year in SL, when I wanted to create a folder to place it inside another folder of the Inventory I FIRST created the folder and THEN moved into the other folder.
It took me a year to learn that I could right-click the folder and creaste a new folder inside.
Fool (like me) but true

Great job, congratulations!!
PS. There is an uncorrect link in the post:
- Q: How will Mesh objects look if you’re viewing them from an older viewer, such as those based on Viewer 1.23?
- A: They will look like flat shapes and will not resemble the real mesh objects. See the Mesh wiki page for examples.

I don't know if it's interesting add to the wiki document: "if your skybox is under 400 meters will be shoon on the World Map (and perhaps and may cover oher structures" (or something similar... and in correct English LOL).

If anybody knows of a source of maps showing the distribution of PG and Mature regions on Mainland I'd be very interested.
See http://lab.kathar.in/heatmap/ (info: http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2010/08/sl-heatmap.html).

[HELP] Check out the NEW Second Life sidebar tutorial for basic must-knows!
A group blog by Secondlife in General
Torley, I've always wondered why a tutorial (for example THAT VIDEO) does not NECESSARILY appear to any new resident during the registration process. It is possible to "purposely delay" the passage from one page to another in the registration form. And while waiting for the new page appears, LL can show in each page a "chapter" of the tutorial. That is used in many sites.
I know I use a veeery bad English, sorry.. But I hope you (Torley and others) understand me LOL
