  1. Check coordinates 0,0,0 in the region where you lost them. "Lost" items are often to be found at this location. When you rez something, be sure you are well within the borders of your land. You can get that message if you try to rez something close to your parcel boundary. If the land is set to group or deeded to a group, wear that group's tag when rezzing. You might request a region re-start with your support ticket. Specify "region performance issues".
  2. Maybe this thread will help: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Creation/Problems-with-mesh-upload-Marvelous-designer-blender-tiny-avatar/qaq-p/2120331
  3. Because live helpers are better than bots, that's why! You can get live helpers on this forum. You can get responses to problems in the other SL Forums. You can find third party forums on the web dedicated to Second Life (SL Universe, for example.) You can get live help in world at places like Caledon Oxbridge University, New Citizens Inc, White Tiger Help Island, and many others. You can find live help in world in groups, for specific things like the Firestorm viewer. You can find answers to things yourself, in the Knowledge Base, the SL Wiki, and on many blogs run by dedicated residents. If you have a Premium account, you have Live Chat to talk directly to a Linden employee, or you can file a Support case. Now...with all that, why would anyone want to talk to a bot?
  4. Try viewing the website with the Firefox browser...this website is not friendly to Internet Explorer. If that does not show your membership correctly, call one of the Billing numbers below during business hours: US/Canada: 800-294-1067 France: 0805-101-490 Germany: 0800-664-5510 Japan: 0066-33-132-830 Portugal: 800-814-450 Spain: 800-300-560 UK: 0800-048-4646 Brazil: 0800-762-1132 Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277 **Note: Support is offered only in English
  5. IMMEDIATELY follow the steps found here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Account_Security
  6. We can't help you with that, we're just residents like you. What you need to do is either file a support case, or since you are a Premium member, use Live Chat to report the problem. LL is usually very prompt in responding to a region restart request.
  7. The Masocado Resort is located adjacent to open Linden Ocean, giving easy access to the Blake Sea and the surrounding regions...the best sailing grounds in Second Life. We offer two main lifestyles: For just $L2195 per calendar month, you can live in a beautiful two story condominium in a modern high rise building, with stupendous views of the ocean and the Masocado Lagoon. Each condo is equipped with locking doors, operating curtains, and a dance machine remote on your balcony. We offer a decorating allowance of 300 prims...far more than a cramped Linden Home, and with no banlines, better neighbors, and more amenities. If you need more or fewer prims, your rental can be adjusted accordingly. If you prefer to live right on the water, you can rent a yacht slip and dock your live-aboard yacht. We can accommodate yachts up to about 35 meters in length. Slip space rental varies depending on the amount of prims you require for your boat and furnishings, and is calculated at the low rate of $L7.5 per prim per month. All Masocado residents have free access to the many amenities at the Resort, including couples and singles dancing enabled throughout the sim, radio and HD TV receivers on request, skydiving, Seven Seas fishing, and free jet skis, WarBug airplanes, and fishing boats. There is a beautiful retro-themed dance club, Ava's Gardens, where you can take your special someone for a romantic evening. There is one vacancy. You can get it if you act quickly! Come live in Paradise for less! Come to Masocado, baby! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Masocado/240/159/41
  8. Have you done a CLEAN install? There are some files you need to delete manually. For full details, see here: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_clean_reinstall While you are there, see the other troubleshooting suggestions, especially the ones for viewing mesh with an ATI graphics card, http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/ati It's still carp? Sounds fishy to me! :smileyvery-happy:
  9. See my blog post, "Seek, and Ye Shall Find"
  10. Abandoned mainland may be purchased for just $L1 per square meter. You must be a Premium member to buy this land, or any mainland. You can have up to 512 square meters without having to pay any additional monthly fees. (Or you can have a free Linden Home...you just can't have both benefits at the same time.) If you want to own more than 512 m2, you will have to pay a monthly fee, called "tier". To see a table of the fees, go here: https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php?lang=en-US Tier is calculated based on the maximum amount of mainland you own during any billing period. If you don't want to be a Premium member, you can still "own" land by leasing a parcel on a private estate. In this case, you pay your rental fee (which may also be called "tier", although technically that term only applies to mainland parcel charges by LL) to the estate owner.
  11. You can try adjusting the eyebrow sliders for the system hair (baldie, bald cap, eyebrow shaper) you are wearing. If the baldie you are wearing is No Mod, use the Appearance menu to create a new system hair, and adjust that. However, the brows are actually painted on to most skins, and in all probability all you'll be able to do is raise and lower the eyebrows and alter the shape of them a bit. This may, or may not, be enough to get them "under" the tattoo'd eyebrows. If not, about all you can do is either 1) look for a skin with very thin, very pale, or no eyebrows. Not too likely. 2) contact the tattoo maker, send her a photo of the problem, and ask if she will consider making a set of brows that will mask the skin eyebrows. Don't be surprised if she quotes you a stiff price for a custom job. 3) wear bangs. EDIT: I thought of another thing to try. Make your own tattoo! All it has to be is a rectangle that matches your skin color and is sized to hide the brows. Apply that, then Add the eyebrow tattoo. If you are feeling adventurous, draw your own brows on the skin colored tattoo...then you will only have to wear that one.
