  1. Hi Rayleen, I'm not aware of a mechanism by which your avatar can be changed without your permission. In particular, I know of no way for your avatar to be changed into anything that's not in your inventory. To appear as a rabbit, you'd need a shape and clothing already in inventory. If you find that you are indeed wearing rabbit things from your inventory, it's possible that you have RLV enabled, and the rabbit things were hidden in a folder of other things you purchased or were given by someone else. If you are using an RLV equipped viewer, disable it. In Firestorm, you do this from Preferences->Firestorm->General and untick "Allow Remote Scripted Viewer Controls (RLVa)". You can also enable/disable it from the Advanced Menu, near the bottom. Then remove the rabbit items from inventory. You can find them by searing inventory for "(Worn" with no right paren. I suppose it's possible for someone to construct a phantom follower object that could occupy your avatar position, shrouding you from view. If that's the case, teleporting away would free you from the "rabbit". If none of this helps, come back and edit your question via "Options" over there on the right. Good luck!
  2. Hi LIRSTY, welcome to Second Life. I think we'll need a little more information if we're to help you. Come back to your question and edit it via "Options" over there on the right. It would be helpful to know more about what "stuck" means? Do you mean you're able to log-in, but your avatar won't move? Or that it won't rez (you appear as a cloud)? Most SL problems are connection related. If you are on wi-fi, you might try moving your computer closer to the router, or going with a wired connection. Good luck!

Whatever anybody has I catch it. But today is warm and sunny - shirtsleeve weather. Plan on going for a walk in a little bit. Hope everyone has a great weekend. P.S. Maddy do you need to shovel? Just walk over the snow and pack it down, unless it is very deep. How much do you have? Coffee/hot chocolate breaks are something to look forward to, at least. Next time, have your family come south! As for clearing snow, I do the driveways and path to the beach with the tractor... that's maybe 1/4 mile. The snowblower is for the sidewalks and detail work, which takes an hour with and a day without. There isn't actually enough snow for me to worry about right now, but you just know that Nature is aware my snowblower broke, and is working up a huge snowstorm for me. I'm glad you're feeling better. You are feeling better, right?
  4. The wheels fell off my snowblower yesterday, it's gonna be a loooooong day of shoveling... Happy Friday, Kids!!!

  6. Hi keykoyo, It takes several days for a Linden credit to your Paypal account to clear. That message tells you that the transfer process has been started. You should see the money in your Paypal account in a few days. Here's another thread discussing this... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/Can-Withdraw-to-Credit-via-Paypal-be-faster/td-p/2086713
  7. Hi Zip, The edit window may be lurking behind a toolbar button. Try dragging the buttons to a different edge of the screen to see if you can catch a glimpse of the edit window. Good luck!
  8. I see Val's gonna give me some tough dress-up competition... Good morning, Kids!!!

If not the kind you had, others such as wanting to click on a stranger to see their profile, thinking i'll just fly up rather than take the stairs, looking around for a tp etc. Its not surprising as studies have shown that virtual stimulus and real stimulus register in the brain the same way. As long as you don't forget your in RL and actually try to fly off something its all good. I don't have experiences like those mentioned here so far, but I do have memories of things that happened in SL which are triggered by things that happen in RL. As I get older, I expect the distinctions between RL and SL memories to blur, as each recollection of an SL memory will cause a re-write with just a hint more RL added. When I'm socializing in RL, I find myself recalling experiences I had in SL and must bite my tongue to avoid saying things like "Oh, Paris is lovely at night, I remember sitting on the light at the top of the Eiffel Tower." I did visit Paris and the tower in 1993, but my recollection of the SL Eiffel Tower is as vivid, I suspect because of my traveling companion. I fully expect that, in my dotage, my recollection errors will leak out and those around me will wonder what the hell I'm talking about. ;-)
  10. I'm pretty sure I'm stupid now and then. Why not everybody else?! ;-)
  11. Hi Elise, Viewers have gone though quite a few revisions since March. The grid usually won't let you log on if you've got a too-old viewer, but you have have a third party viewer that the servers haven't identified as incompatible. I suggest you do a clean install of the latest SL viewer. Here's how to do it... http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-Second-Life/ta-p/1375231 If you've already tried that, come back to edit your question adding more information, so we have a better chance of helping. Good luck!
  12. Hi Blaze, The Second Life Terms of Service do not allow for the transfer of an account from one person to another. Last names are available for a very high price, as you'll see here... http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Custom_Name_Program Be happy with the name you have and spend your Lindens making you and your friends happy. Even your Second Life is too short to worry about things you can't change. Have fun!

That '0' you wrote is actually 0x0030 in Unicode, which has to be read in as a token and then replaced with an integer after the compiler has identified that is what you meant in the context used, the same as if you had written out PUBLIC_CHANNEL. And I'm certainly not in favor of obfuscating things to save a poor computer a few nanoseconds of compile time. Certainly people deserve more consideration than computers?
  14. Hi Tiffany, I'd normally say that, as this is Tuesday, Linden Lab is probably doing their usual maintenance, which will take regions offline for a few minutes. But, the grid status page shows all clear at the moment. Try logging into a quiet region, like Pooley. Type the region name into the "Start at" box when you log-in. The one you are attempting to reach may be offline for some other reason. If that's the case, try again later. If you are still unable to log-in, return to your question and edit it via "Options" over there on the right. This will allow us to focus on your issue in one place and will prevent other's questions from being pushed off the front page. Good luck!
  15. Thanks for the help, Val! It's nice to have a capable getaway driver. I had my handsfull today...
  16. Welcome to Second Life, rebel! There's a lot to learn about building here, and there are plenty of ways to learn. Helping Haven, Builders Brewery,New Citizens Incorportated (NCI), Caledon Oxbridge University and others offer courses covering all aspects of creation in SL, from beginning to advanced. You'll also find video tutorials on YouTube and written tutorials all around the web. I understand that you treasure your ideas, but at some point you may have to share some of your vision with others to get the help you need. Second Life, like First, is full of good people. Have fun!
  17. Someday I'll investigate STATUS_SANDBOX and STATUS_RETURN_AT_EDGE. Back in my building days, I avoided the problem Steph mentions (or I think I did) by putting a listener in things I made physical. I had a "killer" prim that, on touch, issued a self destruct command across the region. I realize this doesn't work if I lose a physical object into a neighboring sim, but I lived on an isolated one during those building days.
  18. Hi Iwanamore, It may be hidden under a toolbar button at the edge of your screen. Look carefullly around the edges, and drag your toolbar buttons around to another side of the window. Hopefully you'll find the window lurking there somewhere. Good luck!
  19. Picture posting has been erratic, or just plain broken for quite some time now. There's no ETA from Linden Lab for a resolution. People seem to be migrating to Flickr.
  20. Coby, maybe this link will work. If not, Google "eds cat herders"... http://vimeo.com/26828021
  21. Hi Jazzy, Your local inventory list may be corrupted. Here's an SL wiki page dealing with this issue. I recommend you try at least the first suggestion under "Common Solutions". http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Inventory_loss If this doesn't fix your problem, come back and edit your question with an update, via "Options" over there on the right. Good luck!
  22. Good morning, Hippie. It's raining on the roads that were exposed to subzero weather the last few days, making them very icy... Hi, Kids!!!
