  1. On the other hand, if your suggestion is of the form "Hey, Lindens, pull your head out of your **bleep** orifice!" then get in line. The end of the line is a couple miles over that hill waaaaaay off in the distance there.
  2. If your website Transaction Log does not show the transaction, then there WAS no transaction. Most likely, as KarenMichelle suspects, it was a joke object spouting a message in local chat. However, if some stranger DOES ever send you a large amount of $L, don't go spending it right away. If it was illegally obtained (for example, by someone using a stolen credit card to buy $L) then LL will remove the money from your account pretty quickly. They may also fine you and/or ban your account for being an accomplice to money laundering. If you are worried about that, then do the following. Do NOT return the money. Just say "wow, thanks very much!!" and go on your way. But don't spend it, either. File a Support Case with Linden Lab. Use Account Issue as the issue type. Explain what happened, and include a copy of the information from your Transaction Log. Tell them you'd like them to investigate and determine if the money is legal for you to keep. If the money WAS stolen, LL will remove it from your account, but since you were up front about what happened they will probably not penalize you. If the money was NOT stolen, congratulations, you got a free gift.
  3. I'm amazed that you are able to conduct your entire financial life with an UNverified PayPal account. It's not only Linden Lab that refuses to do business with unverified accounts. You should get a bank account and link it to your PayPal account. You don't have to keep much money in it.
  4. There are many people who design and build custom regions. However, they don't come cheap. I know some people who have charged up to $20,000 (US dollars, not Linden dollars!) to design and build a sim for a client. If you own a Homestead region, you are really leasing it from the estate owner. Why not contact them first and see if they would do something for you? Many estate owners are proficient at terraforming and landscaping. Or, even better, do it yourself. It's not hard at all to learn the terraforming tools or how to apply a set of terrain textures. It's even easier to buy beautiful rocks, trees, and shrubs from the many garden centers in Second Life. Even those of us on the Mainland, where we are limited to +/- 4 meters of terraforming can make an attractive area. You're welcome to come see the fall foliage and decorations on my sim, Masocado.
  5. You'll have to pay the Premium fee for the current quarter. However, your Premium benefits will remain in effect for the quarter, even if you start the downgrade process now. Linden Lab does not give refunds.
  6. Besides Maddy's advice, if you have a viewer with the RLV feature and have it enabled, some things you sit on (especially cages, including hypnosis chambers) can "trap" you until the owner of the trap or your owner comes and releases you or until a set time period has elapsed. If you have RLV enabled, you can log out, go to the login screen, open Preferences (CTRL+P), disable it, close the login screen, then re-open it and log in.
  7. Are you able to upload mesh? You must have payment information on file, and you must take a short course and a quiz on intellectual property. This must be done for both the Beta grid (Agni) and the main grid (Aditi) to upload meshes to them, respectively. If you can't upload mesh, obviously you can't sell it. :smileyvery-happy:

If there was a link in that email, DON'T CLICK IT. If you already clicked it and entered you user name and password, your account has been compromised. Search "phishing" in the Knowledge Base and follow the instructions. If you can still do so, change your password right now.
  9. See this post: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Everything-Else/How-do-I-edit-events/qaq-p/1168007 By the way, if you search the Answers forum before posting a question, you can often find that your problem has already been experienced by someone else, and has been solved! However, the native search function does not always find a result. I have found that if an initial search on the website here in Answers and in the Knowledge Base does not help, a Google search OUTSIDE the website may produce results. For example, I found the above post by Googling "editing an event in Second Life"
  10. Your library has likely blocked SL from their network, since most librarians don't want kids coming in and playing games on their nickel. You'll have to convince your librarian that SL is "educational." Good luck with that. (I say that even though I myself think Second Life IS a great educational tool.)
  11. Everyone SHOULD see the same video, as only one media stream at a time can play on a land parcel. However, they will not all see it in sync. The stream will start for each person when they enter the parcel, and/or click the Play Media control in their viewer.