  12. For a discussion/rant about this, and a workaround to avoid the in-and-out commssions, see my blog post, "Don't Pay Us, We Must Punish You First."
  13. I will point out that changing the permissions on your items and giving a copy to your alt IS breaking the rules, and quite seriously too. Creators take very unkindly to illegal copying of their work.
  14. You don't need to go there by clicking the SLURL. Open your viewer and log in. Then teleport to the sim and coordinates given in the SLURL using the Map. Once you are there and are sure that it's really your house (they all look alike!) you can create a landmark so you can get back there easily, and set it as your Home location to make it even easier yet.
  15. If you entered your correct birthday, and you are over 18, you can set your access preferences to go to Moderate and Adult regions. However, you should realize that land owners can restrict access to their land to avatars over a certain "age" in Second Life. Some clubs and other venues don't permit accounts under 30 days, to cut down on the number of griefers who use "throwaway" accounts to cause trouble. If you really think you entered the wrong birthday, contact Linden Lab billing at one of the numbers below, or file a support ticket. They will require you to submit some proof of age, such as a photocopy of your drivers license. US/Canada: 800-294-1067 France: 0805-101-490 Germany: 0800-664-5510 Japan: 0066-33-132-830 Portugal: 800-814-450 Spain: 800-300-560 UK: 0800-048-4646 Brazil: 0800-762-1132 Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277 **Note: Support is offered only in English ps - for anyone who is NOT over 18 and is thinking of lying about their age...DON'T. You will be found out, and you will get in trouble, both with Linden Lab and with your parents. Be patient and play by the rules!
  16. It's not against the TOS. I'd wonder how they would enforce this. As many have noted here, the "show look at" feature is highly unreliable as evidence that someone is spying on you.
  17. First, check your balance on the website here. The in-world balance is often incorrect. Second, check your transaction history on the website. You will see any payments that you have made in the last 30 days. Third, see my blog post, "Disappearing Dollars" for an explanation of what might have happened.
  18. The bed may have been re-set to owner access or group access. Unless you are the owner, or wearing the proper group tag, you won't be able to use it. If you are the owner: the bed may have stopped working. Right cliick and select it. Choose Build/Scripts/Reset Scripts in Selection. You may need to Edit Linked Parts and select the prim(s) that actually have the scripts in them and repeat this.
  19. Check all attachments and make sure you aren't wearing a crusher or deformer...especially if this happened while you were changing outfits or trying on something you got from another avatar. Try wearing a default "Ruth" avatar. Go to the Develop menu (CTRL+ALT+D to show the Advanced menu, then CTRL+ALT+Q to show Develop) find Avatar/Character Tests/Test Female. (In some viewers, it's in the Advanced menu, not Develop.) Or, try wearing a different shape from your inventory. When you say you "modified Hover", did you remember to save the modified shape?
  20. Rolig and KarenMichelle are giving you good advice. I'll add another bit... Ask yourself why you are concerned about people "looking at you" so much that you need that "crosshairs" feature turned on. Why should you care? Most people spend a lot of time making their avatars look attractive...why then should you be concerned when you succeed, and people want to look at you? OK, maybe you are worried about voyeurs. Again, why should you be? You have a made-up name and a made-up appearance. You are pixels on a monitor screen. Even if you're naked and having some fun in bed with your partner...why should you care if someone is watching? They aren't looking at YOU, they're watching a cartoon that you've invented. Or maybe you are concerned about a stalker. That can be annoying, all right. But the correct response to a stalker is eject, ban, and mute them. Yes, they can still see you. But since you can't hear anything they might have to say to you, you can easily pretend they don't exist. And you can use the privacy feature to keep them from seeing you when you are on your land and they are not. Second Life is designed to be a form of social media. It's set up to make communication of all sorts -- visual, audible, and text -- easy. It's not designed for privacy. If you insist on privacy, you must either spend a lot of money (buy your own private region and only admit your friends), or use a different platform, such as OpenSim, where you can create your own private little virtual world.
  21. When you send someone a partnership request, be sure to send it to their user name, NOT their Display Name.
  22. As KarenMichelle says, it's a legitimate offer from Second Life. But if you are considering it, be sure to read the fine print. The discount only applies if you sign up for the quarterly plan (not monthly or annually). And it is only good for that first quarter. You actually save a bit more if you just take the annual plan.
  23. No, sorry. Your account is permanently associated with the user name you chose at signup. What's worse, other people can (if they choose) see your user name in addition to, or instead of, your Display Name. The only way to change your user name is to create a new account with a new user name, an "alt". You can transfer your $L and your transferable items to the new account, but not any No Transfer inventory items. Because your user name is just about the only thing you can't change about your avatar, it's advisable to choose it with care. Something pronounceable and not offensive would be nice. But "JadenVerona" is actually a pretty good name...I would not change it, if it were me.
  24. Your credit card will show charges as coming from "Linden Research, Inc."
