New users on the forum have limited post counts. We recently had a really big problem with spammers, so this is implemented. There's a little hand icon under the profile picture in your post. Once that goes away, you won't be limited.

I already went through that a few weeks ago & now again ?

If I have a nice chat with someone I meet, I usually add them to my list at the end of the conversation (assuming it lasted at least an hour or so) so I don't have to write down their name, search their profile, and IM them (hoping they're online) if I want to talk to them again. Am I being too hasty?

You do you, it doesn't matter.

I have asked a few people from the forum because they have gone out of their way to help me & I well appreciate that.  Inworld ... well I'm kinda shy & will wait until asked.    Like @Resi Pfeffer says, do a little clean up now & then.

Seriously ??  Can someone please tell me what the rules are here - I have hardly spammed anything... & I can't ask this question anywhere because I am locked out.

@Nick0678 - thanks, cannot find anywhere on how to contact a forum moderator or any info in appropriate topics here .. oh well, imma go do something useful then !

absolutely agree but sometimes isn't so easy explain your feeling in chat with a not native language, so if i need a fluent conversation I need a to talk to people from my country.

several times it happen to me to be misunderstood  😬

Oh but I love trying to work things like that out.  It seems I am always meeting peeps that don't speak/write English well or not at all so there can be a lot of explaining re: slang & acronyms.  Judicious use of a translator & careful choice of words helps, it can require patience for sure ....

to the thread ... not British born but living here many years.  Personally I never concern myself with where people are living tho knowing time zones can be important.

  4. The only things I watch on telly are RuPaul & Great British Bake Off, tho recently got sucked into a mukbang rabbit hole on youtube.   Weird thing about that was I went & found a Korean food supplier & now have a cupboard full of Buldak Topokki & Tonkatsu Ramen. Now I'm watching youtube videos on how to use Blender, for my sins like ...

Yup logged in with two AO's, two different tops on and tried to change my makeup, stayed gray for five minutes and logged right on out.

I was playing with free dance effects & had to hide in a sky box because I couldn't stop the lasers from shooting out my hands !   Those thing cause seizures.

I've got a set to go to tonight, and I'm wondering if maybe this is the night I should just wear the boxwine costume I bought...

The free ghost costume on MP works & it fades in & out, so you can put a ghastly system thing on underneath for double the fun.

I ended up TPing to Hippo Hollow, and hit up Developer > Avatar > Character Tests > Test Female.  When I saw the base avatar came through with all colors intact, I tried putting on my usual skin and shape, along with my mesh body and head, but the baked on clothing would not disappear.  To counteract that, I ended up making a folder I called "Bake Fail" (......

Thanks for this.  I have an old system avi saved as an outfit & he appears fine but I'll just wait it out for the time being as polygon man.

It's not just baked textures either; I also had difficulty removing worn attachments; re-logging fixed that too.

Oh I was having great fun with attachment problems yesterday.

What you're describing is a group tag. Display name is something different. It's a nickname tag to annoy others with unreadable fonts. If you had chosen your username right, you won't need a display name.

yeah, those fonts do my head in

But as you say, many club goers don't seem to have the communication skills to actually respond to a prior statement or question and instead ruin local chat for those that actually do wish to have a conversation. After all, it's the conversations that bring a club to life, not the gestures and the "big mother loving fog horns".

This.  Large gestures spamming the chat box are rude, not to mention childish.  The odd short one appropriate to what is going on is fine, I use them myself from time to time.

The first thing I did when I logged back into SL was find out how to mute them, but didn't know about the spam thingie so thanks @RowanMinx .