  12. Second Life clothing is a minefield for the newcomer. Besides Rolig's suggestion to start with one of the older, "standard" type avatars in your inventory (see the folder Library/Clothing/Older Outfits, or simply choose any avatar outfit folder that does not have "mesh" in the name)... Most hair these days is an attachment, a sort of wig, and it cannot be edited with the Appearance sliders. You can detach the hair and wear any other hair object. Hair comes in two parts...the first part is a "baldy", or "bald cap" or "eyebrow shaper", with the inventory symbol of a head of hair. This just makes you bald, so the older, ugly "system" hair does not stick out through your pretty prim hair attachment. The second part is the actual hair, but it will have the inventory symbol of an object...a small cube. Many clothing items are "no modify". If you try to edit them in Appearance, they are grayed out. Don't despair, just wear a different clothing item instead. Be careful of "alpha masks". These are special clothing layers that make part or all of your body invisible when wearing mesh clothes or avatars, to keep your "standard" body from poking through them. Alpha masks have the inventory symbol of a shirt with a grid pattern on it. Be sure to wear them with the clothing that requires them, and take them off when you remove those clothes. You can wear up to five alpha masks at a time (or ANY clothing layer) by using the inventory command ADD instead of WEAR. (WEAR removes any similar item and replaces it, or them, with the new item.) There are four appearance items you can't take off. They are necessary to define a minimum avatar. These four are shape, skin, eyes, and system hair. You can't take them off, but you CAN wear another item of the same type to replace them.
  13. I started having weird problems with animations last night. Even with my AO off, an animation (not always the same one) would play. Try going to Me/Movement/Stop Animations and see if it helps. You may also have turned off scripts for your land. Check that in About Land/Access.
  14. No, LL doesn't do that. Rather than the clear cache commands in your viewer, you can do a more thorough job with a manual cache clesr. See this page: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear Also, in the future, don't keep stuff in Received items. I don't KNOW that loss is more likely from there than from any other folder, but it's supposed to be a temporary "in box" for items you buy from the Marketplace. Move them into the appropriate folder of your main inventory.
  15. The fastest way is to go somewhere else. If you're frozen, log off, then log in at a different region.
  16. Being Premium and having a valid payment method on file are two different things...although in order to BE Premium, you must have a payment method on file, to pay for the Premium membership dues. Your payment method may be either a major credit card or a verified PayPal account ("verified" means that you have gone through the process on the PayPal website to link the account to a major credit card or a real life bank account.) If you choose to link to a bank account, you MUST have money IN YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT to cover any charges from LL. They will not wait several days for money to transfer from your bank to PayPal to Linden Lab. As Rolig says, your Premium $L comes in two ways, and it does not come the second you sign up. You'll get $L300 the first Tuesday after you sign up, and $L1,000 after 45 days of continuous Premium membership. If you are trying to shop on the Marketplace and using your credit card...don't. For one thing, it costs more to do it that way. Instead, buy some $L and pay with those. However, if you are having problems with your payment method being accepted, call Billing at one of the numbers below. 17. Yep, Maddy's right. Renewals are automatic. Just be sure your payment method is current.
  18. I think I know what you mean. You try to wear different clothes, but they don't seem to wear or attach. Then when you log off and log back on, they appear. This could be a problem in two areas. First, you might have a flaky internet connection. Reboot your internet modem and router, and if that doesn't help, try adding the Google Free Public DNS servers to your network setup. See this link: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using The other problem might be a corrupt inventory cache on your local hard drive. To clear your cache, follow these instructions: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_cache_clear Also, you may simply be in a very laggy place. Try your clothing experiments in a quiet, empty region like Pooley or Heckendorf.
  19. 1. porque Linden Lab não permite 2. Você não tem que ser Premium para jogar nas regiões Habilidade jogos. Você deve ser mais de 19 anos de idade e ter um método de pagamento em arquivo. 3. Sim. Eles estão em regiões Habilidade jogos. Veja esta política: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Second_Life_Skill_Gaming_Policy 4. Veja as respostas a 2 e 3 acima. 5. Sim.
  20. This page of troubleshooting advice is not specifically aimed at your problem, but it's the closest I could find. http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/mesh_issues
  21. Yes. There are a number of yard sale sites in SL where you can put your transferable items for resale. There is at least one annual sale I know of, sponsored by Callahan's Place.
